shooting and the video and it just ain't so. >> reporter: i'm peggy fox in alexandrian where the police chief says his officers were justified in killing him right here because he pulled his gun on them. but did he or did they not and what does the video show? >> when they started shooting. i was there. and i know what i saw. >> vickie sellers watched at seven alexandrian police officers opened fire and killed her son. a arm toker marine legally carried a gun. but he did not fire when officers opened up with 37 rounds hitting him five times. >> only at the point that mr. seller's pointed his gun at one of my officers did the rest of the officers fire their weapons. >> reporter: he says cell phone videos shows sellers pointed his gun at the officers. but vickie sellers who has seen the videos and was there says she only saw him point his gun down. she thought taft fired first which he did not. >> the video is part of the criminal investigation. >> the chief won't release the video to the public but will consider my request to let reporters view the video. right now, friends and family are paying respects to the family of kenny diaz. he was stabbed to death last saturday. he played football at wood bridge high. so day police announced four more arrests in connection to his death. they think diaz was killed after he and his friends confronted another group about a robbery. more breaking news. where several people walking have been struck near northwestern high school. we have a crew on the way there too. we'll bring you more information as soon as we get it into the news room. still ahead, they say sometimes you can't see the forest through the trees. but what about when a playground looks like trees ? . all right let's update you on the breaking news out of hyattsville where multiple pedestrians have been hit at the 7,000 block of adelle fire road near northwestern high school. we have sky 9 out over the scene where there's lots of first responder action and a lot of people gathered around. we'll try to get you more information as to how many people were hit and the extent of their injuries. we'll let you know as soon as we get that information into the news room. >> we certainly hope they're going to be okay. when declassified documents revealed a hydrogen bomb nearly detonated. a photo journalist dug another scary story. >> a b 52 crashes in a blizzard with two nukes on board. photographer greg guiss revisited that almost nobody still alive remembers. >> amazing thing here at the crash site almost half a century later. if you move a little air force left most of the wreckage of the b 52 in his cattle field. >> you can see it's still stamped with the bowing stamp of manufacture. this was a hidrolic actuary tore. >> security forces pulled out the nuclear weapons and the body of major robert townley who could not bail out of the plane. >> he was out of the seat when the incident occurred. he was just not able to get back into that seat so he could eject himself out. >> reporter: the flight was returning to georgia after a nuclear alert mission over europe when it ran into a huge blizzard over western maryland. the turbulence left the crew bailing out in the storm. the pilot and the co-pilot survived. two others died of exposure. >> hundreds of people were outlooking for them. one boy taking a shortcut home found him and unfortunately he had all ready died. >> he remembered when he was a ten year old when they brought the bombs off the mountain. >> they had the explosive labels on the back. >> on a flat bed truck, they strapped them down and drove them out of here. 14 deaths over three years. all of them caused by the same weak bolt head in the tail of the b 52. this crash marked a turning point. a few years later the b 52s were taken off 24 hour airborne alert and redesigned so that their airframes were not so prone to catastrophic failure. in garrett county maryland, bruce, wusa 9. now the nukes down in north carolina, they were one fail safe away from detonation. the bombs in maryland on the other hand were neither armed nor ready. and the worst thing that could have happened is the fire could have set off the explosives and sent the radio-active material across the country side. but the weapons were secured and they were all still in tact. back to hyattville. one scary scene. 7,000 block of adelle road. eight people hit. we don't know if it was a car that struck them. what they were doing at the time. none of them have critical injuries. this is near northwestern high school. you can see 50s and 60s. very nice. by afternoon, we're in great shape again, partly cloudy, seasonable. continued beautiful. high temperatures around 75. early in the morning you have upper 50s. these are downtown temps at 5:00 and 7:00. mid 60s by 9:00. upper 60s by 11:00. and 71 or low 70s by 1:00. still great on sunday, temperatures either side of 75. next seven days, monday we're in good shape too. mid to upper 70s. it warms up a little next week. near 80 on tuesday. around 80 on wednesday. low 80s on thursday. i put a tiny drop in there. don't worry about it. maybe a sprinkle. nothing to do
