without any trouble. she is furious. they believe there was a substitute or temporary teacher in that day. a spokesman for the day care will not confirm any of these details. >> they give they condolences. their condolences not good enough. it's not going to bring my grandson back. we have to bury him. they don't. i don't have no answers. a spokesperson for the day care did give us a statement. they wrote we are shocked and deeply saddened as we grieve the sudden death of one of our children today while eating lunch the child showed difficulty breathing. our trained staff responded immediately to call 911 and perform the heimlich maneuver and cpr. they went on to give their condolences. sterling was a big broker. he'd been going to this day care for about investigators tell us the investigation into this incident continues. at the department of labor building. stephanie ramirez. >> just started as a normal day and ended with this horrible tragedy. sterling was pronounced dead. so far police haven't announced any arrests as the investigation continues. well it was a wild police chase and shoot outtoday in the district. it all started when an offduty officer spotted a mercedes the one right there with the door open driving all kinds of ways on third and u street northwest. somebody got out of the car, started shooting at the officer. no one was hit. officers caught up with that mercedes after it crashed on fifth street in northwest and the suspect tried to make a run for it. he didn't get far. he was caught and police found a weapon too. former president george h.w. bush and his wife former first lady barbara are both in the hospital tonight. the 41st president is in the icu at out after complaining about shortness of breath. he is in stable condition and responding well to treatment. at 92 mr. bush is the oldest living former president. former first lady barbara bush was admitted to the same hospital this morning. less than 43 hours until president-elect donald trump takes the oath of office. among his tweets was in this photo. writing my inaugural address at the winter white house three weeks ago. looking forward to friday. cnn reports that the president- elect wrote the draft himself. the parking restrictions and street closures are in place downtown because of the inauguration. there's confusion and anger as authorities are pretty serious about their enforcement. scott broom is downtown to tell us what is going on. well sixth street northwest right now, you're about to see signs have gone up throughout the downtown area. the capital, white house, up and down pennsylvania avenue. parking restrictions going into effect right now. this one started at noon today, even though we're a good distance away from the inaugural on friday. if you think things are going to be normal or easy to navigate from here on through the weekend, better think again. >> parking enforcements started shortly after a 12 noon no parking restriction. went into effect in large areas of downtown. sometimes 3 to 4 blocks away from the inauguration route. the recipients of some of the first tickets predictably not happy about it. >> i just pay for parking. y'all going to write me a ticket. spree in richmond. >> ricky gray killed seven people during a seven day stretch in 2006. he's scheduled to receive a lethal injection at 9:00 tonight at the greensville correctional center. gray's lawyers are asking the supreme court to put that execution on hold while they challenge the state's lethal injection plan. a not guilty plea today from the widow of orlando nightclub shooter omar mateen. noor salman is charged with helping her husband support the islamic state. she was arrested outside of san francisco. prosecutors say salman knew about mateen's plans to carry out that attack at the pulse nightclub in june. 49 people died there and police killed mateen during that standoff. news of noor salman's arrest came out on monday. one online magazine called raw story picked up the news, posted about it and falsely used a picture of a person who was not noor salman along with the article. it was actually a picture of a former wusa9 intern who is now a reporter. and nikki burdine sat down with her today. she joins us with more. >> reporter: she was obviously upset to see her picture in that article incorrectly identifying her as the widow of the but she also says unfortunately she wasn't surprised. as a reporter for newsie, noor often covers stories about subcultures. >> i take it from the angle that i have a perspective most people wouldn't have. >> reporter: as a muslim american journalist that perspective became more clear on monday. >> i started getting a bump of tweets from people -- bunch of tweet from people. oh my god, you're using the wrong photo. >> reporter: she saw her face next to the headline that read wife of pulse nightclub killer arrested. the wife of omar mateen, noor salman was arrested. she allegedly knew about the horrific attack at the orlando nightclub before it happened and did nothing. her name is noor, she is muslim, but that's about all they have in common. >> it was almost like funny how ironic it was because this isn't something that's terribly surprising. >> reporter: noor twd he picture was removed within a few hours, replaced with omar mateen's photo and an apology was issued right below it. but the one thing noor really wanted to see still hasn't happened. >> in journalism when you make a mistake that big you have to make a correction and a retraction. >> reporter: instead of waiting r that, noor got to work and wrote her own response. addressing what she says is the real problem. fake news and the misrepresentation of muslim women. >> i think muslim women are misrepresented in media today and we're fighting so hard against that misrespecting and this is one way to do it. >> reporter: she did receive an apology from someone. it was two days after the article came back. >> i have to say noor was an intern here. she was fantastic intern and she's a great journalist and we've learned that she has retained an attorney. the baltimore mother who lost six of her nine kids in fire last week is out thanking everyone for their support. kate malone was badly injured in the fire. in a facebook post she writes her breathing tube is gone. asking you honor the children she lost in the fire. bridget might enjoy a hamilton song. amelia would appreciate your support of womens rights. her twins would want you to solve a problem with your best friend or even with an enemy. billy would want you to be helpful and daniel would want you to smile more. malone also asks that we don't forget erin, she woke up her mom and helped two of her siblings survive that deadly fire. >> boy that is just an incredible tragedy. we're thinking about that whole family. to georgia now. a man is behind bars after his unleashed dogs attacked and killed an elementary school student just trying to go to school. angelica braatz discovered the shortly after he left his house on tuesday morning. a 5-year-old girl was found by neighbors badly injured and unresponsive. >> we heard screaming from the house. and everybody came running. i saw the one child laying on the ground and then everybody still trying to find the other kids. >> police responded quickly and shot and injured one of the dogs. they are both in custody of
