>> i can deny it. >> there is no court order? >> not to my knowledge. >> of anything at trump tower? >> no. >> reporter: law enforcement sources that fbi director james comey sent a message to department of justice officials saturday asking that they publicly reject trump's assertion because it falsely suggests the fbi broke the law. >> if it's true, obviously we're going to find out very quickly and if it isn't, obviously he'll have to explain what he meant by it. >> reporter: democrats meanwhile were unified in condemning the allegations. >> to make that type of claim without any evidence is i think very reckless. >> reporter: some democrats suggested trump was trying to divert attention from questions about his campaign's contacts with russian officials. >> attorney general jeff sessions is expected to file amended -- attorney general jeff sessions is expected to file amended confirmation testimony tonight acknowledging conversations with the russian ambassador he failed to disclose during his senate confirmation. this is 25-year-old akeema rr arianna and 6-year-old ryan who was killed in a car accident when she veered off the road and struck a tree friday in waldorf, maryland. the children suffered minor injuries, but their mom was killed in the crash. the family has set up a gofundme account to help pay for funeral expenses. there is a link on our wusa9 app. tonight the search continues for the man who stabbed a security guard to death in prince william county. police say he's jamel kingsbury. it happened outside the burlington coat factory yesterday. two guards approached him when he was seen shoplifting. one was stabbed and killed. the other was not hurt. in prince george's county police are trying to find the man who exchanged gunfire with police last night along kayak avenue in capitol heights. we're told it all started when a person told police he'd been robbed. the officer tried to stop a man fitting the description. the officer ran after the suspect and bo the officer wasn't hit. the suspect ran away. raw emotion from friends who say they lost their best friend in a house fire this morning. the fire broke out at a home in capitol heights, maryland, around 9:00 and close friends tell our stephanie ramirez the person killed inside was 58- year-old lisa herring. >> i watch walked her to the door. we had been drinking. i asked her to come sleep on my couch and she said she wanted to go in her own bed. >> reporter: betty mills says that was at around 4:30 sunday morning. she and isyna sinclair say she and the victim were more like sisters and they were at a birthday party the night before. when they got back, she said she and 58-year-old lisa herring said their good-byes. then some four hours later -- >> my son ran in and said mom, lisa's house is on fire. i kicked can't get in. >> reporter: prince george's county fire department responded to a fire on the 5900 block of crown street after 9 a.m. sunday. firefighters say the bulk of the fire was inside the rear of the home which i'm told is where there is a bedroom. >> he kicked the side door open and i stepped in, but i was calling her. she wasn't answering and i couldn't get to her. >> reporter: friends tell us herring was a mother of two and took care of her sick mother here at the home. >> a good hearted person, friendly. >> if you have anybody that you care about, show them love and that's theone good thing i do have to hold onto because our last words were good words. >> reporter: in capitol heights stephanie ramirez, wusa9. >> no word on what caused the fire. prince george's county fire officials say there were no working smoke detectors inside that home. atf and homicide detectives are also investigating to make sure there was no foul play. a north carolina man arrested for firing a gun restaurant is due in court tomorrow. 28-year-old edgar welch pled not guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon and possessing a firearm during the commission of a violent crime as well as transporting a firearm and ammo across state lines. welch says he went to the northwest washington pizza restaurant because he believed a child sex ring was operating in its basement. tracking metro, rush hour tomorrow morning, a big test for the latest phase of metro's big maintenance project. the work impacts service on the blue and yellow lines. on weekdays there will be continuous single tracking between braddock road and the huntington and van dorn street stations. in fact, the trains run every 24 minutes even during rush and this phase runs through april 19th. it's a chilly end to the weekend, but it won't stay cold for long, howard bernstein on the weather terrace tracking some warmer temps, howard? >> yeah, exactly. we're seeing signs of warmer air when we look at the satellite and radar. see little rain showers and some of that wintery mix in northwest pennsylvania, ohio into new york state. that warmer air is coming in. we still have the very cold air around and temperatures right now range near the teens and 20s in new england while we're in the low 30s in town, but columbus is 53 at this hour. so on the other side of th mountains the warmer air and that warmer air will move in a little bit tonight but more so tomorrow. so tonight it will be cold. some spots will be down in the lower 20s like frederick and gaithersburg and manassas while we'll be in the upper 20s, around 30 in town and in annapolis probably lower 30s. on futurecast tomorrow we're looking at kind of a mix and clouds. i'm thinking thicker cloudiness in the afternoon. by lunchtime we'll be near 50 which is a good almost 10 degrees warmer than today. as we get into the afternoon, mid-50s should do it, might see a shower monday nitrogenly north of washington, but tuesday -- night generally north of washington, but tuesday we'll be temps into the 60s with a chance of late afternoon and nighttime showers and after that a front goes through. i'll tell you what it does when i return in a few minutes with the seven-day forecast. when you're facing the battle of your life, it helps to have some powerful friends on your side. tonight for a 13-year-old boy without kidneys those friends were the washington wizards and as john henry tells us, this isn't about sports. this is about heart. >> reporter: i'm here in the verizon center where the wizards' newest teammate made his debut. sometimes when you focus on what you love, it can help you escape what causes you pain. >> can you shoot at all? waldorf and manassas are 25. we've got front royal 28, davis just into the touch of warm air at 37. so a little even pax river, cambridge still down in the 20s, nice looking night. it's just a cold one here in washington. thankfully the winds are still fairly light, so a slight wind chill making 33 feel like 28 and the air is very dry, also. the dew points have come up from near 0 to about 12 now. so the relative humidity is at 33 at 42%. our weather headlines, cold again tonight, down in the 20s, 50s returning tomorrow. so we'll start a warming trend with 60s here with some showers tuesday. i'm thinking the showers will hold off till mid- to late afternoon, so not a yellow alert and it looks like the best chance of showers may be overnight. so the timing may be ch that if we can get past the rush hour tuesday, this should be out of here by wednesday morning. want to remind you next weekend daylight saving time returns. so the sunset next sunday will be after 7 p.m. that's going to change things. speaking of changes, look at the warmth down in texas tomorrow, dallas 82. we got 70 in that warmth will move east. somewhat cold air and the rockies and that will also spread east a little bit mainly in the northern plains. dallas cools down, but we by tuesday get into the 60s with raleigh in the 70s and looks like we'll be in the 60s again on wednesday. of course, like we've been talking about most of the winter season, storm after storm keeps hitting the west coast and more rain and snow up and down the west coast. so the pacific air comes in, the cold. there are parts of northern canada right now colder than 60 below 0, doesn't have a chance to drop south because of that stuff coming off the pacific. meanwhile showers down in the south, mississippi valley, will head to the north. it looks like tomorrow afternoon some of the rain will be moving into ohio, west virginia, western pennsylvania. we'll see a couple showers move across us tomorrow night north of town. here comes that front on tuesday. in the afternoon we've got some showers, but the best chance of rain ni morning we're starting to clear out. your forecast then for tonight, clear to partly cloudy, cold, 20s with light wind. tomorrow 20s and 30s in the morning, partly sunny, chilly, increasing clouds, milder, mid- 50s in the afternoon. let's look at the three-day forecast. showers develop tuesday afternoon, mid-60s, 64 wednesday, be kind of breezy but should be dry. thursday and friday back in the 50s and next weekend still a little up in the air. models are not in agreement, but don't forget the time change. >> i just have to point out here, casey had additional questions. you better write her back and she said she might watch channel 9 to see you. switching gears, helping those who put their lives on the line to save strangers, how a new center in prince george's county is hoping to transform the lives of first responders. the kind of deep sleep i can only get on my tempur-pedic. it adapts to me. my shape, my size, my body. tempur-pedic. this sleep is power. it's the first of its kind right here in prince george's county, a new treatment have to help firefighters and paramedics recover from the crippling effects of ptsd. behavior and healthcare recovery opened up in marlboro today. wusa9's evan koslof shows us why this center is so important. >> i could hear the young kid 16 years old in the truck screaming for help and he just couldn't get out. the truck was on fire. >> reporter: jim brinkley is talking about his first call as a prince george's county firefighter, one traumatic event over hundreds during his long career. >> i remember the thanksgiving day fire in seat pleasant where we lost six children. those things stick with you forever and then i go home and i think about my kids. what if they were my kids, what would happen? how would i survive from something like that? >> reporter: and it's because of calls like these that ptsd is a big problem in the firefighter community. one in five battle the condition and that's why a center like this is crucial. >> it gets you back to neutral and helps you process the information. that it would be a home run and something i wish i had when i was out there on the front lines. >> this is the personal living quarters. >> reporter: abbey morris is from advance recovery systems which runs the facility. she' center and says it can help 64 patients at a time. >> we want it to be a place where people can relax and focus on themselves for a change. >> is this a first of its kind, a center that does not exist anywhere else. >> reporter: meanwhile excitement from patrick morrison of the international association of firefighters. he said this center can break down the stigma that firefighters are too tough to ask for help. >> that mentality has to go away and it's going to take years for us to realize that the stigma about mental health doesn't help anybody, doesn't help any firefighter today. >> reporter: supporting our firefighters, this is evan koslof, wusa9. coming up the terps can't be stopped and a look at the bi i'm on it.t your vehicle?
