Well, tonight, Metro Transit Police are searching for three person of interest connected to a Sexual Assault reported on a yellow line train last night. But there were security cameras that caught images of three men that metro police desperately want to talk to. As her train traveled north to virginia, the alleged victim says she was approached by three men demanding she perform a sexual act. When she refused, the Victim Told Police they assaulted her, groping and grabbing her through her clothes. Based on her descriptions, police are now searching for these three men in connection to another crime which has unnerved metro riders. Is that something you worry about . Yes. Reporter todays report comes on the heels of several high profile sexual asul an alleged april rape on the red line made public in may led to change in protocols, to the approval of harassment advocates like jessica avon. The School System missed it. They do their background checks with a private contracting firm. There seems to have been a lot of times devoted page analysis to background checks, who should have them and how much. It didnt seem to address who performs them. Why is that . Well, the task force did not involve itself in the criminal investigation. That was not our charge. In the report, we speak very clearly to the need to involve subject Matter Experts in this work. And as a matter of fact, Law Enforcement is mentioned as one of those subject Matter Experts. So i would believe that as things unfold and theres a need to change how background checks are done and who does them, that the system will respond appropriately. Do you think we could see changes in the next month, year, on who is carrying out those background checks . Even if that case is a specific ongoing investigation, it seems to be where it stands right now a known failure in the system and that company did not catch a prior record. Oh, i believe absolutely that as dr. Maxwell and his to change or fix if we can use that terminology that i believe he will step up and do what is right for children.
