Looking ahead to the forecast friday for the nats first playoffs game. But first tonight a Dramatic Development in the case of that missing uva student Hannah Graham. Good evening. Im derek mcginty. Im jan jeffcoat. Jesse matthew, the prime suspect, has been linked to the rape and murder of a Virginia Tech student five years ago at a 2005 sexual assault. Three cases, one important forensic link. Dan and Jill Harrington have been waiting for this day for five years. We always had it on the horizon that someday there would be an arrest and it would introduce a whole set of its own challenges. Reporter october 7 tonight, 2009, their daughter 20yearold 17th, 2009, their daughter Morgan Harrington vanished after attending a metallica concert. Her body was found dumped on a farm in albemarle county. The Virginia Tech junior had been raped and murdered. Law enforcement had the time to unravel this really tangled snarl of evidence, information. Theyve got plenty of time to sort it out and make sure that this is indeed the person who killed Morgan Harrington and who is responsible for the disappearance of Hannah Graham which is really paramount. Just like morgan Hannah Graham was walking alone at night also near the uva campus and Virginia State police have confirmed a forensic link. Morgans brutal murder was already linked to the murder of a woman in 2005 in Fairfax County. She managed to get away and give police this sketch of her attacker. A source told the daily mail the sketch looked eerily similar to Jesse Matthew and when he pointed it out to him five years ago, thats when matthew started growing his hair and shaved off his beard. Even though matthew was not charged in the murder, her parents feel some justice and want hannahs parent to get some justice as well. We know where morgan is. Hannah graham is still missing and her family needs to know where she is. The details of what this forensic evidence is not revealed, but cbs sources say in high profile cases its almost always dna. As for the search for Hannah Graham, crews have been canvassing areas on route 29 in southern albemarle county, still no sign of the 18year Old College Sophomore and alexandria native who disappeared 2 1 2 weeks ago without a trace. The Montgomery County father of two missing kids is reaching out to Maryland Governor martin omalley. Troy turner is pleading with him to issue an amber alert for sarah and jacob hoggle. Im going to ask him to do it for me. We need someone to step in, intercede and get this done so that we can get close to finding my children and bringing them home. The state and county police are sticking with their decision not to issue an alert saying the children were last seen with their mom, there was no immediate threat and there is no suspect vehicle to look for. The Governors Office issued a statement expressing sympathy and promising to continue to provide necessary support until this case is solved. Happening now Montgomery County police are searching for the attacker who stabbed a woman in silver spring. Police are looking for a man. The white house is supposed to be one of the most secure buildings in a very secure up to, but now we know not only did Omar Gonzalez manage to race 70 yards across the white house north lawn, but that while doing so he brushed right by a secret Service Officer who had his weapon drawn but who somehow didnt stop him. Not only that, but when he got to that now infamous unlocked door on the north portico, sources say gonzalez ran a lot farther into the building than previously reported sprinting right past a staircase leading up to the first familys residence. He overpowered a female secret Service Agent and was finally tackled by other agents after making it well into the east room. These new details paint a far more disturbing picture of security breakdown than the Statement Released by the secret service at the time which said that gonzalez was ultimately apprehended by officers inside the north portico doors of the white house. Today the agency said nothing citing the Ongoing Investigation which the white house says will further enhance security. Looking at the number of breaches in recent years, utah congressman Jason Schaffer says it better. One secret Service Agent that i talked to said we just keep getting lucky. We cant rely on luck. Reporter thats how long in a day the government determined one epa employee spent surfing porn, though its not a problem isolated at the epa as it has been found an issue at other agencies. Part of the consternation on the hill is the length it takes to get rid of offending employees. Congressman shaffer peppered the agency with questions because the porn surfer at this agency is on paid administrative leave. Why didnt you fire this person . I actually have to work through the administrative process, as you know. Reporter an fcc employee said he surfed porn on taxpayer time out of boredom because, get this, there wasnt enough work to do. That really is disrespectful to the people paying their salaries. Reporter now an epa spokeswoman says its policy already bans looking at porn at work.
