graham, the uva student from alexandria who remains missing tonight. i'm jan jeffcoat. >> i'm derek mcginty. it has been 11 days now since anyone has seen graham and tonight police released this new missing poster of the uva student updated with a $100,000 reward for any tips as to where she might be and now the se arch for graham and her alleged abductor have taken investigators 1,200 miles away. >> jesse matthew fled virginia to the bolivar peninsula. officers plan to head that way soon. >> our mola lenghi has the latest on today's arrest and continued search for hannah graham. >> that is still the outstanding question here, where is hannah graham? police meeting one step closer to answering that with the arrest of jesse matthew charged with abduction with intent to defile in graham's disappearance arrested at 3:30 this afternoon by galveston county, texas sheriff's department who the fbi is calling a heroing for tracking matthew down to a galveston area beef. why matthew was in texas -- beach. why matthew was in texas is unclear. this is video of matthew taken into custody by the galveston county sheriff's office. matthew is the man seen on surveillance videos with the hannah graham the last time she was seen. prior to today's arrest most of what police say they knew the hours before graham disappeared came from these surveillance videos they pieced together from charlottesville businesses. it was around 1 a.m. saturday, september 13, when graham and a machine believed to be matthew -- man believed to be matthew entered a bar where police say he bought her alcohol. 15 minutes later they left the bar. around 1:20 a.m. graham texted friends saying, with the i'm coming to a party, but i'm lost -- saying, "i'm coming to a party, but i'm lost." investigators believe graham got into matthew's car but was never seen again. matthew was seen saturday when he went to a charlottesville police station to ask for an attorney. police say former commonwealth attorney james camblos was hired and then mr. matthew sped away from the station. >> i am mr. matthew's attorney. i was hired by him and his family saturday. that's the only comment i'll make at this time. >> reporter: where is he? >> you stop this for a 2nd. what didn't you understand about what i just said. what didn't you understand about it? i mean you guys -- that's the only comment i'll make at this time. it's pretty clear english and i don't mean to be getting annoyed but i've been dealing with you guys for hours. >> reporter: this interview with camblos was done before matthew was arrested today and it's unclear if he knew where his client was. here's what we know about jesse matthew. until the alleged abduction he was a nursing assistant at university of virginia hospital and part-time volunteer football coach at a private school in charlottesville. this is video of him just last friday on the sidelines. we're told matthew attended liberty university in virginia from 2000 to 2002 where he was on the school's football team. again the obvious question here is what happened to hannah graham? where is she, questions investigators from charlottesville hope to answer as they head to galveston tomorrow. authorities are also waiting on forensic tests that are expected back as early as this week. they will be based on evidence taken from matthew's charlottesville apartment. here in our area the community where hannah graham grew up and played softball came out on a rainy night to rally for her return. >> reporter: i'm jim osman in alexandria on the night of a big break in the case, a packed auditorium hopes and prays to bring hannah home. [ band playing ] >> reporter: the west potomac high band played a hannah graham favorite as dozens and of dozens of parents and students held hope for hannah graham, class of '13 to return to her alma mater someday soon. >> i would encourage you to try to focus on the times you spent with her as a friend, teammate or musician. >> tonight i ask that we all share a hope that hannah will come home safely and soon, hope for the graham family that they can fine some comfort by the countless people across the nation who are continually praying for her. >> reporter: tears flowed on young face after young face classmate and teammates of hannah's. the starburst candies lined the cafeteria favorite, a hannah favorite. everywhere are reminders. >> it's been a really tough two weeks. >> reporter: good friend? >> so funny, the greatest human you'll ever have. >> reporter: a moment of silence and a ray of light cast off hannah's night as did their coach. >> each year i tell my senior as they graduate to dream -- seniors as they graduate to dream and to know that a light will always be shining brightly on our field for when they come home. >> reporter: a beacon of light calling hannah the metro area. granted it's green which is light, but it will pick up overnight. the latest models are in, not as heavy. we have rain in silver spring, downtown alexandria, out 66 and out route 7 and 50 and out also up to germantown and rockville. it's slow going tomorrow, hasn't rained in 10 days, so people, i'm sure, will freak out a little. the good news is by 6:00, yes, a wet commute and pockets of moderate rain but notice the shades of green. the yellow is north of us. by 8:00 yes, you'll have leftover showers but nothing heavy which is good. by 9:30 temperatures in the upper 50s to slow 60s downtown when the showers begin to thin out. i'm still digesting some data. this actually affects the football forecast. we'll come back and talk about that. win or lose, redskins fans might get driven crazy before they even get to the game. traffic shaping up to be a nightmare tomorrow night. besides football fans, expect a lot of baseball fans out there as well. the nats rained out apple store. today the president said the american military would work with allies to dismantle isis and its network of death. as bombs fell on fresh isis targets in eastern syria, the president was addressing fellow world leaders at the united nations in new york. the president asked for international support and was direct and blunt when talking about the most dangerous terrorist organization in the world. >> the only language understood by killers like this is the language of force. so the united states of america will work with a broad coalition to dismantle this network of death. >> right now the pentagon says the u.s. military and arab allies are targeting small oil refineries in syrias that isis uses to fuel and fund its forces. the pentagon says its bombing operation is part of a campaign to cut supply lines between isis and syria and iraq. illegal prescription drugs and firearms taken from what police say was like a flea market for drugs, the place better known as the yard, a secluded property off marlboro pike. prince george's county police say the yard drew sellers and buyers from across the area. the 60-year-old twins who own the property say the police are just making it all up. >> ain't no drug market here. >> that was a location where users and dealers come together and transact, make drug transactions, consume drugs. >> the twins who own the property are not charged in the raid, but police did arrest two other machine and they compact to make more arrest -- men and they expect to make more arrests we soon. next time you talk with a d.c. police officer smile, you might be on camera. police chief cathy lanier unveiled a new body camera program today, kos 1 million bucks, goes for six months and about 1 is -- costs 1 million bucks, goes for six months and about 165 officers will be wearing the devices. the chief hopes this puts to rest any debate about what happens to civilians and officers when they're out on a call. >> now they'll have a video. people's opinions often vary on a scene with interactions between a police officer and citizen, interactions with an officer in the process of making an arrest. so this gives us that independent unbiased witness. >> chief lanier says if it turns out there are complaints because of these cameras, that leaves more time for the cops to do police work. when d.c.'s inspector general come out with a report suggesting pretty much anything goes when it comes out to parking and speeding tickets, you can expect that inspector general to get grilled by city lawmakers. today council members ripped into a recent audit calling into question the way the district issues speed camera tickets. the inspector general's report said drivers sometimes get tickets for violations they never committed and cars they don't even own, not what the council wanted to hear about a major money making operation. >> this is not a game. this is not a got ya operation. i found some of the language used in this report kind of troubling. often, i'd like to know what often mean says. >> it appears from this document using words like unbridled in relationship to the head of law enforcement for the district of columbia that you stepped in with an ideology and you've created somewhat of a political document. >> lon anderson of aaa mid- atlantic told us the district takes in about $200 million per year in traffic tickets alone. with that much mula at stake anderson said he's not surprised the council took issue with the report. metro preparing to flip the switch back on to a system that should smooth out your train ride called the automatic train operation system or ato and it makes accelerating and braking more fluid with fewer sudden jerks and stops. metro shut it off after that deadly crash in '09 that killed nine people. metro has since upgraded its tracks circuitry and put in place new, better safety technology. so it's ready to give ato the green light once again. >> the new ride obviously will be a lot smoother because of the predictability that ato provides and the acceleration and deceleration particularly in regards to the station stop. >> metro will restart the ato on a hand line of red line trains next month. all red line trains are hoped to be ready by march and the system back online by fall of 2017. >> no, man. i might put it in my pocket and it will flex up against my pec and that will be the end of it. >> yeah. that will hurt it. tell you, what looking at rain overnight and good news, digesting new model information, less rain, maybe a few lingering showers until kickoff. let's start with a live look outside, our live michael and son weather cam, right now 68, temps not going to vary much the next 24 hours. relative humidity is climbing, standing at 68%. winds out of the north, northeast at 14 with us through tomorrow. it's kind of a nor'easter. thank goodness we're not trying to figure out how much snow is going to fall because the models are flip-flopping even though we're in the event. here's our first batch of rain last couple hours, generally light rain pushing north of d.c. west of i-95. we'll zoom in. light rain towards silver spring, rockville, germantown, activity toward sterling and chantilly and leesburg but nothing heavy. that said just go ahead and prepare for a slow wet commute. yellow alert early in the morning thursday, bus stop temperatures 54 to 64, going to be wet. take an umbrella if you're walking the kids to the bus stop. showers linger into the evening, but they're light. just an isolated shower possible for tailgating and kickoff, but now i would not plan around it, for the most part okay with temperatures in the 60s primarily. here's futurecast. 1:00 tomorrow afternoon look what happens, just showers to the east, some clouds, yes, and maybe by 4:00 a leftover shower, wouldn't get too hung up on the exact positioning, isolated shower possible. by 8:00 it's just got a couple showers hit or miss and just a slight chance of a shower if you're tailgating or by kickoff. by the 2nd half no worries, low 60s and kind of cool, 11:30 skies beginning toclear toward leesburg, fairfax and breaks in the clouds by prince george's county. if you're hope by 1:30 friday morning, partly cloudy skies. how much rain is coming? remember this earlier? we had 1 to 2 inches. now the model is going 1/2-inch downs town with the bull's eye up toward a beer -- downtown with the bull's eye up toward aberdeen. isolated shower towards the 1st half and cool, tailgate temperatures 65 to 70, game time temperatures in the 60s. day planner 60s to start, light showers now by 9:00, steadier rain out of here 6:00 or 7:00 and 64 at 11:00 and 66 at 1:00 with a few showers. look what happens. we finished the week strong, 78 friday, 80 saturday, so great for high school football. next season days we're okay, looking at temperatures going -- seven days we're okay, looking at temperatures going up over the weekend, nice for the finish of the nats season and the ravens, too. 80 on monday and temps fall a wee bit, maybe showers next tuesday and wednesday. risk of flooding is greatly reduced and isolated shower by tailgating time. that's it. >> i'm just loving the weekend, back in the 80s. right after the break kristen berset sits down with usa today columnist christine brennan to in cases of rape and incest, just like the right-wing republicans in congress. they want to overturn roe v. wade. so does she.
