outside, our live michael and son weather cam, temperature 32, dew point mid-teens, a pretty dry air mass, winds out of the south at 11. here's the radar, our first batch of snow from hagerstown down towards charlottesville moving pretty much west to east, will move through the metro area downtown and across 95 the next two hours. there's another batch of precipitation behind that. we might get two quick bursts of snow. i've lowered the snowfall totals. win chester, hagerstown, a little snow flying now in culpeper, leesburg about 30 minutes away as it moves right down to 66 toward town. headlines, a little snow overnight, a trace, 2 inches, and that's pretty far north to maryland/p. up near the amount border. allow a few -- maryland/p.a. border. allow a few extra minutes in the morning. a commute home fine, no worries, temperatures 46 to 50, no weather worries and we stay mild the rest of the week with temperatures at or above average right through friday. so a trace to an inch, generally less than an inch around the immediate metro area, up toward frederick and back toward westminster maybe an inch. back up in toward hagerstown and cumberland maybe 2 to 3 inches, back toward romney and that is about it. so again we're looking at kind of a nuisance snow, barely even a nuisance snow. so overnight cold with light snow, mix south and east, a trace to 2 inches, temperatures 25 to 32 for lows. here's a computer model. we put this into motion. only .4 downtown, a little light up toward martinsburg, but only an inch or 2 toward cumberland and oakland. that's probably the way it plays out going through the nighttime hours. either way it's over by 5 a.m. temperatures low 30s to start, mid-30s by 9:00. we're in the 40s by 11:00. that's a pretty good deal. we're in the upper 40s by 1:00. we'll probably cancel this yellow alert by 8:00 or 9:00 tomorrow morning. 53 wednesday, a few showers possible, 53 thursday with clouds coming in but mild. next seven days friday good news. we're near 60. bad news, it comes with showers, rain, maybe a thunderstorm on friday. we'll watch that for severe weather. still filed saturday, chilly sunday and -- mild
