Wow. I think what happened was, all right, we row solve to get it taken care of medically, i think she relaxed. Took the stress away. I think the stress can typically been the big deal. Back to tyra. Shes been, what a model since she was in her teens. Well, yes. Probably didnt want a baby are that was her career. And, you know, was there a man in her life at the time when maybe it was a good time . All of these things. But, it does bring up a good point. Because were you in a certain situation because were you married and you want add family. Yes, yes. She was not in that same situation. But she still did in vetro anyway. And she has accomplished a lot. She had her own talk show for awhile, went to Harvard Business school. Now she has another, so, i mean, she was busy living life. But i think thats the debate that a loft women have, like, okay, im focused on my career, focused on getting these things done, i push these things back, then i guess theyre wondering down the road, hey did i miss out, is it too late because of the clock everyone talks about, right . I think my cousin vinny, like this. Oh. All right. And then kind of along the same lines, decision to have a child of course as we just mentioned, it is pretty personal. So one of the biggest factors to consider of course we were just saying your career. There is another successful woman, gab re al union. She is on the cover of octobers red book. And she said there is a certain amount of shame that is placed on women who perhaps chose answer career over starting a family younger. The pennsylvanians for being a career woman, she says, is barren necessary, you feel like youre wearing a scarlet letter. She went on to say, as much as there are strides being made, you get pregnant, your career takes a hit. You know . You cant have a bad day. Dont you dare cry at workment dont raise your voice. Specially if youre a black woman in Corporate America. Now youre the angry black woman. Hum. Well, she got married to dwyane wade last year, and she had her own children. Just strikes me, we havent come very far as a society if were still dealing with i mean, you know, if you are a successful career person, and you choose to have a child, your career often does take a hit. Where as it is not the same for a man. But it is probably both. I mean, your priorities also change, too, instead of like, you know, are you staying working extremely late. You cant always do that if you have a chalks you slight to go well the woman who has the baby, the woman, after the baby is born, different set of circumstances. Still, probably not anywhere near where it should be. I believe it was president clinton who first pushed for legislation, to protect parents, and get them full pay for at least 12 weeks. I opportunity share a story with you guys that i had, a conversation with my best girlfriend last week, she was telling me that she wanted to be more involved with her sons soccer team. But in order to do that, she was going have to lever work maybe hour early one day a week. So she goes to her boss and she says, listen consideration we casino of compromise, i would rather leave an hour early maybe monday, ill a he stay two hours later, you know, another day during the week, her boss was like shrewd absolutely not. I cant let you do that. Why . So then she decided she made really tough decision in all of this, and basically decided im going to walk away from this job because my dad, you know, her parent already having health i shall youth. She like my family is more important than my career. I can go get a job at another place. Good for her. I cant take these memories that ill have with my children, so she often says to me because weve known each other since probably 13, 14 years old, she said youre so lucky you dont have to make those tough decisions. But avenue different set of issues than she does, as you know, chris, alex and sue, i am single, i dont have any children, but i live away from home. So even considering maybe, you know, starting a family, my family is so far, and you need that help and that support system and you dont have that when you are not living close to your family or you dont have friends in a city. So i think tough for women on both sides of the issue. I just think the perspective is different no matter who you speak to. I think youre absolutely right. It is tough. Where are the values in Corporate America sometimes . And sometimes my girlfriends tell me that you get punished certain scenarios when you dont have children because, you know, alex was saying, when in your Corporate America, able to stay at meeting, you know, late into the evening or come in early because they know you cant stay, you know, avenue child to take to the doctor or day care or to this or to that, then you are sort of punished way because you dont have children and you are single. So, it is a struggle on both sides. Being a parent, not ac parent, making the decision, when is the right time. Is there ever a right time . It is a lot of pressure, i think, on women. And two way street. I mean, for the employer, quite frankly, because on tuesday, toyed take my son to a doctors appointment. I had to leave early tuesday. But management so cruel about it, it makes me not care about putting an extra hours, because in our business you know there are breaking news things come up, you dont even care when they are cruel about your time, cool about giving back.
