I think it is clear that the majority of the teachers felt it was a strong opportunity for all of them. I want to go back to one thing. 95 percent voted for this. It is a strong contract both for teachers, strong contract for district and essential contract for our city where do we get money to pay for all this. Heres the thing it will cost School District 395 milliondollar and that is 245 million more it was budget ed for. A lot of money to make up for. Absolutely, thing noise contract has ever been prepaid for. There is not hundreds of millions of dollars lying around in the School District of philadelphia it will require city and state to step up. It is important for people to remember that we had a nine figure surplus that was carrying over year to year because we had position that is were not filled. 2600 kid at this time last year were headed to Summer School because they didnt have a teacher in the classroom for more than 23rd of the year this contract was essential to settle and to get us moving forward. It is important that the state does step up and that we fully fund fair funding formula that exist in the state budget. In the past harrisburg i dont know that they like philly so much.
