Us intelligence officials believe that russian president vladmeere putin was personally involved in the hacking, al next. And according to the report, russia did so with the intention of helping donald trump win and as a vendetta against hillary clinton. Jacky know youve seen this report on the new york times, quite lengthy. They seem to be so far ahead of us, maybe, partners, china, might be up in the same category here. They seem so much better when it comes to cyber attacks. Well, it is not that theyre bert. They are very good. Actually they are better than the chinese. Were also very good, too. The russians are extremely active in cyber espionage, active 20 years ago, we first really saw their activity back in the late 90s, when they were trading us navy documents from website at the Colorado School of mines in colorado. They took so many documents, that if you were to put the documents on top of each other they would be higher than the washington monument. So russians have been pretty pro live nick this area. Is there evidence they actually affected the election here in the states . We havent found any direct evidence that they affected the a electric election. We had forensic evidence that they were very involved in trying to probe different states, different voting machines, and approximately 24 states, i think they probably found their signature in illinois, arizona. And we also found that they were very active in probing both the dnc, hacking the dnc and the rnc. Both democratic and Republican National committees during the summer and even previous to that of 2016 and even late 2015. I thought, you mention, when they attacked, went in on the dnc, their systems, because in this article, it seems pretty simple. I mean, we have an example of the email that was sent to one the dnc officials say, hey, why dont you change your passwords . We all get these kind of emails, they change it thinking they were helping themselves from being hacked, but allowed them to be hack by russia. Yes. This is a classic fishing attack alex. When you sends a harmless looking email or email that looks absolutely perfect, to urine tended victim with the idea that they would then open the email, then open themselves up to malicious attack. In this case, an email was sent to the dnc actually to john pedestrian dpedsta saying his email was being hacked, and towed change his password immediately, click on the site then get to change your bass word password, that was done it, opened the door for the russians to come in, ex fill trait data from his personal account. They took over 20,000 of his emails. But jack, put up, we it briefly up there. I think whats different oral letter, concerning to me, for regular citizen like me that happens, i get fall mean this trap. And that the United States reserved the right to respond at the time and place of our choosing. Certainly the united state has very robust offensive tools in the cyber realm we could utilize against potential enemies. So where will this go . We dont know. Will something happen before the end of the Obama Administration . We dont know. Will something happen in the trump administration, again, unknown question right now.
