Controversy in ohio this morning after cincinnati zoo shot and killed a gorilla to protect a young boy that had fallen into the enclosure. Yeah, the four yearold boy fell about 10 feet basically into a mote. Somehow gotten into this enclosure. 400pound gorilla raced over to the boy and began, well, protecting him at first but then started to drag him around the even close another through the water. Zoos dangerous animal Response Unit was called and since the boy was in a life threatening situation they decided to shoot and kill the 17 yearold grill a they say a frank lighter would have taken too long and might have made situation more dangerous. Family of boy has released a statement saying that the child is at home and doing fine. In fact the child never screamed or cried but remained very calm, i dont know how. They are very endangered animals arent many in captivity the but but it had the proper ending. He was being dragged by the grill a then gorilla, took him to one end of the habitat, and then little boy started screaming again and gorilla drag him back again. Team chose to kill instead of the tranquilize the gorilla because it would have taken too long for the tranquilizer to kick in and zoo keepers were worried about the gorilla having an aggressive reaction to that tranquilizer while holding the boy. Thankfully family friend and First Responder john isaac was there and jumped in using a defribillator and cpr to get his heart started. He was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and had a defribillator in his shoulder no longer able to play sports he is working to become a referee.
