still developing this morning as soon as it comes in. an unlicensed cabdriver is in the hospital this morning, after being pistol whipped and shot during an attempted robbery. >> it all happened while trying to give two men a ride in west philadelphia lauren. you are live with more details >> reporter: that is right, alex. police have been working here overnight to gather facts what happened last night budd they are really looking forward to this morning when businessness that area opened after hoping to get their hand on surveillance camera footage. check out the video this black cadillac sedan with delaware license plates became a crime scene around 11:30 last night in west philadelphia police secured the car for their investigation near 52nd and chancellor street. the five five-year old man had been assaulted, shot, after he pick up two men. one jumped in the front seat. other hopped in the back and then this happened. >> the males get in the car to get a ride. they never announced where they were going. male pulls a gun out iron announced the robbery and starts whacking him in the head with the gun. he said this is the second offender in the back seat, he sees the victim fighting back, he fires a shot through the seat, abe then striking our victim, obviously in the back and he comes out the chest area police arrived on the scene and drives to 52nd and chancellor and they transfer him to penn presbyterian where he is stabilized at this point we don't i have good guess corruption, just two black maleness their 20's. we are looking for video to help us during the course of the investigation and hopefully we will find something that will assist us. that the point we cannot talk to the victim because he is still being treated medically. and that victim is in stable condition, so you are asking why did he pick up two men he didn't know? man is not an official cabdriver but he is well known in west philadelphia, for doing that type of work. police say, that as you heard they don't have any of good information about the suspects right now. they are just hoping that this incident was caught on cameras and that is their key piece of evidence to help them figure out who is responsible, and why. we know it always plays a vital role. hopefully they will that have surveillance videos or someone knows something and will come forward, lauren, thank you. up in castle police are searching for an man who attempted to kidnap and rob a woman at her apartment. >> last month there were two similar incidents in the area now they believe the same suspect is behind all three attempts. steve keeley is at the scene this morning with the very latest, steve. >> reporter: didn't take new castle county police too long to announce this is the same guy who did the same thing, on the 13th and 19th of february. so the headline is they have a serial attacker out on the loose still. sexually assaulted and robbed the other two women at two other complexions like this, last month, all within a 20- mile radius but he got away again but this time so did the young woman, before he could carry out what he had done before in the previous two attacks. would the man last night, another monday, like the first attack, and it was a sunday the second time and then like in all three guy had something covering his face, goes up to the woman here in this big parking lot here outside of her complex. you can see her building in the corner. right next to the wood. it is real dark. we have sunrise right now, as we see much more darker then this so she's walking up to her apartment, outside her door here at preserve at deck ons walk. he pulled a gun, demand money and begins forcing her into her apartment. they walk up that walkway you see there as they get to that outer door you see all lit up, it is about 6:30 at night. you can see, in our video that door you can see police fingerprint powder. that is there for a reason. they go there in that door. once they go up to her apartment, this guy, unbeknownst to him she lives with either a husband, boyfriend or roommate. police did not specify on. that there was a male acquaintance inside the apartment, scares the attacker off and runs out the door. they are hoping as he ran away and he didn't have gloves on and he pushed that door with one or both hand left a palm print, hand print or fingerprints in the middle of the glass. that is why they have the fingerprint dust there. in video number two as soon as that 911 call comes in police realize this fits same pattern that the delaware state police put up their helicopter. police start closing down the road, stopping everybody trying to either catch the guy or catch any witness that saw the guy running away or driving fast away to get a description of him or a vehicle. we don't know if they did or not. and they just know from the victim's here that this guy again, 5-foot eight, average build. again, covering the face. they are not ensure what race he is. all three attacks have been right after sundown, all within that same hour. it was 6:30 last night. previous two, 7:30ish. lots of police flooding the area. they stayed until almost midnight. we're right on shellden drive-in newark, perhaps a lot of these apartment complexions , off campus housing for the university of delaware. but delaware state police along with new castle county police all over this case and then again, the previous two attackses on the 19th and 13th while the last attack was in pike creek where we are right now every morning, at another apartment complex in the first six days before that second one was in holyoak about 20 minutes from here. so, alex and thomas expect another huge police news conference today, last one was at noon, hopefully we will get a picture or new information to help people catch this guy before another woman, gets a gun pulled on her at another apartment complex. >> we don't want this to happen again, for
