We see tow trucks as you see through the fence, over there, they sit, there and they wait for a morning drive accident, which bob kelly frequently talks about, this is one of the most accident prone corners here, vine street expressway, seventh street, and callowhill, and all of these places where everybodys coming off the bridge trying to go to 95 ever which way. So anyway, we walk, were in Convention Center parking lot. Look at this. This parking lot, spins back around, toward me, is one city square block. Seventh, eighth, callowhill, and thats actually called franklin street, which is really the roads leading to the vine street expressway. So, the City Councils going propose a law that says if anybodys going to tow anybody, they first have to get a parking ticket on that vehicle. Whether it is private property, or not. Even if it is in somebodys driveway in their house, the police have to be called in ticketed or the Parking Authority has to be ticketed. You cant just tow vehicles away willie philly any more if this all goes through. So a lot of people say thats key. Because a lot of times, cars are legally parked, being towed, and jeff cole coal showed that this summer. So, what im going to say to you, alex, mike, what the police told us today is this lot is being illegally used by tow operators as an impound lot, and you see that sign there, that says yard that stands for pennsylvania Convention Center. So this lot is owned by the Convention Center for the people at the convention if they need to store their trucks, buses or whatever here. But the tow truck guys who are all here all the time apparently according to the police know that nobody needs this lot or nobody uses it, and if it is not being used theyre going to use t then on top of this, even though they dont own this grounds have, no right to be here according to the cops that told us this, that theyre charging impounds fees for having somebodys car on land that they dont even own. How about that for a possible scam according to philly police. So they want us to look into this. And i sent email, hopefully jeff cole on. So what we heard from police is they have no right to use this lot, but somehow they have just squatted essentially on it, using this as an impounds lot. And then when that poor chevy owner and everybody else who gets towed here goes to get their car back, they get this big impound fee, and apparently, using this lot for free, from these tow trucks according to the police, these guys are able to charge impound fees to the poor people who get your cars towed. We dont know the fees. We couldnt get any information from that guy. And he hasnt showed up since. A second tow guy showed up, he didnt stick around long enough to even get a picture on my cell phone. So we got something going on here. And the police want us to get to the bottom of it. Williams was just short of completing his first year as an officer. He graduated from the new jersey state Police Academy in january to pursue his lifelong dream of wearing a badge. Prosecutors have identified the man who they say shot and killed a teenager in mayfair last week, 19 year old sam ear price, is facing murder and robbery charges, there he is. Police say he shot 14 year old ian littlesly last week in mayfair while trying to rob him. So this guy sam ear price turned himself into police. That was the day before yesterday. Cherry hill atm robbery suspect being held this morning on 50,000 cash bail. Prosecutors charging patrick urso with the crime.
