cancelled due to this storm we are live at philadelphia international airport with what you need to know if you plan to head south or anywhere in this country today. many flights go through atlanta, and atlanta will be affected by this big storm here. >> major hub. >> i'm feeling sympathy pains or something when i got up for people of florida no one will be wearing a tie in florida. >> is that your excuse. >> yes, it is my excuse it is friday october 7th 2016. mike and alex here, and we have sue serio. >> no, it is matthew. i heene folks just waking up wondering what is going on with this storm. hurricane is still a category three only 40 miles off shore from cape canaveral in florida, still high category three with 120 miles april hour wind. it downgraded in the overnight hours. all of the rain pushed on shore by this storm not to mention the wind and storm surge which is still very, very dangerous. the as we look at projected path it maintains a three status for a while and still makes that loopdi loop all the way around potentially coming back from the bohamas and florida but as a much weaker storm. temperatures in the 40's and 50's, bus stop buddy in his eagles gear, already for sunday's game. now long sleeves and jacket or sweater good idea this morning because temperatures are on the cool side much like they were yesterday 55 degrees right the now with 93 percent relative humidity. we don't have sunrise until an hour from now 7:04. forty this mount pocono. forty-six this allentown. chilly 47 this pottstown. fifty-two in wilmington. fifty-nine in wildwood. getting ready for mostly sunny day, close to 70 by lunchtime but probably topping off with another mild day at 76 degrees, your sunset time at 6:33. that gets you through friday. we have had a half an half weekend bob kelly and we will tell you which half gets the rain. >> 6:03 on a friday. we made it almost to the even of the the weekend, one more day to go and looking live up in king of prussia where roads are dry. overhead street lamps out up near allendale road for gang going to dover speed way no problems here on route one roads are dry, we are off to a good start off the 422 schuylkill i-95, no accident really to speak of but airline travel advisories up and down the east coast whether you are flying to carolina, florida or even out west, check with your and line and when they do get things backup and running and flip that switch they have to do staging there is in planes in that hurricane area so they have to get planes back in there and that may take the entire weekend before there any type of normalcy to air travel. campaign event joe biden coming to town at 11:00 at bucks county community college. it is lower bucks campus right here off of route 413 and i-95. expect delays with police, secret service before and after the lunchtime hour. mike and alex back over to you. what we will try to do all morning long here on "good day philadelphia" is show as many live shots as possible from the state of florida. a lot of reporters up and down this woman works for channel six down there. she is along the coast. it is being battered, has been all night long the east coast. miami is spared but once you get up around tampa jacksonville orlando even orlando so far inland, disney landis closed for only the fourth time in their history. so we have got you covered even though we are miles and miles away from this. president obama has declared a state of emergency in florida georgia and south carolina as millions are in the storm's path. >> sad news in the areas already hit by matthew haiti's interior ministry says at least 283 people are confirmed dead in the wake of the storm. that number is only expected to increase, first responders get to those remote areas left isolated by the storm. matthew smashed concrete walls, flattened palm trees and tore roofs off homes in the the country and flood waters wash out bridge necessary some spots. >> we will see you back here in a bit but lets give you news from here in the delaware valley. for those still in the storm's path they are told to get out. people along the coast in georgia, south caroline air expecting the storm to hit later today total of two and a half million people in the southeastern part of our country, are under order to evacuate. now it is almost too late to get out. but in south carolina nicki haley fears some people are not taking warnings seriously and staying in their homes. >> we need to have more people evacuating and this is part that i want you to think about, if you are still sitting at home, if you have in the evacuated gas stations are getting ready to close your pharmacies are getting ready to close everything is going to leave. >> so matthew is expected to be a category two storm and maybe stay at a three when it hits south carolina and dump at least 15 inches of rain on some areas my goodness. >> while south east is bracing for matthew some people from our area they are packing up and heading south. >> jenny joyce is on that story in delaware county, jenny? good morning mike and alex around 10:30 more than 16 peco employees will be leaving this eddystone facility here in delaware county, they will be packing up and making a trek down to either florida or georgia, in a 35 truck caravan. a digsly last night our cameras got video of the members of the pennsylvania task force loading up to head down to florida. this group of fire fighters left from northeast philadelphia and plans to do what it can to provide aid to struggling communities that will be dealing with the aftermath of this storm. yesterday we saw red cross volunteers loading trucks with supplies that will make its way to a relief center in columbia, south carolina red cross says it has hundreds of volunteers, helping the south right now along with the evacuation centers for anyone who needs to get out of harms way. >> one of the things that makes red cross so powerful is that we run toward danger, but we run for the soul purpose of helping our neighbors. we have a saying here that heroes don't wear capes. our heroes wear rests and they run into help neighbors. >> we have 500 volunteers across the south right now. we have 90 emergency response vehicles across the country in the the south now prepared to help and we are standing by ready to assist as needed. >> reporter: you saw experts say effects could yield one of the nation's largest power restorations ever, peco crews will spend two weeks at least helping these cities in the south get back on their feet mike and alex. >> good for them. coming up at 6:08. >> storm is messing up travel in and out of the philadelphia international airport. >> as you you can imagine many flights to the southeastern part of the country, flights to all sorts of places in the united states, are being affected by this. that is why we have sent our dave kinchen to philadelphia international airport where it is darn crowded dave? >> we're talking about flights to south carolina and georgia and not just florida. people behind me here are not going to any of those, they are not going to florida we should say but lets look the at the board here, list of departures and you can see what is cancelled right now. a lot of flights to orlando from a variety of airlines, frontier southwest american airlines cancelled the board just updated but as we come out to the folks this way we have spoke to people who are going to places like cancun their flights are not impact at all by is what happening with hurricane matthew but the big thing that the airlines, even our own bob kelly they always tell you to check your flights if you are going anywhere check your airline ahead of the time before making your way out best way to do all this although we can report that it looks like at this point airport officials say cancelled flights should come back on throughout the day, later in the day back to you. so many flights out of philadelphia go through atlanta to go to the midwest to the west, and can you pan over and go up to the a's is atlanta still in operation. i know miami said they might open later this afternoon. >> storm went over them. >> fort lauderdale said they may open up later in the afternoon. still going right here which is pretty good at least getting out from philadelphia to their. >> it will be one of those days where there is a whole crowd in front of the screens waiting to see those changes and see will happen to their flights. >> and delays, yellow and cancelled and red and just standing there looking like this. >> a lot of that for sure, alex. a judge ordered uber x to stop operating in the city of philadelphia but did it work? is anybody listening? an update on the going battle between ride sharing service and city, and drivers. >> time to get back to football eagles preparing to take on lions in detroit on sunday, they are looking to avenge an ugly loss last year do you remember thanksgiving. >> yes. >> what you can expect as we look to remain undefeated can wentz wagon carry on. that is a live shot from one of the stations up and down east coast of florida from central florida all the way up in to georgia and south caroline at hardest hit at this hour, 6:12 on this friday morning. well, judge puts brakes on uber x and lyft in philadelphia taxi workers alliance had sued in july and state lawmakers let uber and lyft have a temporary okay for democratic national convention but that expired last week. uber x was still operating yesterday but remember earlier how they were doing those sting operations trying to be uber drivers. now they will bring those backup. >> trying to shut them down over at 30th street station that wasn't working still see people getting out of uber. >> even doing sting operations, we are like we will see what happens because uber pays for the fine, the company so driver is like we can still keep driving. >> they will be hard to stop. >> 6:13. >> if they should be stopped. hurricane matthew hitting florida right now coming up we are live in some of the most affected areas being pounded right now, so many people without power folks say florida might ab affect for months by this storm. how tall are you? how do we measure greatness in america? the height of our skyscrapers? the size of our bank accounts? no. it's measured by what we do for our children. the values we pass on. i've spent my life fighting for kids and families and it will be my mission to build a country where our children can rise as high as their dreams and hard work take them. that means good schools for every child in every zip code. college that leads to opportunities... not debt. and an economy where every young american can find a job that lets them start a family of their own. we face big challenges, but we can solve them the same way families do. working together. respecting one another. and never giving up. i want our success to be measured by theirs. i'm hillary clinton and i approve this message. state of florida is getting hammered by math the you but don't sleep on the georgia and carolinas. >> we have fox's paul, in georgia and it looks like you are preparing for the storm to head your way. >> reporter: we sure are yeah we are starting to get beginning of the storm. we got out here at 4:00 this morning and it was just breezy. over past two hours thousand we are getting rain. it is raining out here and wind are picking up too. in case you dent know this area saint simons island is a barrier island on georgia and problem with this island is to get here you have to go over a series of causeways and bridges. because of that it will be dangerous to get back and forth. this entire area is under a mandatory evacuation. later this morning's mergecy personnel says it will evacuate too. so basically anybody that chooses to stay behind totally on their own because emergency services folks will leave and they expect they will lose power, there will not be any gas, lose water service as well. so the strong encouragement the is that people get off islands like this and wait out the storm. good news we have been here since 4:00 in the morning. i have only seen one on looker, following a storm like this we have people coming out wanting to see what the water is like, taking pictures but only one so far. it looks like people are heeding the advice. >> paul, i was just about to ask thaw, when we were talking about florida and other areas, main thing people are not paying attention to the evacuation and taking it seriously. do you feel in georgia people's vac waited. >> reporter: from what we have seen here's at the thing the message has been crystal career. we have heard it from the beginning. the governor was very, very forceful saying just leave there are six coastal counties here, everybody east of i-95 under a mapped try evacuation, west of i-95 under a voluntary evacuation and this county in particular there is no shelter here f people want to seek shelter they have to leave all together. so far this morning just from what i have seen it doesn't seem like that many people are left behind. that is the good news. fingers crossed that is case too because if you are here in the emergency people leave what are you going to do? you you will be stuck here with absolutely no help. >> that is for sure. >> we have got some smart people in georgia including paul paul thanks for spending sometime in philadelphia. >> yeah you got it. >> want to make a note that we are touching base with florida in just a few moments so good to see to have people preparing forstrom to come and also we will check where the storm is now. >> so lets check in on sues serio right now. >> hurricane center is giving updates on the the hour on this storm and latest, it is category three but it is only 25 miles away from cape canaveral, very close to making land fall. will it or parallel coast, we will watch it, and show you how far north some of that tropical moisture is spreading and as far north as north carolina and southern georgia. good news for miami at least that the hurricane watches and tropical storm watches have all been lifted but they do extend north to the carolinas about the central part of coast of carolina lets get to the weather for weekend. we have a possibility of the half and half weekend clouds and showers around saturday and then clouds to sunshine on sunday. a perfect day to day. temperatures in the 60's as we head into columbus day on monday. so a cooling trend over weekend, bob kelly. >> sound good, sue. good morning. starting to see beginning of the friday morning rush hour, here's a live look curb side at schuykill expressway, westbound, it looks like it is darker later during morning rush hour, westbound heavy boulevard out towards belmont avenue, ben franklin looking good, in problems just yet coming into center city philadelphia speed meadeer receipt goes normal here on the freeway from south jersey, new you accident in abington on edge hill road at the limekiln pike, pennsy turnpike looking good, but later on right after the rush hour olney avenue will shut down from third over to hasher, construction work there in the neighborhood septa's regional rails been a good week rail service returning to the normal service patterns, trains are back and running on the cynwyd line, free parking do not pass go, do not collect $200 free parking down there at frankford transportation center in northeast philadelphia and amtrak has suspended service all along that south east coast because of the hurricane so do contact amtrak for all of the information, now alex, back to you. well embiid and saric both making their debuts at home see how sixers rising stars did in their first appearance, on the wells fargo center court. good morning i'm sean bell. sixers still without jahlil okafor and jared bayless as both guys still recovering from injuries but should return soon, nothing serious but focus is still on joel embiid of course, but doing work in the post. solid, big man moves he was two for six, five points, three boards and a block. still rust. dario saric he has been playing well first two games look at that, and counties, hits the three he had 14 points, four board. he played best out of any sixer but they lose in double overtime 125-119. flyers in the preseason action off the power play against rangers jay voracek at right place at right time and gets the goal, and then later, voracek gets the steel, assist, gives to it travis konecny he scores, flyers win four-two. that is sports in a minute. i'm sean bell. i'm glad that the flyers, i have a viewer who tweets me every take but didn't mention flyers, how about the flyers. >> mark that down, 6:24 when it happened. 6:25 in october 7th this friday we have a great shot coming in from, well, you cannot quite see he just turned out his lights. we have a reporter that will flip his lights back on. he is being pounded in sanford, that we will take you their life in two minutes. than a decade. the hurricane matthew packing wind well over 100 miles an hour and up to a foot of rain, and right now florida is getting the brunt of the storm. >> it the is not the just coast but inland towards orlando where disney world has been shut down for fourth time in the history getting pounded, including a suburb of orlando, sanford. david williams is there. lets take a look at you what do you see. >> reporter: good morning, you can tell it is it is incredibly windy out here, maybe in the last couple seconds right before we talk to you the wind has really picked up. my hat just came the wind is really blowing really hard and trees here just bending in the wind there are there what i heard close to even a hundred thousand people, who are without power in this part of the central florida because that hurricane is coming up, our east coast. you are really feeling effects of that hurricane thankfully downgraded from a category three from what i heard this morning and i'm quite advised we have power in this part of the sanford which is a suburb of orlando. weaver one county inlet. my collogues out on the beach from what i have seen they have had incredibly strong wind in that storm coming in. there is a curfew on the roads affecting this part which is why you do not see anybody here but this rain and wind is just coming down and we are not even this is worst of the hurricane just yet but again you can just sianni you can feel it too how bad the wind and hurricane is, but thankfully it has weakened overnight but i guess this shot is self explanatory it is intense it really is, david. how far from the coast are you if it is that bad where you are, can you you imagine what it looks like on the coast? what are you about 75 miles from the coast or a hundred. >> reporter: no, no, no we are probably maybe less than 30 minutes inland. daytona beach is probably about 30, 35 minutes to our east. even so you can see how impact full this hurricane is, in this part and even inland central florida. we are live in sanford florida, david williams fox 29 news. >> typical florida resident there talking about instead of miles from the coast how long it will take you in a car to get there. it is like new york and philadelphia as well, talk about minutes instead of miles. good day what is this, friday. >> it is friday. >> feels like a friday because it is a friday, october 7th 2016. >> lets check with susan to see what hurricane matthew is up to right now. before basically it is only 25 miles east of cape can nav val so eastern edge of the eye of the storm is brushing the coast. it is not an official land fall yet but boy is is it close. there is eastern edge of the eye of the storm and see how calm it is in the middle, eye of the storm and there is cape canaveral so it is coming really close really close practically there. it is 6:00 o'clock update and we will have another one at 7:00. there again is that lawdi loop path of the storm it is expected to take, more on that later. bus stop buddy is off with temperatures in the the 40's and 50's but he is wearing his eagles gear so a sweater jacket, long sleeve shirt is a good idea. 55 degrees. we are heading to a high in the mid 70's, later on. sixty-eight by lunchtime. innings tour of sun and cloud throughout the day but another beauty just like yesterday but things will be changing over weekend we will talk about that and more about matthew coming right up, bob kelly. >> she's a beauty, do you remember that one. 6:32. good morning on a friday, live look at i-95 southbound heavy from cottman avenue in through girard the beginning of the morning rush hour as we head through construction zone, we have a pocket here coming up a and over the benny sign of things starting to pop there and coming in from new jersey on the freeway, starting to see delays where 55 and 42 come together. we will zoom into an accident at edge hill road and limekiln pike construction later on today will block ol any avenue between third and masher. normal service on septa's regional rail, been a good week. amtrak suspended surface long the entire coast and we have a campaign event to daze, vice-president joe biden coming to bucks county community college at lower bucks campus which is right here off of 43 and i-95. so expect some unusual traffic patterns and heavy police presence before and after lunch, mike and alex, back over to you. we have been talking about matthew florida dealing with hurricane matthew some people from our area they are passing out and heading south for help. >> why would you do that go in the mouth of the storm? jenny joyce who are these people. >> reporter: they are incredible first responders, mike and alex. so around 10:30 this morning we are expecting a 35 truck caravan of peco employees to leave here, this facility in eddystone, delaware county and head down to help cities affected by hurricane matthew. additionally last night our cameras got video of the members of the pennsylvania emergency task force loading up to head down to florida as well. this group of fire fighters left from north east philadelphia and plans to do what it can to provide aid to struggling communities that will be dealing with the aftermath of the storm. yesterday we saw red cross volunteers loading trucks with supplies that will make its way to a relief center in columbia, south caroline, red cross says it has hundreds, of volunteers, helping to see the south right now. >> we are mostly just running food back and forth to the shelters, for feeding in the shelters, so we won't be out in the field just yet because it depend how badly storm hits and how many people go back home. >> we can watch weather we can watch projections but until you get the in to the storm you really do not know what we do necessity is there will be a lot of people affect. we do necessity there will be a lot of people that need help. >> reporter: more than 160 peco employees will be on the road joining these crews they plan to make several stops before arriving in florida or georgia, and utility experts are saying that the effects of hurricane matthew could yield one of the largest power restorations in our nation's history, mike and alex. >> so many people will be without for for weeks or month. >> many flights are affected out of philadelphia a. >> talking about delays, cancellations. >> oh, yeah. >> we are learning now that even though that is happening there are some flights that will get back to normal today. so davis monitoring that at philadelphia international airport right now. >> reporter: we're monitoring airlines town south, fort lauderdale says their flights will come back on line miami says that their flights will come back on line and that is word from miami international airport. here in philadelphia and actual airport you can take a look at some cancellationness place largely for orlando right now. these are flights for later in the morning up to and it looks like about 9:30 or so but these numbers to keep changing. what you do see in terms of the people in line here at the airport these are people going elsewhere likely not down south. we have talk to some people who were going to cancun earlier, they said that they don't expect their flights to be impacted at all with you again we're talking about people who are also going to places like atlanta places like south carolina, they have been impacted in some way but according to what we're seeing it doesn't that that way. i have seen cancellations for well, i see one for savanna but otherwise st. augustine and also or land owe the big ones here. there was a cancellation to fort lauderdale still in place as well. check with your airlines if you are flying out today. we always say that but that is best way to do it to get up to date fur before you leave home, back to you mike and alex you can see there are some cancelled on there. >> understandable. search is on for three men wanted in connection with the shooting in fair hill, police say three gunman shot a 37 year-old man in the head and chest at the about 7:30 last night. medics pronounced him dead at the scene on the 2300 block of north reese street, so far no arrests. now to south jersey concern is growing after recent violence in millville. a lot of people shot, including one by a school. parents are pleading for help because they fear for children's safety. dozens of residents gathers at buck and foundry street where a man was shot on wednesday. one parent told us that there has been at least 15 shootings in the past six months, in millville. >> no one should be living under this, these are conditions of war. >> i worry about them every day between riding in these areas going back and for the to school, and i'm concerned about all of the kids in the city. >> quick shot of his son very concerned about his children. residents want to bring in a new technology to the area called shot spotter. it hopes in on where gunshots are fired. this particular technology can hear a gunshot and then tell police exactly where to rush to they want that in millville. >> um-hmm. >> coming up again, cancellations all along the east coast check with the airline, yeah, we have heard reports miami says it is below hurricane, and may start to get flights in and out and it will depend upon individual airline and just because they have flipped the switch doesn't mean we will be back to normal instantly. they have to to restaging they have moved all of the planes out of the entire path of hour. i want to show you where outer band tropical moisture reaches north carolina and even a little bit of virginia but still projected path still very far from frustrates still expect to turn southward so no hit from frustrates for matthew. power outage by 7:00 o'clock we expect to have widespread power outages right where we think land fall may be for this storm just south of daytona cape canaveral and moderate, as far north as charleston, south carolina and north carolina so what we're expecting for our weekend is this cold front to come through. high pressure will lose its grip after this was the game that ended his tenure. he had a couple more games after this but this is one that just stuck a little something in jeffery laurie's mind saying it is best to make change. >> chip kelly loss again. >> four in a row. >> good old college coach chip, ruining another team. >> own good thing about the game i like those cool black uniforms 49ers haddon. they looked good. >> they are in the good. >> they didn't play well. >> so lets get to this years game because speak of detroit the their former head coach coordinator jim schwartz is on fire. they are third in the league in stopping run. >> third in the league in stopping the run. they are aggressive. their secondary is covering everybody well, forcing turnovers, they have allowed a league high are league low and they
