i was doing cart wheels. the first thing that came to my mind was a quote from gerald ford, long national nightmare is over. happy new year philadelphia. the best thing of the eagles season was last night. i couldn't believe it. and while i'm shock he got fired, at least before the last game of the season really at all, there is a loft reasons why he got fired. i think it is a combination of things. number one, he clearly lost everybody at that nova care complex, nobody liked him from the players to the staff and even to mr. lurie. and they had a meeting yesterday reportedly, and the meeting didn't go well. i think lurie tried to get rid of chip's personnel power and chip with the reports, and then everything just went blah. and then another thing that i think was bad was his moves. i allude dollars to monday. all his personnel moves starting from the release of desean jackson where he got nothing in return, and he ended upgoing to a division opponent. trading lesean mccoy for a linebacker and kiko alonso, quite frankly damaged goods, not resigning jeremy maclin, when there is not a talented wide receiver on the team. cutting mathis the day before mandatory mini camp because he didn't show up to the involuntary stuff, but mathis with a going to apparently show up. chip just cut him. and replaced him with a back up guard. and then there was another one, brandon boykin. brandon boykin right before training camp started brandon boykin, best nickel quart nerve football, quite angry eagles corner crew was injured for a lot of the late part of the seats on, they could have used boykin. and the fact they didn't have him hurt. so all of those things combined, not replacing those players, and then the final straw, the nail in the coffin, saturday night eagles have a chance to despite bad season beat the redskins, give themselves a chance to make the playoffs. they didn't. the redskins walked in, beat the eagles on their home tough of, won the division, then desean jackson who this quite frankly started with, prancing around on the side line. >> put up the big l. >> sticking up the big l toward you and i, mike, karen, the fans,, to philadelphia, and to jeffrey lure. >> i i think it was to lurie. i think that may have been it. >> i agree. >> lurie is a fan just like you and i. lure say as well as an owner. when he saw that i think he felt frustration and anger that he just couldn't take it any more. and trying to get rid of chip's personnel power was probably his way of fixing it, quick fix. and chip didn't want that. so in the end, all is good. chip is gone. happy new year philadelphia. >> yes. i hate -- >> people are happy though. there is like renewed optimism. let's talk about. that will we'll talk about it more. i don't know why you. >> can't spell lurie without the l. that's for sure. dave, thanks for starting this whole thing. >> no problem. thank you. >> on monday morning. thank you. here's sue. >> all right, 18 minutes after 6:00. we're taking a look at the weather, which there is not necessarily a lot to look at this morning with all of the fog, but falling into the new year with falling temperatures. we had gotten used to those really warm temperatures last week, it has gotten little cool they are week. but it will get more seasonable as we get into early part of 2016. dense fog advisory in effect for right now. north and west of the city, these are the places where we're having problems with fog. lancaster, reading, trenton, allentown, pottstown, we had some fog earlier, getting little better there, but as we look at the future cast, we see that there is a little bit of rain, that should move into the area by noon, 2:00, and then a lot more rain by 9:00 or 10:00 tonight. and that's when the bulk of this cold front will come through, by 4:00 in the morning though when we get started for fox 29 morning news, should be out of here, we'll actually have sunshine in the afternoon, for new media circumstance thaws would have existed after the giants game sunday. obviously jeffrey lure had i made his decision. so why wait? this will be chip kelly's first losing season in both pro and college. coming to the eagles in 2013, the town was on fire with excitement about chip. the first two seasons, the eagles won ten games. but the last two, they did not make the playoffs. and didn't end well last season either. i hear lure had i been talking to players, on the team, to get a feel about the way things were going with chip. the feedback obviously not good. and it became more questions about his personnel decisions, and the way the team was being coached. and i think the washington lost just put icing on the cake with the lurie decision. i think it had been made before. vaux with chip, he said, next stop, he just wants to coach and insists he does not want to be the personnel guy as well. this is significant, according to jay glazer. so, if you were chip kelly, i using mass transit the city buses and trolleys are running on modified schedule both today and tomorrow. and then on new years day, january 1st for the mummers parade, will be running on sunday schedule, so keep that in mind. also putting extra trains on the subway, the market frankford line, and the regional rails, for everybody who wants to come in for the fireworks thursday night into friday morning. weather delays down at philadelphia international airport because of the thick fog, your best bet, check with your airline before you head on down there. the schuylkill not bad. but cataldi, didn't go to spring travel at sean mccoy trade either. nine and three after beating the cowboys last thanksgiving, everybody was high as a kite in it town for this football teamment then they just went one and four, no playoffs last year. >> if only because he was such a major pot of the thinking of the city of philadelphia, then in the snap after finger, he is not here any more. it is going to take a while for people to realize that he went from the playoffs his first year, to out before the third season was even over. that's fast. he left a mess at the personnel level. supposedly he created a culture for his style. now that style is gone. so the adjustment is not going to be immediate. i don't think any eagles fan out there this morning will say we'll get a new coach and contend for the superbowl next year. >> yes, part of the mess is you don't know who the quarterback is going to be. bradford just learned that chip kelly offense, so now either has to learn whole new offense, or not even stay here. and that's if the eagles want to keep him. then they have no second round pick this year in the draft that they start the rebuilding process. and they've gotten some great picks in the second round like lesean mccoy. nine and three, karen and mike, after beating you coast boss last thanksgiving, blew them out. everybody thinking superbowl. they went one and four scientist, and now, as of late, the fans simply have been mad. and that's certainly been the case here, 69th street station, people getting the news and they let out a check i have say what? they really can't believe anything, the timing of this specially, one of the big headlines for a lot of people, shocked this comes right before the last game of the season. they certainly weren't thrilled with chip kelly's performance on the field handling with players, mccoy situation, some of the other dealings there, as well. some good wednesday this year on the feel but not enough, so a lot of fans are saying, well, no playoffs? that means no more chip. >> you know that's how it goes, you know what i mean? you got to keep up with the business. you know? and i guess the owners feeling that he had to go, he had to produce, so that's how it goes in business. that's how they do it. >> i feel like we can get rid -- like we got rid of andy reid, everyone so relieved. chip kelly next, so relievedment then the next guy, say he is not as great as they want him to be, now north witch hunt. >> i'm shocked. i really thought this they would give him like maybe another year or two. >> you know, that gentleman mentioned andy reid who was doing the dab, of course, after big win few days ago. a lot of people wondering, you know, and i read probably thinking how do you like me now? a lot on the parade route. >> really, see how that goes. 6:39. philadelphia police now have one person in custody, in connection with that rash of propane tank thefts in the city. >> this is significant. because we were concerned about homeland security issues. we were there, as police and homeland security search every two cars, they thought were connected to these thefts, sources say, they recovered most of those stolen tanks, at a scrap yard along the 2600 block of wheat chief lane. they are getting warrant on that one. also looking for a second guy, sources say, they do not think as it turns
