Thanks, bob. 5 03. We are following breaking news an unlicensed cabdriver is in the hospital after being pistol whipped and shot during an attempted robbery. It all happened while trying to get two men a ride in West Philadelphia our Lauren Johnson at Police Headquarters this morning. What all went down here, lauren. Reporter right now police are hoping these business that is open later this morning will be helpful for them in their investigation. They want to get their hand on surveillance camera footage. Heres what happened. Take a look. This black Cadillac Sedan with delaware license plate became a crime scene around 11 30 last night in West Philadelphia police secured the car for their investigation, right here near 52nd and chancellor the five fiveyear old man, driving his car was assaulted and shot after he picked up two men, one man got in the front seat, other got in the back seat and then this happened. It looks like males get in the car to get a ride, no word where they were going when male pulls gun out and announced a rob rip and starts whacking them in the head with the gun. Second offender in the back seat sees victim fighting back he fires a shot through the seat, striking our victim obviously in the back and comes out his chest area. Police arrive on the scene, he drives to 52nd and chancellor and they transfer him to penn presbyterian where he is stabilized at this point. We dont have a good description. We just know two black male. We are looking for video in the area to help us through the course of the investigation. Hopefully we will find something that will help us. So he is being treated medically the victim so we cannot talk to him just yet. Reporter that victim is doing well considering what happened, the man though is not in an official cabdriver but he is well known in philadelphia for doing that type of work. That is why he allowed those two men to get in the car. Police say they dont have a good description of any suspects at this point. They are honing that this incident was caught on camera, many businessness that area do have surveillance so they can get their hand on the footage and find out hoist responsible , for this, shooting. Last month there were two other similar incidents in that exact same area. Investigators think those same suspects are behind all three. Reporter we have the word that we dont like using and dont overly use it but this word is definitely going to state in this case. They have a serial style kidnapper on their hand in New Castle County. You can bet that the police are going to take this even more seriously then they already were. I talked to them after the second one and they were doing everything that they could back then, while New Castle County police say that this is the same guy, and he came here this time, and third time, pulling a gun on a young woman , living in this large apartment complex. We will pan around here. She was out here in this dark parking lot not a lot of light where cars parked only on the buildings as she gets out of her cara approaching her building. Notice her building is way in the back. There may be 20 buildings like this in this huge complex. Look to the left of her building, dark wood. He chose this building, the reason and just waited for somebody to come home. How long he has been here stalking this victim . Who knows. He could have watched her return home a lot. By the way all three attacks always happening at the same time, in the same hour, february 13th, 19th and last night, between 6 30 and 7 45 right after dinner time when sun goes down. Two on monday nights first one and last night, one in between , the sunday night right after the first attack and then that sunday before president s day. The difference though this time, he pulls a gun on the woman in the parking lot. They go in the out are door which looks like a boardwalk kind of. They go in that door with eight apartments. Three Story Building and stairwell up and down. We dont know what floor she lives on but as they go into her door this woman apparently lives with a man. Police were not specific, husband, boyfriend, roommate. Seeing and hearing that guy as they open up the apartment door this attacker gets scared off and runs away. Now look at our video. We showed video, and police are hoping he ran out and maybe had given a stiff arm to that front grass door with the metal railing on the way out, if not wearing gloves, may have left a good palm print or fingerprint so the detectives are fingerprint dust still very visible on the door left from their investigation that went almost to midnight last night. As soon as that 911 call came in heres our video number two from sky fox you can see police hit this area to preserve at the walk with a new name over the sign, hoping to get guy, or a witness who saw his getaway vehicle as he hauled out of here. Also in the news a day care worker fired after Surveillance Video catches her pushing a child down the stairs. She says it is not what it looks like. We will show you the suspect five twoyear old sarah gable now facing criminal charges. There is a Surveillance Video that caught her pushing a four yearold down the stairs at the child care of the future Day Care Center in upper darby where she worked. That is what it looked like. The staff says the camera was only put in 30 minutes before this incident because kid play in that area centers manager says that she tried to blame the little girls shoes for that fall. She tried to blame it on her shoe. She pick it up and come to the end of the stairs and said it is not her shoe. I just watched you on camera do it so dont lie and say it was her shoe. That was very troubling news and very disheartening because these kid are so gentle. Gable has been fired and charged with simple assault and child endangerment. It happened about an hour ago involving an overturned vehicle. Still crews out here combination of getting the car out of the grass median, investigating but road are wet dam this morning. Be ready. Accident on the southbound northeast extension right at mid county, and route 70, eastbound over here in haddonfield, new jersey right at route 41. Investigators are trying to figure out how this four alarm fire happened in northeast philadelphia Fire Fighters were still dumping water on hot spots late last evening after this fire. Smoke from the objecting was h ab physical therapy and Fitness Center afc responded for miles. It started around 11 30. Building is located at grant avenue and it burned for more than two hours. There were several people that were inside the pool doing physical therapy, when this all started. I grabbed my sweat shirt and ran. I was shivering until they gave me this blanket. Luckily for our Therapy Staff we didnt have that many patients. We got them out of the pool, out of the clinic closed system down and made sure staff was out and we were outside very fast. It looked like a small fire but it was within five minutes the whole roof was just in flames. Great work getting everybody out. Medics did take two people to the hospital for minor injuries. Normal ride turns into anything but for an uber driver in montgomery county. He said his passenger tried to choke him with the seat belt. Police say five twoyear old andre shoelick was hopping in the uber ride friday night when he got angry with the route that the driver was taken in huntington valley. He cursed at the driver and then wrapped the seat belt around his neck. The driver knocked him out and called police ended up arresting the passenger. Police say victim used face time to contact a relative after an assault at the motor inn over on route one. Family member then called police and officers got there within minutes. They found that guy, the suspect arrested him. He is 25 yearold jaron thomas he faces several charges including assault, the victim suffered minor injuries. Search, also on, for three men who broke into a chick fill net Port Richmond and tried to rob the place at 4 00. They smashed right through the glass front door in the 2300 block ofe butler street. They tried to take the Cash Register and break in the safe but eventually gave up, and then left with nothing. Now to police chase in darby this started at giant supermarket parking lot and ended when driver crashed in the home on the 1200 block of old lane street yesterday.
