Lets get to this developing story. Because police are investigating a fatal police shooting, it happened in newark, new jersey. Prosecutors say there were two officers who shot officers shot two men while responding to a report of gunshots on tuesday afternoon. One man was killed. Another is in critical but stable condition. We dont know what prompted police to open fire. Also, a former Philadelphia Police officer, now facing attempted murder charges, for trying to gun down his teenage son . Prosecutors say 46 year old door yan young was off duty on labor day when he began arguing with his 19 year old son, devine, inside their house on taught on street. The district attorneys offers says the officer pulled out his personal 40 caliber handgun, and shot twice from a seated position. Investigators say one shot went through his own shoe, the other struck his son. Is there there was a suggestion that there was a tussel over the weapon, and weapon discharged. Based upon the scientific and physical evidence, that was an impossibility. The son was shot in the back. What we know at this point is that this was an accidental shooting that occurred during the course of a domestic struggle between a father and son. Accidental . It is an accidental shooting. Young is a 25 year veteran, retired from the force, just ahead of the charges yesterday. His son is still recovering from the gunshot wounds that injured his spleen and part of his colon.
