Investigators say improperly discarded smoking material start that fire that gutted that stretch of rowhouses last thursday. The fire damaged eight homes, forcing nearly two dozen families and people out on to the street. No one was hurt. But those homes are a total lost. Were learning this morning two teenage arson suspect are in Police Custody in tennessee, accused in deadly fires that claimed the lives of more than dozen people last month in the great smokey mountains. Two arson arrests wednesday in the deadly fires that swept through eastern tennessee in late november killing 14 people. We are pleased to announce that two people have now been charged for their role in store being starting the fires. Unfortunately, these two individuals are juveniles. The flames forced thousands of people from their homes and damaged or destroyed more than 1750 buildings, including houses, and businesses, in the gatlinbburg area, first spotted inside the great smokey national park. This morning two juveniles were taken into custody by the Tennessee Bureau of investigation on allegations of aggravated arson relating to a fire that originated in the chimney top area of the Great Smokey Mountain National park. The suspects are now in a juvenile detention center. Both are from tennessee but not the immediate area. Additional charges are being considered and all options available to the state when dealing with juveniles are on the table. Including the possibility of seeking a transfer of these juveniles to adult criminal. The law prevents them from releasing more information including suspects ages, but investigators say public tip line has been helping them. The public was.
