right now hurricane matthew maximum sustained winds at 75 miles an hour. it is a category one storm. still doing a good deal of damage moving east northeast at 13 miles an hour. so slowly making that easterly turn that we have been waiting for. when you look at all the rain associated with the storm you're talking about inches. you can also see lightning associated with it, and with the on shore flow tornado watches and warnings. the moisture streaming up the coastal plane from philadelphia south and east that's where we expect the heaviest rain. this front moving through helping to squeeze all the moisture eastward. so that rain will continue into the late night hours the overnight especially right along that i-95 corridor to the south and to the east. as a matter of fact we have a flash flood watch in effect for central and southern delaware until noon tomorrow for an additional one to 3-inches of rain. heavy rain already fallen but this will be the bulls eye in our area for that tropical moisture. right now, it is 66 and very muggy out there in philadelphia. 67 in millville. 66 degrees in reading and poconos it is 61 degrees. if you're going out this evening, big saturday night expect light rain especially in the philadelphia area. heavier in south jersey and delaware. the showers continue at 9:00. even until the 11:00 o'clock hour but notice the temperatur temperatures. it stays pretty mild, joyce,. it's because of that tropical influence from matthew. tomorrow a different story. the sun returns. we'll talk more about that with the seven day when i see you later in the broadcast. >> all right, thank you, kathy. now for the latest on hour hurricane matthew is a affecting other areas of the east coast. the storm forcing evacuations and leaving hundreds of thousands of people south of us in the dark at least nine deaths so far in the us are being blamed on the hurricane. three are dead in north caroli carolina. six lives are lost in florida. the storm has brought heavy rain damaging winds and severe flooding up and down the coast. officials are still warning residents about dangerous conditions even though the hurricane is los losing strengts kathy told us. >> and what i am going to ask for you is patience. most injuries, most spray fatalities occur after a storm. because people attempt to move in too soon. do not plan on going back home today or tomorrow. it is not going to be safe for you to go in. between downed power lines and trees, um, and then just unsafe structures, bridges, all of those things, i know you want to see your home. i know you want to get back. >> fema officials say many of these areas are not -- have not seen this kind of flooding in more than a century. matters are far worse in haiti the number of people killed is already into the hundreds. more than 300. they are trying to clean up and save whatever they can. make sure you keep up with all the developments from hurricane matthew on the air donald trump as a fire storm bruce on the campaign trail. calls on saturday for donald trump to step down after leaked audio from a conversation he had in 2005. bragging about his treatment of women. reporter: the trump campaign immediately going into damage control with trump releasing a video statement around midnight apologizing. >> anyone who knows me, knows these words don't reflect who i am. >> reporter: backlash was immediate. hillary clinton tweeting "this is horrific. we cannot allow this man to become president ". >> this is behavior that's just outrageous. i'm sad to say i'm not surprised. >> reporter: but potentially more damaging is the fallout from republicans. his running mate mike pence releasing a statement saying he does not condone the remarks and cannot defend them. rnc chairman priebus saying "no woman should ever be described that these terms or talk about in this manner ever. paul ryan saying he is sickened by the remarks. senate majority leader mitch mcconnell calling the remarks rei pug gant and unacceptable in any circumstance. and utah representative jason cheh vets going so far as to rescind his endorsement. >> i'm out. i can no longer in good conscience endorse this person for president. >> reporter: donald trump saying in an interview today that there is no chance that he will drop out of the race. the second debate is tomorrow night. in st. louis, jennifer griffin, fox news. meantime bernie sanders, senator stumping in philadelphia today for hillary clinton. the trump video as you can imagine on the minds of many people who attend. let's get straight on out to fox 29's sabina kuriakose. she's life on age broad. how was it out there? >> reporter: well, joyce certainly a lot of rally goers talking about that controversial trump video and a lot of people i spoke with actually said that reinforces of course their tradition -- their decision not to vote for trump while others, though, express sympathy for his family. let's go to video of the rally for bernie sanders with bernie sanders former democratic presidential hopeful in town campaigning for his former rival hillary clinton. rally goers included diehard sanders supporters who are slowly switching gears as well as long-time clinton backers rallying with the democratic base. now, not far from their mind that storm surrounding donald trump lewd recorded comments he made about women that were just released. democratic voters we spoke with say the recording reinforces their decision to vote hillary even if they had reservations about her in the past, others express sympathy for trump's family. >> i do think this would be great election for the democrats to have a strong obviously. if they do continue with senator sanders progressive stances, his ideas and momentum that he had throughout his campaign, i think that hillary can accomplish some things. >> some of these exposes must be very difficult and hillary and bill also seen -- experienced some of that and yet i think it's going to be good for everybody. it's coming out. >> reporter: of course, this latest stop was just one on a tour that sander social security doing around the country to rally support for hillary clinton. though, some diehard sanders supporters that we spoke with at todays rally tell me they're not yet ruling out voting for third party candidates like libertarian johnson or green party candidate stein. >> back to you. >> voter registration deadlines are right around the corner. pennsylvania voters you have until tuesday october 11th just a couple more days. in delaware, the deadline is october 15th. and new jersey voters your deadline is october 18th. make sure you sign up. and the second presidential debate now just one day away. as you know you can watch it all right here on fox 29. it gets underway at 9:00 o'clock sunday night from washington university in st. louis. two people are in critical condition following a shooting overnight in port richmond. police say they have a weapon and they've made arrest after somebody opened fire inside a home on the 300 block of cambria street. 18-year-old man and 22-year-old woman were both hit. they were taken to temple university hospital. no word tonight if any charges s have yet been filed. in delaware, police say that they have a suspect under arrest in connection with a murder that happened back in july. prosecutors have charged 43-year-old steven pierce with first degree murder among other charges. authorities say he killed 31-year-old heather stamp per in delaware city. she was badly battered. pierce is being held on $2 million bail. and in trenton investigators are trying to figure out what caused the fire inside a row home around 5:00 in the morning on the 100 block of holme avenue. fire spread quickly to the connecting homes on the block. fortunately, everybody got out safely. but all of them got out -- are being helped now by the red cross. she lived a nightmare for years. a local woman making a warning with everybody parent and teenager going online. her advice to keep you and your children from reliving her horror. bad guys taking advantage of some people getting out of the danger of hurricane matthew. what they stole from a hotel full of evacuees. plus, halloween revelers are gearing up for scary night but this year some creepy clown scares on social more now on hurricane matthew. this as rescue teams responding in flooded areas in georgia today. the deadly storm has weakened. it's now a category one as it moves up the atlantic coast. but officials are warning residents not to return home just yet as flood threats rema remain. after killing hundreds of people in haiti, the storm is now blamed on at least nine deaths in the us. now many people who evacuated their homes ahead of the storm found themselves targeted by thieves. fox's marissa mitchell reporting on what happened to evacuees staying in a hotel in georgia. this is one of those classic examples were certain predators, criminals come out during take advantage of those who are trying to evacuate or leave their homes. >> reporter: ultimate crime of opportunity henry county police say four thieves in this silver truck new exactly what they wanted early thursday. they hit the fare bridge inn on highway 20 in mcdonough. officers say in this surveillance video you can see one of the crooks dressed in a black hoodie at work. >> they tried to get into the trailer itself and when they realized they cannot they took the whole trailer. it was not secured. >> reporter: captain joey smith tells fox5 during the crime unsuspecting victims slept inside the inn after a long ride from south carolina. they tell fox fox5 that thievest away with everything from two televisions and clothing to a four wheeler an man's passport. we spoke with the victim and his friend over the phone. >> they don't know what really happening. >> reporter: both say the man his wife and child returned to south carolina after the incident and decided to ride out the hurricane. >> always be aware of your surrounding. there are individuals that will take advantage of you during this time, and the things that are most valuable to you you have to keep them with you. >> police believe as many as four suspects may be involved in stealing that trailer. a big day at penn's landing. uss murtha was economicked today. ceremony brought out revelers from all over the state as they told our jennifer joyce they were really proud to be there. ♪ >> reporter: a formal ceremony at a penn's minority leader nancy pelosi were present to pay tribute along with hundreds of others. >> we're really excited and really proud of him. >> reporter: it's an important day for the jones familiarly from houston cj and deanna's jack see palmer is about to embark on his first mission with the navy. >> my wife actually left orlando in the hurricane. >> evacuated early. >> i was in north carolina. so we did a lot of things to get here. i tell you for these young men and women interested in serving their country in today's world is really special. >> reporter: from here the ship will head tots home port in san diego where the marine corps and the navy will begin a year long training cycle before any potential deployment. the might tow war ship is available for public tours this weekend in philadelphia. but will ultimately be used to transport and mobilize amphibious assault vehicle and aircraft like this v22 osprey for u.s. marine corps missions around the world. it's complex and state of the art. >> it can do everything the marines can possibly want to do. that makes it special. ♪ >> reporter: reporting from penn's landing, jennifer joyce, fox 29 news. hundreds spent the morning on independence mall for very good cause. it was the annual vision walk philadelphia benefiting the foundation fighting blindness. fox 29's chris o'connell out there getting the crowd going. hey, chris. he served as the vision walk's media chair. foundation helps to raise money and research to find cures for retinal diseases and other forms of blindness. another walk for an important cause today. this one in wissahickon park. hundreds out for the annual miles for migraine walk and run. it's about raising awareness and money for research for more treatments and hopefully to find a cure for migraines. local hospitals including chop and jefferson are big part of today's event. each of them donating more than $10,000. and in camden, one university is giving back to alum. rutgers has just dedicated its first on campus alumni house. the school renovated the historic red cross building just in time for homecoming. this project which costs more than $2 million was supported by new jersey's higher education bond act. caught on camera, a man goes on attack at a gas station. you see him kicking the clerk while he's unconscious. tonight what police say helped them to get this guy this guy frederick cato behind bars tonight. they arreste arrested him in con with this assault you see here on the surveillance video wal walking into a chevron punching a 56-year-old clerk several times. knocking him to the ground. and then he kicks him after he's already unconscious. police say neither cato or the woman he was allegedly with that night would answer any questions about the brutal attack on a complete stranger. creepy clowns aren't anything new around halloween but this season scary clowns are taking a whole new meaning following series of clown threats. fox's matt ackland shows us how some businesses are responding to this. >> reporter: here at mark off's haunted forest one they know they know for sure clowns scare people it seems like everyone is talking about it this year. and that is why this clown display take look at the big top here continues to grow. there's more to see here and more to be frightened of. at mark off's it's all fun and games. people actually pay money to be scared by creepy clowns. >> we're just constantly trying to make it more and more like a real carnival. so it's not just simply a theme. >> reporter: what is it about clowns that creeps so many people out? >> definitely something that gets attention. >> reporter: law enforcement aren't laughing about what appears to be a creepy clown trend. in richmond two people were arrested for dressing as clowns and chasing kids. schools had to be closed outside cincinnati today after a woman said she was attacked by a creepy clown and the clown made threats against area schools. >> trying to scream because i knew my daughter was right inside the window, and my window was open, but i couldn't get anything out because it was squeezing so hard. >> reporter: louisiana sheriff put this picture and note on facebook recently after two people just dressed up as creepy clowns and just walked into a store. they were ordered out by the owner. you may not know it wearing mask is illegal in many places in the dc area. we checked. the district and virginia do not allow those older than 16 years to wear a mask with some exceptions. halloween approaches it's likely more creepy clown spottings will be happening. back at mark off's their suggestion, leave the creepy clown business to them. you won't be disappointed. >> you should expect to need a new pair of pants. >> reporter: some people say forget it i'm too afraid of clowns i'm not pull coming in here altogether. they have panic attacks. they have to be escorted all the way around here to other sections of the haunted forest. in fact, organizers say about eight to 10 people each night say no way i'm not going in the clown house. she lived nightmare for years. now a local woman's warning for every parent and teenager going online. her advice to keep you and your children from reliving her horror. plus, flooding threatens parts of the south east as hurricane matthew moves along the atlantic coast. we have live report coming up from savannah, georgia. that's straight ahead. kathy? >> flooding rain out of south carolina right now but the effects continue. also seeing rain and wind through north carolina into virginia and a flood watch in effect for southern delaware because of matthew. i'll show when you all this moves out coming up when we come back. ♪ z/ ♪ people in southwest haiti are digging through the wreckage of their homes after hurricane matthew left behind a path of death and destruction earlier this week. more than 300 people are repor reported dead in the country. thousands of the homes are destroyed. many are running low on fuel and help is pouring in. some volunteers and american missionaries are leading the way to help. >> closer we got to jeremy the further of part i was prince. there was complete devastation. anything that was not concrete was flattened. the palm trees were bent over in half or completely ripped to their leaves. there were several little fis fishing villages that just looked desolate. >> on top of that, haitians are now at an increased risk for cholera. the un is causing this the worse humanitarian crisis to hit haiti since the 2010 earthquake which killed thousands of people. hurricane matthew is continuing along the eastern seaboard tonight and the deadly storm is leaving devastation in its path. fox news correspondent joel waldman he's live in savannah, georgia, night right in the middle of it all. how you making out, joel? >> reporter: joyce, thanks for asking. we're doing pretty well here. we're still without power at our hotel and conditions you know for the move part not too horrible at least not in this second. i'll show you some of the dama damage. this is a traffic light that came down at the height of storm last night precisely why officials tell you to seek shelter. so something like this does not fall on your head. right now, the real assessment of hurricane matthew begins. >> the most powerful atlantic storm since 2007 left major flooding and wind damage in its wake. >> we still are in a dangerous situation. >> reporter: matthew knock out power to more than a million people as it blew through one southeastern coastal city after another. it's being blamed for multiple deaths in the us. >> hopefully, as people get their power back we'll be able to get people back in their homes quickly. >> reporter: governor rick scott of florida says more than 6,000 people stayed in shelters overnight. he appeared relieved saturday that the storm cannot done more damage. >> we are all blessed that matthew stayed off our coast. >> reporter: matthew raked georgia and south carolina with torrential rain and stiff winds. >> some areas were not as severely impacted but i do not by saying that want anyone to abandon the caution that is associated with this aftermath. >> reporter: packing winds of 75 miles an hour, parts of the carolinas are still bracing for matthew's impact. >> a lot is still going on whether it's winds or rain. we're on the out of the woods. >> reporter: live shot that is actually part of a roof from an out back steakhouse. some as you can tell actually blew across the street all the way over here. meanwhile, we have to report that at least one person has died in savannah. they're parent until their house when a tree fell on the home causing some structural damage. also getting word of two other deaths here in georgia and at least three in north carolina. meanwhile the storm is expected to go out to the atlantic and weaken the forecasters are saying there's a chance it could boomerang back and hit florida again sometime next week. joyce. >> sure hope not. we're glad you're safe. thank you, joel. and now to your fox 29 weather authority. a soggy day at penn's landing. umbrellas and autumn jackets all around. meteorologist kathy orr is here. kathy, matthew is knocking at our door now. >> absolutely, joyce. this moisture is from matthew. and a front that's combining to enhance the moisture. you can see when you look closely all of this yellow, red and/or ranch that is all the heavy rain obviously from matthew bit it's very warm moist air and when you see this box, this is actually a tornado watch box, as the storm continues to move toward the northeast, with this flow on shore. there is a risk with the spinninspinning or to create soe tornadoes. we're keeping an eye on that. there are tornado warnings as well. the moisture moving all the way up through central earlier today even western parts of virginia, west virginia, through maryland and also south jersey, delaware and the delaware valley specifically the i-95 corridor. right now, our storm is centered at 33.8 north. 78.2 west which is right over pretty much the coast of wilmington north carolina with all that heavy rain. ahead of it moving toward the east northeast finally taking that easterly turn out to sea with a maximum sustained wind of 75 miles an hour. but the rain has created huge problems with flooding in north south carolina and also obviously the wind down through savannah. we do have this water vapor imagery to show you all of the moisture heavy moisture, colored in the blue and also that fuscia but look at this. this is cool dry air coming in right behind it. so as soon as this warm moist air moves out cool and dry air will replace it as a matter of fact central part of the country we have frost and freeze advisories so it's like the tail of two seasons going on here. hurricane matthew continues to move toward the east northeast as i mentioned about 13 miles an hour. these are the tropical storm heavy gusts near cape hatteras 58 miles an hour gusts where you see the yellow that is tropical storm force gusts 39 miles an hour or greater, and this is going to continue through tomorrow morning and final until bulls eye that core of heavier wind will move out to sea as the storm continues to push offsho offshore. joel alluded to the fact that it could loop back. if it does do that, it will be in much weaker state off the coast of the southeast during late next week. take live look outside. market street pretty busy for this time of day and of course with this weather out there. temperature right now only 67. the high for the day 67. with winds out of the north at 3 miles an hour. but you can feel that tropical moisture out there. it's a warm, damp feeling. 61 in the poconos. 66 in wilmington. 67 in dover and in atlantic city it is 68. we'll watch the center of circulation move toward the north northeast tonight into tomorrow. this cold front to the west we've been talking about for several days is going to help guide that storm away but not before squeezing that moisture up the cove, and we'll have some clouds in the morning, giving way to some sun in the afterno afternoon. as fair weather high pressure builds in. in the city overnight 55. the suburbs 50. rain heavy south jersey and delaware. delaware a flash flood watch until tomorrow at noon. 62 tomorrow. morning clouds a few showers possible. then some sun. on your seven day forecast from columbus day it looks good 64. for holiday tuesday evening into wednesday, looks good. thursday 71. friday sunny and pleasant and by next saturday partly sunny 65 and by then, joyce, we are into the mid period of october already and we haven't had any significant [ sirens blearing ] i would bomb the [ beep] out of them. i want to be unpredictable. i love war. the thought of donald trump with nuclear weapons scares me to death. it should scare everyone. i'm hillary clinton and i approve this message. ♪ birthday bash in south philadelphia today. the wells fargo center is celebrating the big two-zero fans coming out and taking shots flyers ice and sixers court for the 20th anniversary. happy birthday. officials in delaware county teamed up with leaders from italy today. it's all in preparation for columbus day. 14 police officers and elected officials from the italian city in the front of the media courthouse. they stopped here on the way to the big columbus day parade in new york city. the group got a demonstration of all the counti' emergency response vehicles. we got good stuff. and all the equipment from swat and the bomb units. >> they wanted to support america additionally. originally started with just a dinner we made this big event. wonderful fundraiser. >> that fundraiser is for the delaware county hero's fund and special bonus all of those involved had dinner at ariana' as restaurant in media named, of course, after the city they came from. she lived a nightmare for years. now, a local woman is warning every parent and every teenager going online. her advice to keep you and your children from reliving her horror. >> ridley park woman is speaking out about horrifying experience she had online when she was a teenager. a man posing as young boy using several different screen names convinced her to do something that she says she'll regret for the rest of her life. our shawnette wilson sat down with the young woman who was a victim of sextortion. ♪ >> we were chatting with kids that we thought were our age. >> sitting in her father's basement in ridley park delaware county, 22-year-old samantha can now openly talk about a gnawing secret she kept for four years. it happened in this very room where we're sitting. >> we were just fooling around having fun, laughing, um until one of them dared us to flash our chests over the web cam. which we complied with merely two seconds and then we just continued throughout our night just talking and having fun. >> reporter: samantha a sixth greater then had been on social media chat which no longer exists. she and her friend thought more of what they had don done and nr her from the boy again who was on the other end instant messaging them with only picture for his profile but he could see video of them. >> that was the end of it for about like six months. report roar then one day, six months later, a cryptic message on my space. >> the initial message read, i have this picture of you, and if you don't go on stick cam and do what i physical you to do i'll zen it to all your friends. i first i didn't believe him. i said you're lying. >> reporter: but the face less person quickly responded. >> he responded with, the picture itself, um, proving to me he did have picture of me and my friend. >> reporter: that picture of samantha and her friend flashing their breasts had come back to haunt her. >> he just kept saying if you don't do this, i'm just going to zen it out. think of what everyone will think of you. >> reporter: what samantha told me next paint add vivid picture of the torture this then 13-year-old endured. >> i had to do what he told me to do, which was really intense sexually explicit things for 13-year-old to do. things that 13-year-olds don't even imagine. things that, you know, you would see in a pornographic video, um, of adults just sexually violating myself for about five hours straight. >> reporter: five excruciating humiliating hours. i was complying with everything that he wanted me to do, i was thinking, now he has this on me now, too. now he has this on me. so this picture is worse than that one was before. >> reporter: there was one more disturbing thing samantha says did he. >> he was saying, oh, i can make sure this never happens to you again. you need to do this and that and this and that. like block all your social media pages. i don't want anyone to do this to you again. which was really like confusing and manipulative. >> reporter: after that night, samantha struggled to get back to her normal life. >> i felt disgusted and embarrassed, um, and really a shamed, so that's part of the reason why i never spoke up about it or told anybody about it. >> reporter: what was her live like then before this happened? >> i wanted to be from sponge bob. i played the clarinet. i sang and i was in acting and i played will cross and volley because. ♪ >> reporter: music was and still is something she loves. >> i was in band pink floyd lead zeppelin cover band when i was 13 that was my live as 13-year-old. >> how does a little girl with so much zest and talent involved in so many activities fall victim to online predator. >> i wasn't getting the attention from boys at school because i just wasn't popular enough or cute enough so i turn to the internet and when someone was giving me and my friend attention we were -- we jump at the opportunity for someone to compliment us and made us feel better about ourselves. ♪ >> reporter: for years, samantha struggled with depression and thoughts of suicide afterward what happened but somehow managed to block it all out. >> i kind of just let it slip to the back of my mind for about four years. >> reporter: then in 2010 she came home from school to find fbi agents at her mother's house. they caught the guy who did those things to her years ago. >> i'm like holy crap. i forgot. like i didn't open, you know, it kind of -- i slip it to the back of my mind, repressed it because i didn't want to think about it any more. >> reporter: she remembers her mother crying hysterically. she was more confused, more than thinking anything just kind of, kind of wondering why i wouldn't tell her. >> reporter: the other bombshell, that person samantha and her friend believed they were talking online with that night -- >> this skater kid with like hair in his face and mirror pick with skinny jeans. >> reporter: fb. agents say it wasn't the 15-year-old boy she just described but 26-year-old lucas michael chancellor in jackso jacksonville, flor. >> i realized, wow, this is serious. this was messed up. this isn't right. >> reporter: turns out samantha is one of several hundred victims the fbi identified at that point. i reported on chancellor's arrest back in 2014 when the fbi announced they were looking for more victims and making parents away of what they call sextortion. >> he had over 80,000 images of child pornography on his computer. he had extorted approximately 350 victims about 26 states, canada. the extortion involved either threats to the family, demands for money, but typically they want more pictures. they want more images but more often than not what we see the extortion involves threats to post those images on the victi victim's, you know, friend list. >> he was set on sharing my picture. >> reporter: investigators track down chancellor after another girl's parents found messages on her computer and contacted them. samantha met some of the other victims when they went to florida to testify during a sentencing hearing. >> he got up and he said he was sorry for what he did. which was very emotional for all of us. to think that one man could do this to so many girls it was pretty scary. ♪ >> reporter: samantha has since decided to become an advocate for online child predators. >> don't do anything you wouldn't want your parents to see. don't send that picture and don't -- don't fall for the tricks of people that you don't know on the internet. >> reporter: report even though chons lore is serving a live sentence she knows the nude pictures may still be out there. >> the internet is becoming a bigger place. the more younger kids know about technology they're getting better with it each day the more it's scarier and easier for a pedophile to reach out to them. >> reporter: in ridley park, shawnette wilson fox 29 news. >> brave young lady to come forward so people can be helped. >> all right, sean brace. >> bring sunshine at the people. >> i'm ready for it. >> let's do that. eagles are back in action tomorrow. taking on the detroit lions in detroit. hear from eagles wide out jordon matthews why the offense is successful through three games so far and it was a wet one all across the board in college football. we got highlights from penn state, nova and notre dame. that's coming up next in sports. when i was one year old, i was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer on my spinal chord. but i spent my whole life fighting back. so you can imagine what i thought when i saw donald trump say...
