You can always repair property, you cannot restore a live if it is lost. People are already filling sand bags in the miami area across southeast coast evacuations are underway. Far enough south not to really impact us over the course of the weekend. The bad news is, it is heading right through the bahamas and toward florida and by tomorrow night at this time well be talking about the outer bands of the storm reaching the coast. So from ft. Lauderdale to Daytona Beach this is a hurricane warning that is in effect and, of course, evacuations in order for this particular part of the state because the storm could come dangerously close if not make landfall along the east coast of florida. Right now the maximum wind speed 120 miles an hour moving toward the northeast at 12 miles an hour through the bahamas tonig tonight. These owing water temperatures are in the 80s. Regairegaining strength to catey four and by friday morning, coming dangerously close to the coast near melbourne, Cape Canaveral and Daytona Beach as category four storm and then curving around the coast of georgia and south carolina. Possibly curling back down toward the southeast some of the computer models actually have the it crossing florida again and moving into the gulf. Well continue to watch the outer bands of the storm as they do reach florida tomorrow night with Tropical Storm force winds possible going as far inland its a orlando and heavy rain moves towards the carolinas. Some of the high clouds from this storm will make it into delaware by friday afternoon but thats as far north as this storm will be reaching us. The demolition contractor behind a deadly Center City Building collapse is getting some support from the local chapter of the n nc naaacp. Prosecutors targeted Griffin Campbell after the 2013 collapse that killed six people. And the storm is passed by cuba in the southern bahamas and entering very warm ocean water its a category three storm still a major hurricane with a Significant Impact to the bahamas and watches and warnings posted for the state of florida. We have hurricane warnings from ft. Lauderdale all the way up to die tone in a beach and this storm means business the outer bands will be reaching miami as early as tomorrow morning. And into the evening as we with heavier rain. Heres the track of ma huge you can see the center circulation with that core the heaviest rain really close to the inner core of the storm. This is tonight moving toward miami by tomorrow morning some of those outer feeder bands reaching the east coast, and then the storm comes dangerously close possibly even making a landfall very close to Cape Canaveral as the heavy rain continues to really curve around the area of southern georgia and into the carolinas where evacuations have already been ordered. And the storm continues toward the north and east. It is expected to curl around and head back south over the course of the weekend and into the beginning of next week. But High Pressure to the north will keep it to the south and away from the Delaware Valley and this frontal boundary that could bring us a few showers on saturday will help to kick that out as well. But the focus is develop the southeastern United States with the state of florida in the direct path of this particular storm. For wasnt what this means for in order well send it over to scott and, scott, getting a little bit more nerve racking as the hours progress. Yeah, absolutely, kathy. Because i mean were talking about a huge wind field with matthew. Tropical Storm Force Winds extent out wards from that center of circulation. That pinhole eye about 200 miles. Hurricane force winds extend out wards from that center of circulation about 45 miles. So what about the wind field impact for the bahamas . It is a direct hit. Were talking about category three storm right over Nassau Bahamas and were looking at winds there that will exceed 100 Miles Per Hour as we continue in time here watch parts of south florida. Where you see that yellow, were talking winds in excess of 40 miles an hour. The orange winds in excess of about 60 miles an hour. So that will be moving toward places like ft. Lauderdale, west palm beach, fort saint lucy. Fort pierce. Look at the Hurricane Force winds in red that will include those areas continuing up the coast friday morning. Were looking at winds around orlando perhaps over 60 Miles Per Hour moving toward Daytona Beach. Jacksonville flor friday afternoon. Where that yellow and orange is Tropical Storm force winds all the way up kathy toward savannah and charleston. It is simply amazing. Were also talking about those heavy rains as well. That could total about five to even 8inches by the time all is said and done in the state of florida. Overnight tonight, we are looking at condition that is will be improving.
