very comfortable weather out there. now, what is happening it's not quiet warm everywhere. temperatures will slowly begin to warm up but stuck in the sea breeze south along delaware beaches, temperatures barely above 60 degrees. up to cape may county mid to upper 60s but it's been stuck there all day. water temperature this time of year only in the upper 50s. you get that wind coming off the ocean keeps the temperatures right along the coast down. 63 in brigantine. 60 in atlantic city. again that is right along the coast. here are the temperatures inland up to 70 in philadelphia. continuing to jump up and up here this is our warming trend beginning very low humidity overnight tonight it will be nice and calm not quite as cool. you see the skies are clear. and we talk about this low humidity the dew point into the 60s it feels muggy. when it's in the 20s very very dry. so skies are clear and it's very comfortable out there right now. temperature just hit 70 maybe climbing a degree or two more. things are all clear on ultimate doppler radar. when you look tonight though, here's what you wanted to look up you'll see the moon, bright star next it to not a star jupiter and venus. nice lights coming in tonight the site you'll see in the western sky. temperatures dropping to night down into the 50s in philadelphia. but look at the 40s here that blue color spreading into the north and western suburbs it's not quite as cool when you wake up tomorrow morning as it was this morning a few areas into the 30s. still a little chill in the air. pottstown 48. allentown 46. quickly warping up. quickly into the mid 70s. warmer than we are today. by noon there's that sea breeze coming in another day with cooler temperatures right along the coast. that may change for memorial day day. what we'll is look at tonight 57 cool. by tomorrow morning sunshine 53. still calling that cool. but warming up to the 70-degree mark by noon. getting warmer in the warming trend continues. there's storms back in the forecast. hot humid weather coming back. i'll show when you in the seven day coming up later. >> all right. thank you, dave. it's a beautiful day to shore is back. with families, series, families on series. >> we've done arcades twice. we've gotten coffee and breakfast. we're heading to the center right now and maybe put put afterwards and the pool. we have a lot to do. >> reporter: all that before noon. the cadburys from bucks county are having a blast. >> amy grew up in ocean city, maryland. we put her to the test. >> i'm going to have to well, memorial day will mark one month since the deadly deadly earthquake shook the country of nepal. april 25th quake and another quake just two weeks later killed over 8,000 people. today locals who have been personally affected by that tragedy gathering for a fundraiser. fox 29's brad sattin is live in south philadelphia. in fact they are doing all they can to help that definite stater country and its people. >> reporter: dawn, you're right. unlike any other block party in this area for sure because they are helping people half a world away. this area of south philly pretty culturally diverse and nepali cambodian and burmese community coming together to raise some money. ♪ >> reporter: fun and games for a serious cause raising money for victims of the earthquake in nepal. a lot of people here with personal stories losing their homes and family members as you'll hear. they were doing something this afternoon as simple as entertaining the crowd selling water and a spicy rice dish for just a dollar. a dollar here may not go far but in nepal it can feed an entire family. this community is made up two to 3,000 people in philadelphia many with personal ties to nepal. we know more than 8,000 people died in that earthquake and since the quake there have been more than 100 after shocks. which means family here continue to live on pins and needles. one woman here lost her sister and two month old nephew when their home collapsed on them in the epicenter of the quake they were buried for days and died. >> my sister died after house collapse on to her. my brother called me to give the news. >> there are so many people who died in the earthquake. we lost family members. >> we are selling water for a dollar and sending this money to nepal to buy water and food and medicine. >> reporter: these elementary behind school kids put on the show featuring cultural dancing and music knowing they're helping families on the other side of the world. all in all a beautiful day for a block party here. more on some of those families you'll hear from them at 10:00 o'clock. we can tell you that they raised about $700 again a dollar goes a long way in nepal that's a pretty good effort here today. dawn and joyce. >> all right, thank you so much, brad. well, a fire at a scrap yard in bucks county sends smoke into the air that you could see for miles. it happened around noon at the scrap metal facility on the 200 block of lincoln highway that's in falls township. these pictures were sent in by fox 29 viewers. officials quickly got the fire under control. nobody was hurt in the blaze. there's no word yet on what may have started that fire. philadelphia police are searching for two men after a shooting in cobbs creek. this happened last night around 10:30 at 55th and mark streets. police say a 21-year-old man was found shot just laying in the street. he was taken to presbyterian hospital where he is listed to night in stable condition. investigators are asking assistants in finding the two men who they believe were involved in that shooting. police in camden county are hoping that you can help them find the man who they say robbed a gloucester township bank. that happened today. take a look at these surveillance photos. this is the man police are looking for. he came into the pnc bank on the black horse pike around 11:00 this morning. investigators say he handed a demand note to the teller and then he got away with an unknown amount of cash. if you recognize him call gloucester township police. a gas station attendant is under arrest after police say he sexually assaulted a customer. delaware state police say that this man was working at a shell station on christiana road in newark this morning. investigators say when woman asked to use the store restroom the attendant allegedly got the key and opened the door and then he started sexually assaulting her. he's still in jail tonight unable to make bail. developing to night, calls for piece in ohio. city leaders in cleveland are urging protesters there to be peaceful after a judge finds a police officer not guilty in a shooting death of two people. police say those two led police on high speed chase back in 2012. fox' shows us emotions are running very high in that city tonight. >> reporter: emotional michael brill low hugging his lawyers after a judge finds him not guilty of voluntary manslaughter in the shooting deaths of timothy russell and melissa williams. in november 2012, russell's car backfired as they spent cleveland police headquarters. police thought they fired a gun and high speed chase began. 13 officers fired 137 shots at the car. brill low was chargeed because prosecutors said he waited until the car stopped and they no longer posed the threat. the pair was unarm. the judge says the prosecution's failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that brill low shots directly led to their death. >> brill lowes entire use of deadly force was a constitutional residential response. >> his defense attorney and russell's sister reacting to the verdict. >> we regret and we acknowledge that two people died but at the end of the day that tragedy was brought about by conscious decision-making. >> i do not believe that tim and melissa every used their car as a weapon. i do not believe they ever had a gun. it's outside of my brother's character to be a violent person person. >> report roar protesters taking to the streets of cleveland following the verdict. >> it's my expectation to show the nation that peaceful demonstration and dialogue is the right direction. >> reporter: justice department civil rights division announcing saturday it will review the case. still ahead on fox 29 news at 6:00 a shock on the way to the morgue. >> a man starts moving nearly an hour after he's declared dead. the mistake that left first responders stunned. and tons of trouble on a busy highway after a power truck overturns. the rush to catch more than two dozen cows. >> a moving display in honor of veterans killed in the line of duty. where you can see more than 15,000 flags planted ahead of memorial day. ♪ >> it's nationals versus cole hamels. you think it would be a pitching battle. but it wasn't. check it out later in sports. ♪ >> ceremony this morning in camden to remember the men and women in arm forces. it was held at the camden county veterans cemetery to -- that's a final resting place for hundreds of vets including 300 who served in the civil war. >> so important to recognize and remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. it's also important to honor and remember their families who are left behind torque let them know they have a shoulder to cry on, to let them mow we're here to give them a hug if they need it, and that we as a nation need to stand behind them in any way we can in supporting them as they move on without their loved one who gave the ultimate sacrifice. >> 10 world war ii vets received recognition medals during today's ceremony. memorial day tradition happening at arlington national cemetery this weekend. more than 1,000 soldiers in the third u.s. infantry regimen. also known as the old guard placed american flags at more than 200,000 graves belonging to service members. the tradition is called flags in and it's been done there for more than 60 years. a baseball field in atlantic county home to a beautiful tribute to those who gave their lives fighting for our country. really quite a site. community members placing thousands and thousands of american flags on that field. it's beautiful out there. fox 29's shawnette wilson tells us what each flag represents. report. >> we started in the corner and you know, first 10 flags it looked like a pretty daunting task but then as the community got together and everybody came out, you know it's pretty awesome. >> reporter: tim adams heard on the radio board members of the field of dreams in absecon wanted to plant flags in the outfield for memorial day. >> i brought my whole family out the first night. we've been out every since and it's looking great. >> reporter: field dreams is a park and baseball diamond for special needs kids to fulfill their dreams of being an athlete or playing on team. the flags symbolize veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice and didn't get to live out their full dreams. >> in new jersey, we came up with the number 15,433 men and women had given their lives for the country. >> reporter: that's how many flags board member john decided they would put down to honor each of those veterans. >> we've taken the battle, killed in action for all of the wars, you know, the united states sin the founding of the republic war of 1812, spanish american war world war one korean all of the wars. board members volunteers even children like steen-year-old steven jones who plays on the field of jones came out to help. >> memorial day really should be a memorial day for these people who gave up their lives the ultimate sacrifice and it's not just for a mattress sale or for a barbecue. >> putting down more than 15,000 flags by hand is a small sacrifice. >> i think it will be an honor to seat veterans out here and be able to shake their head and tell them how much we appreciate what they did fours much that's the satisfaction of it. >> reporter: around 11:30 on hem weigh ya'll day, there will be a ceremony held here at the field of dreams. the flags will remain here until the following thursday. in absecon shawnette wilson, fox 29 news. it's a landslide victory in ireland where voters have approved legalizing gay marriage. the ballots have been counter and more than 60% of voters said yes to the referendum. in dublin, thousands of gay rights activists celebrated the news. the prime minister says the vote shows the irish are quote a generous compassionate bold and joyful people. >> we have people -- final we have recognition here that that behavior is acceptable. we can stand taller after today. >> ireland is the first country to approve gay marriage in a popular national vote. the wife of one of the most popular names in radio did not play a role in her hub's death according to a los angeles coroner. prosecutors in la say they won't be filing charges against casey kasem's widow even those three children wanted her prosecuted. the radio personality children claiming his widow denied their father the proper medical treatment before he died. the district attorney in los angeles says there is proof that kasem received consistent medical care in his final days. a traffic nightmare in iowa after a cattle truck overturns on a very busy road. >> that crash sent cattle running all over the area and rescuers scrambling to capture them it happened in interstate 680. the driver of the cattle hauler lost control and rolled over. rescue crews had to free the man who was trapped inside the truck. more than 30 cattle were in that truck at the time of the crash and after the crash several just started roaming around the interstate. >> some of them are in the apex of the inter change among the trees. some of them are normal of 680. some of them are still contained on the scene. >> the driver was airlifted to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries. unfortunately, several of those cattle had to be put down because they were so badly popular resort at the alps. 41 of the 47 guests got out of the building. a missing man and many other guests were on a business trip for the same unidentified company. the cause of that deadly fire is under investigation. a shocking story out of milwaukee. a man pronounced dead starts moving and breathing as crews were transporting his body to the morgue. as fox's justin williams tells us that man is now recovering. >> reporter: milwaukee police say around 11:20 tuesday night their call to the tower apartments near 11th and wells for a welfare check. here they find what police describe as a 46 years old man lying face down unresponsive in a bedroom. this man is identified as thomas sand comb and milwaukee county medical examiner indicates just after midnight responding officers found him cold to the touch and in rigor. police then called the milwaukee fire department and the fire personnel arrived no low bid did the was noted and he appeared pale. death was pronounced but roughly 45 minutes later as trance porters arrived at the scene he exhibited spontaneous respirations and began moving his left arm and right leg. the patient had a heart rate. sand comb was then tine saint mary's hospital. >> can you imagine? sand comb's brother says thomas is getting better every day. meanwhile a spokesperson for the fire department says an investigation is being conducted to determine beach on long island new york to watch hair raising flips, turns and rolls from a dozen stun teams including john clad air shows. john served three tours in iraq and the combat pilot. we rode with him on the air national guard 300l stunt plane and oh what a ride it is. >> you ready? >> one two three! >> reporter: oh! >> there's one two and three. >> you know what i've been flying for 15 years and flying my entire life. the air national guard sent me to pilot training to learn to fly. it's been a lifetime pursuit to be able to perfect those skills that people are going to see in the air show this week is honor for me to be here. >> what's the number one rule you follow up there. >> it's about training. it's about trust. >> training to get in the military. >> great weekend for men and women deployed this weekend and for me to be small part in our nation's defense in history and serve in a war time environment probably was my greatest achievement. >> we'll go down. >> oh wow. >> people are so fascinated with air shows in general what is it about it. >> there's a connection between the pilot and the spectator. as a young boy i used to go to air shows. my dad took me. we talked about that. i looked up and i connected with one pilot at an air show and i said, i want to be a pilot. so it's really magical what can happen between somebody on the ground and somebody in the sky. it as a tribute to our veterans while inspiring the next generation. at jones beach in new york, bryan llenas fox news. now to your fox 29 weather authority. a nice looking start to the weekend. >> it's getting better than this. >> really. >> that was just for like a minute this morning. >> i'm okay with it. >> warming up now. we'll continue to warm up but we did need a little rain it's in the forecast. we can take that days pefect timing here this week and right now crystal clear skies. that humidity is way down. temperatures up to 70. dew .27. when you talk about the dew point into the 60s it starts to feel muggy. 40 degrees very comfortable. temperatures will quickly drop overnight tonight. most of the areas climbed out of the 60s are almost out of the 60s. philadelphia at seventy three 70. surrounding suburbs mid up to per 60s. quiet cool right along that coast. sea breeze keeping the temperature way down. water temperature only about 60. not quite as cool tonight. when you step outside tomorrow morning you'll feel a chill at 44. especially northern suburbs. city at 53. that is where we'll start this. we'll talk about the warmer weather tomorrow. we should easily jump up about 10 degrees by two 3:00 o'clock close to 80. 81 in philadelphia. allentown trying to get up to 80 degrees. many of the suburbs into the upper 70s just shy of 80. one place a little cool that coast. again, that wind picks up and comes right in off the ocean. that keeps the temperatures down. warm up to about 70 in the morning but it will drop in the afternoon and evening. now here's what's happening. this will be a slow gradual change over the next few days. high pressure centered right over us that's why we're so dry and clear today. that warm muggy air coming in from the gulf and the atlantic and as the high moves off this will slowly start to creep its way in over the next seven days. not a big change here happening but it will be changing between now and about tuesday and wednesday. we are clear but look at the moisture slow to beginning to work its way in sunday, and then monday. there's a few clouds coming in on monday that's the warmer air moving in. so we're into the upper 80s or monday. but you'll feel the humidity. it is back. it could start with few clouds memorial day in the morning but by the afternoon and evening more sunshine but it is warm and muggy. little bit of hazy, too. now the temperatures will try to climb up to near 90 on monday. and that sea breeze will kick in again but with the warmer air in place it will be a few degrees warmer. the rest of the holiday weekend tomorrow there's that 68 degrees. 76 monday morning at the shore. but by the evening 70. that wind picks up. a bit breezy and temperatures dropping a bit but water temperature near 60. pollen comes back a bit here. it's up to the high levels starting on monday and tuesday. so you'll see that coming back. it's medium high today but does return. so the next seven days here's what to expect. we have that moisture coming back as the summer like pattern develops just doesn't happen immediately. you'll see the temperature creep up a few degrees each day. and the moisture coming back. the humidity getting a little higher. looks like the rain holds off until about wednesday. but then wednesday thursday, friday and saturday showers and thunderstorms will be developing especially in the afternoon. that could be a good thing. much needed rain. the area in southeastern pennsylvania through berks county lehigh valley and portions of the montgomery county are in a moderate drought with the krout monitor that gets released every thursday. did include the rain we had this last week although it was light rain but we do need the moisture and it's here in the seven day forecast. also with the heat. 90 hot thunderstorms wednesday thursday 86. up until then the temperature increases a few degrees each day and the moisture comes back. once it's here it's here. wednesday, thursday, friday and saturday. hot and humid with showers and thunderstorms. looks like you get a little break from the rain sunday by next weekend as a front comes through cools our temperatures and dries out a bit. four days we can get some needed rain but heavy rain at times with the thunderstorms. >> helps with all the pollen. >> it will clear it out a little bit. >> thanks, dave. >> still ahead on the fox 29 news at 6:00, avian flu is doing a number on chickens across the country. >> it's about to do a real number on your wallet. the real cost of a serious egg shortage next. >> plus a cat is stuck in an underground pipe for nearly a week. how far one good samaritan is willing to go to pull off a dramatic rescue. ♪ >> holiday weekend always draws visitors to atlantic city but it isn't the only reason gaming officials are happy right now. numbers just released by the division of gaming enforcement showing profits at the resort eight casinos up more than 25% in the first quarter of this year. collectively they took in just over $81 million and that's up from 64 million during the same time last year. four casinos closed back in 2014. leaving the surviving properties much in better shape. >> get ready to pay more for eggs. 39 million birds across the country have been impacted by the avian flew. >> it's led to rise in the wholesale price of eggs from 63 cents a dozen in late april to nearly $2 a dozen right now. fox's karen mchugh takes a look at this costly outbreak. >> reporter: in iowa alone 20 million egg laying hens have died in the last month. officials say it's the result of a massive bird flu outbreak. the worst in u.s. >> this magnitude is first time we're dealing at this scale. this could pose a really big challenge for us in terms of the future of egg supply. >> reporter: birds have died from the disease or have been euthanized to prevent from it spreading. the drop in the number of eggs being laid is causing egg prices to rise in stores reaching record levels. some stores aren't receiving shipments. >> right now i can't offer jumbo eggs or 18 pack eggs. >> reporter: it's not just every day consumers being impacted by the egg shortage. restaurant chains like mcdonald's which is the number one supplier of fast food breakfast are suffering. >> mcdonald's can't increase their prices. they're fighting taco bell breakfast as it begins. >> reporter: efforts underway to curb the strain on the u.s. egg supply. eggs and egg products are being imported from europe and federal officials are planning an aggressive educational campaign to improve bio security around infected barnes but experts say the task won't be easy. >> when you look at the u.s. government they don't have enough food inspectors out there there. it's been under staffed for probably 10, 15 years. >> reporter: while there is no word as to when the virus will end, experts say the summer season may help. the current belief is that the virus begins to little did they know their father had a big danger hanging over his head. the family says colon cancer would have turned their lives upside down if not for a story that aired right here on fox 29 last year. >> you may remember our dave kinchen took us to his colon cancer screening after losing his own father to the disease several years ago. dave introduces to us man tonight who says that story may have actually saved his life. >> paul one lucky guy. he has adoring wife by his side and two energized boys keeping him busy. eight-year-old paul, jr. and there's his younger brother alec at age three. >> alec your turn. >> they play around together in their south philadelphia home. >> mom won. >> boo! >> reporter: tow travel the world. here they're pictured in paris. and again in rome. >> we're very close knit family as it is. we travel lot. we do lot of activities together. ♪ >> reporter: but they learned of a hidden scare inside 44-year-old paul that threatened all of their happiness after watching fox 29's evening news one night last year. i grew up afraid of two words colorectal cancer. >> i saw you telling the story of your own family history and how you felt it was important to go and get check out. >> reporter: they were among thousands tuned in as i took viewers along for my colorectal cancer screening at the hospital of the university of pennsylvania. treat beside dr. gregory ginsberg. >> it's truly an equal opportunity offender. >> you okay. >> i signed up for the testify at 31 because colon cancer claimed my father david alexander kinchen when he was only 38. >> i always had this fear what happened to him could happen to me. >> my family would never be the same. >> what was running through my mind at the time my brother had been eventually diagnosed with colon cancer. my father-in-law had been recently diagnosed with colon cancer mine uncle had colon cancer as well and seeing you a young guy go get check out kind of motivated me perhaps it was time that i get myself screened. >> paul went to his doctor after a series of referrals. >> let yourself relax. >> his procedure looked a lot like mine they knock you out insert a probe just like one to search the colon walls. but paul was shocked by what doctors found. three flat polyps in his stomach. >> looking at those pictures was just an unbelievable experience. we saw circle where the polyps was. they showed us what was poll lip, what wasn't and things like that. it was very shocking. >> flat polyps are harder to find and more likely to be cancerous doctors say. paul doctor said his were like al few years away from turning into cancer. >> that's when it really hit home. >> we were just dumb founded absolutely dumb founded when he showed us the pictures and laid out the pictures. we look at each other just real really in disbelief. >> they thought about the drastic changes they can have seen in their lives. >> just every day things like we're doing right now we take for granted we may not have been able to do this. had that cancer progressed. >> if he was in chemo, i mean, he would be out of work and that's difficult for me because i'm a homemaker. he's the bread winner. with the kids and him if he was going through chemo and radiation it would really changed our lives for the worst reallyreally. >> the doctor who says it was very fortunate that i had been screened early because had i waited until i was 50 years old thing could have been much different for me. >> reporter: those polyps are now gone. doctors snipped them off during the scam. meaning paul and officials say part of the hill at the top of the rock golf course gave way to sing hole. crews noticed two holes near the driving range friday morning. by midday, the two holes had combined into one big hole. the giant hole measuring 80 feet long by 60 feet wide and about 35 feet deep. the arizona humane society coming to the rescue of a cat that was stuck in a storm drain. a brave worker was lowered underground to pull the cat to safety and as fox's john hook reports it was quite the dramatic rescue. >> reporter: the intersection of the 91 is the avenue shut down so workers could rescue a cat stuck in a storm drain. the arizona humane society got a call a week ago about the trapped animal. >> we've been coming out checking on the cat giving him water making sure that he stays alive while we figure out how to extract him from the storm drain. >> reporter: the city of phoenix came out to help them navigate the path ways underground. workers with phoenix police also assist. >> we've been out here today for probably about an hour or two. but he's been down there quite awhile. more than a week. >> reporter: this officer with the humane society has never been down a storm drain before but he gets lowered into the drain to capture the animal. suddenly success. the officer had secured the cat in a net and pulled it out of the drain. >> how do you feel? >> i feel awesome. what a rescue. so glad the cat is alive. he was stuck inside a pipe about 15-inches big. and he was pretty scared to come down it. but he got close enough i was able to grab him by the scruff and pull him out. >> he's pretty healthy. >> the freed animal will eventually be put up for adoption once he gets a clean bill of health. workers have nicknamed him stormy. >> it was dark. it's a little erie down there. we were able to get down in there with a little bit of food and a little bit of love we were able to get this cat out. >> stormy might have you've one of his nine lives. >> maybe a couple.
