Responds name ago flight and asking where did you leave the bomb . No word on person behind that twitter account of course we are continuing to follow this developing story. We will bring you new details as we get them. And to our other big story tonight, noreaster had dumped several inches of snow some part of our area. This is what people in reading are dealing with this morning. And here in philadelphia, we saw a wintery mix were looking live at the schuylkill expressway at spring garden, the storm isnt causing any traffic trouble right now. Now, the noreaster is moving out. But another storm, it is on the way chris. Lets go right to fox 29 meteorologist, caitlin roth. Yes, another one, you are tracking tonight. Thats right, chris joyce. Right on the heals of noreaster that brought rain and snow to the area, several inches of snow for many of us north and west of the city looking at the chance of snow actually the likelihood of snow by monday. Now here are amount that stack up in our area earlier this morning, it started overnight last night carried into the Early Morning hours the highest amounts up in the mountains, monroe county, 9 inches of snow, perkasie, upper bucks 6 inches, royersford, five closer to the sit the more they tail off. Inch at the philadelphia airport, and that was a sloppy wet rain soaked inch of snow so you were digging out the heavy stuff earlier today. Right now here is our departing storm system, last of the rain showers have cleared the jersey shore snow is far up into parts of new england, and looking at clear skies as we head into tonight. Temperatures right now have been above freezing, for most of the day thats good, prevented any freezing from the rain earlier, 37 in philadelphia, 35 in pottstown 36 in allentown and 38 in dover. Winds increase ago bit will help dry things out going through the overnight hours and visibilities are coming up. We had a lot of delays at the airport, not from snow but fog, low level cloudiness, not the issue as we head through tonight. Skies are clear, see sunny start to sunday, 30 the overnight low in the city, very cold, specially where you have the higher snow pack, that would be north and west of the city, temperatures fall back to the low 20s, maybe even teens by early sunday morning, sunday is nice, but that all changes by monday morning, well have the latest on the snow timing and amounts still ahead joyce chris . All right caitlin just talked about it that same system dumping snow in part of new york, and massachusetts. This is what it looks like near wooster, the snow across the northeast is having aim pact on air travel here. Fox 29s brad zap is live at Philadelphia International airport tonight where there are delays, brad . Reporter yes theyve been delaying all day long joyce and they do continue upward of about 35 minutes through the day. Were at the cell phone waiting lot here, where believe it or not it has been jam packed, as a result of flights delayed coming into the airport, for the moment, though, it is fairly quiet. I think we can kind of call this the calm between the two storms, that caitlin was talking about. We can tell you the problem started early this morning there were about two dozen flights, canceled, first thing this morning as we mentioned average delays still right now about 35 minute. Problem this afternoon the low clouds ceiling situation that does seem to be improving. We want to let you know the faa has issued grounds Delay Program basically meaning they are delaying planes at points of origin so they can better control the pacing and flow of flight as they arrive here. If plane gets here late, then it is leaving late. Weve seen that Ripple Effect through the day. One flight for instance from Fort Lauderdale arriving here 90 minutes late short time ago because it got to Fort Lauderdale late from philly earlier. Not huge deal for most passengers unless they miss the connecting flight of course. Last year we flew out of philly to the miami boat show, we slid down in the ice storm. Hour and a half delay little better than in. Absolutely, i have no problem. You roll with the punches plane in the rear that were trying to connect they couldnt get down the aisle. So thats a problem for them. And so again the bad news here the delays upward of about 35 minutes on average continue. The good news, as of right now, there are no concellations, but as we were talking about it could get dicey sunday into monday, the airport is suggesting you check in with your airline, if you are flying to make sure things are on time. You can also go phone or phl dolt org or onephlgate. You can always stay ahead of the weather on myfoxphilly. Com. You are talking about the fox 29 weather authority. He talked to the media this afternoon about deflate gate. Fox 29s Keith Russell live in the news room. Keith, this is really getting to be a circus. Reporter chris, when will it ends . You know first it was Bill Belichick saying i didnt do it. Then it was tom brady saying dont look at me. The nfl now says it is looking at everything. But wait a minute. The patriots are like investigate us . Well investigate ourselves. Belichick speaking again today on those under inflated footballs saying despite what you think they played by the rules. When we hand the balls to the officials, the officials put them out whatever they put them at but say it is 12 and a half, thats where they put them, then the air pressure at that point from then on until the end of the game, we have no knowledge of. Im embarrased to talk about the amount of time that ive put into this, relative to the other important challenge in front of us. Im not a scientist im not an expert in footballs. Im not an expert in football measurements. Just telling you what i know. Is he an expert in cheating . Well, you just heard from belichick, chances are you wont hear from tom brady on this matter again. Joyce, the patriots player rep has advised the players not to speak any more on the subject of those under inflated footballs. All right, but im sure we have not heard the ends of it. Thank you so much, keith. A Philadelphia Police officer is recovering tonight after his cruiser is hit by a drunk driver. Few years ago when they mod earneddized the building the antique came down to ground level, where someone stole it. One of the Church Members came sunday the 18th, realized the bell was gone. Well, hes here now so it couldnt have gone too bad. All right, we had the chilly temperatures today, the rain and the snow that storm has now moved out. Going in was fine. So ill be back next year. With our weather sometimes the worse is the anticipation, too, and here we go, anticipating. Well winter off to very slow start this year, now it is ramming up. Doesnt look to be quitting any time soon. So like it or not snow lovers, at least theyre getting something to cheer about, heading into the work week. We start off though with snowfall totals from today. Recapping the noreaster that brought snow to changing over to rain, overnight highest amounts were confined to the Higher Elevations where it is coldest the longest. And the highest amount recorded in our area, monroe county, up in the poconos coolbaugh, 9 inches, perkasie, 6 inches, royersford, 5 inches closer to the city the more the amounts tailed off. Didnt see much in delaware, new jersey, sloppy inch of snow at the Philadelphia International airport, wealth heavy snow, tough to shovel. Hopefully all very careful out there this morning. Different type of snow headed our way by monday. There is our departing storm system bringing the snow into eastern new england, on its heals, is a clipper system diving down from canada. It is bringing some rain and snow showers to the northern planes right now. Over the next 24 hours it, will track through the midwest, the ohio valley, a n then start to spread some snow into the Delaware Valley by early monday morning. But, first todays weather almanac, 39 degrees, was the High Temperature, 40 the normal, so it wasnt too cold. Luckily we saw our coldest readings when the know fell overnight. Then they rose, we switched over to some rain, really just saw light rain showers through the rest of the day. Thirtyseven in philly. Mid 30s, all above freezing with the exception of the poconos, but that will change tonight. Temperatures will dip far into the 20s, especially where there is a lot of snow on the grounds north and west, watch for any refreezing on some of the untreated or exposed roadways sidewalks driveways, where you still see standing water will ice up quickly. Winds out of the west, increasing a bit, will help dry things out and fox future cast shows clear night sunny start to sunday, not bad. If youre out early heading to Church Services not looking at any problems maybe again watch for the refreeze, but otherwise, we should stay dry throughout the day. Clouds increase, maybe a sprinkle or two into the evening, this is out ahead of the clipper system i just showed you in the midwest that starts to spread some snow in by early monday morning. These clipper systems notorious for bringing very light powdery type of snow. Also very cold system. So the arctic air will be coming in right along with this snow on monday. Now, probably ann or so on the grounds by the commute. Thats all it takes to cause problems. Expect slow monday morning commute, light snow continues throughout the day into monday evening, that might be a mix the further south and east go, maybe even just some showers along the coast. From there this clipper exits, moves off shore but it looks like it will intensify into a very strong snowstorm for parts of coastal new england, including boston, cape cod, back down through eastern long island, this is the way it looks right now do not think this is the big storm for philadelphia. Close call there in new york. But if there is heavy snow in our area it, would definitely be confined to the coastal areas of new jersey, probably the further north go into new jersey, this is a look at tuesday afternoon, it is not snowing across much of pennsylvania, it certainly is the further north and east, so watching that, the snow event looks likely on monday, there is a chance for some more snow especially in our coastal areas, monday night into tuesday. Estimated snowfall amounts first guess here, probably good three four, around the city, levels south and east, this is monday with the clipper system, more north and west where it is colder longer. Skies clear for tonight. 30 degrees, 22 in the suburbs it will be a cold night watch for the refreezing. Now, for tomorrow, sun giving way to clouds, this is our dry breakin between systems there is the snow and the cold on monday, High Temperature of just 30 degrees, then only 29 thereon tuesday watching for the chance of snow mainly east of philadelphia, this will be a news maker because it looks to bring some very heavy snow to places like new york, boston coastal new england we clear out there wednesday, really cold, another chance for some snow with the system on thursday, and even into next saturday, so it is one shot of snowfall by another shot of cold. Were getting in the pattern here over the next seven days. Just love it. You do . Yes, we do. Thank you caitlin. Oh ya. All right, still ahead on fox 29, too much bad energy on social media . Like a friend getting fired from work, or a death in the family, and it is not just happening on line. In the real world experts are calling it secondhand stress. According to stress management trainer joe robinson, it is from the mere neurons in our brain replicate g whats happening around us. They are there because they are bonding tool theyre supposed to help bring us closer together, but in the case of stress, while they cause problems. Robinson says stress is dangerous, and can suppress our immune systems causing heart attacks back pains even irritable bowels. Some expert believe stress is also transferred into our work environment, not so much by what is said, but how it is said. When youre treated okay, by somebody else who is your superior, in a respectful way most of the stress ores that were talking about have a hard time coming into existence. But no worries. There is a solution, we have to tell our brains that everything is okay, and that were not any danger. By doing this, robinson says, we can actually control and even eliminate secondhand stress. In jackson mississippi kyle rotten berg, fox news. And still ahead tonight drivers look to go save a few pennies on gas end up spending hundreds of dollars in damage. To think someone is going to be in business rebecca ruiz not the only area motorist who started the new year with a big bill for removal of bad gas that she is certain she got from this gulf at 1200 route 73 pennsauken, and she is certainly not the only area motorist deeply frustrated. By the near total silence from the station. At some point call the manager, the owner for me. This man pumps gas. I have had a couple of people come by, im tv reporter, say they bought bad gas here. The weekends of january 2nd and 3rd, that they bought bad gas their car broke down out on the bridge. I have no idea about that. Well, turns out he does noah little more than what he is saying. Well get back to him in a minute. First, freddy sanchez. Once i took off from the gas station about two minute after that, my car started losing power and choking on me. Sanchez says he put about 25 bucks of gas into his wifes suv at the gulf that same day. He says he limps to palmyra with a car gave out. A Police Officer approached, and sanchez told him where he had been. They selling bad gas because at this moment i have a few cars, you know, broke down on 73, close to the bridge, and they have saying the same thing that you told me, so thats where i am going right now. In fact, a spokesperson for the Burlington County bridge commission, the agency which runs the talcony palmyra span, tells fox 29 investigate on january 3rd their police were involved with about six vehicles that had broken down in and around the bridge, adding several motorists indicated they got gas at the gulf on route 73. He claims he shelled out over 200 bucks to clear the gas and his wife lost a full day of work. Sanchez says he got a phone number from one of the workers for the guy in charge. And you give him a call. About five times. Five times . You dont get one call back . No. Nothing . Nothing. We called that same number, and received a return call from paul sing, who said he was the operator of the station. He said the gulf is owned by diebe oil from Edgewater Park new jersey. Did had have a problem in early january with faulty rubber lining inside the lid after gas tank. He said police had contacted them as well as two motorists with complaints. He claimed the problem was quickly repaired and wondered why motorists had come to us. Theyve called you and then they cant get anybody anybody from anything so they went to a tv station. Remember the worker who said he had no idea about problems with the gas . Turns out he did. Apparently six cars broke down on the bridge. You dont remember that happening . Thats, actually, you know, gas thing, inside his rubber, the bad thing broke down. So my boss said he can take care of them. So, in other words, some water got in . You think thats what happened . Yes. Oh, so it did happen . Yes. One more issue. We called Camden County weights and measures to ask if they had received any complaints about the gulf. They said not recently, but sent out an inspector on january 15th. Thats him. Checking the pumps and pulling samples. What did they finds . Trouble. The tests red that the octane level was low, this wasnt the first time that that particular station has had low octane. Consumers can go back and they will be liable for any repairs that need to take place. In fact, it is the third violation since 2011. The penalty will be 1,750 bucks. As for rebecca ruiz, she is chipping away at her 435 bill, and has this to say. To station operators stop selling it, correct your issue, or if you know your gas will get water when it rains, close down. Along with low octane, premium fuel it, found water in the gas t has alerted the state. The station operator said he fixed the problem but this test came ten days later. He told rebecca ruiz he will cover her costs. Jeff cole, fox 29 news. The nba sees record broke then may never be broken again. Two flyers players admit theyre flat out enemies right now.
