what happened as she tried to protect her own children. let's get straight out to bruce gordon live in chester, delaware county, tonight. that little boy is still recovering from his injuries, bruce? >> reporter: he sure is, yeah, chester police say a shooter or shooters sprayed at least 25 shots into a chester public housing complex late last night. one of those shots as you say found a five-year-old boy who's mom may well have saved his life. a shattered rear window and series of shell casing markers just about all that's left to remind a horrified mother the incident that nearly took the child away. there's one other grim soup near. >> my little son will still have a bullet lodged in the side of him because of this ridiculousness. >> just before 11:00 monday night latasha haze what in her kitchen with four fee an san toy younger children making late dinner when shots rang out. >> me and my kids hit the floor. nothing else we can do. when i pulled my son down the bullet hit him in his chest and went up to armpit and that's where it's lodged out. >> four year old mariah was unharm but five-year-old mark andrews, jr. was struck. >> what did your son say to you at that point? anything? >> he said mom, i'm shot. that's what he is he. >> reporter: chester police are calling it a drive by shooting. say latasha and her children were not the intended targets. cold comfort to mom who spent the day in the hospital as her five-year-old recovers from gunshot wound. >> i'm raising great kids. check their track record. they should not be going through no trauma like this. this is ridiculous. >> reporter: year ago latash latasha's car was shot up. she's been trying for months to get the chester housing authority to move her and her family to a safer neighborhood. now her mother mark's grandmother has had enough. >> people just to need start talking. this got to stop. you know, somebody else child going to be tonight or tomorrow. you know what i'm saying? it's got to stop. this violence. >> reporter: little mark could be released from the hospital as early as tomorrow morning. mom says he's been in good spirits. still not sure what's going to happen to that bullet whether it will be remove or whether it will remain inside his body. but again the little boy's parent until good spirits planning for a sixth birthday party next month. but mom says she wants justice says the little boy who wants whoever shot him to be found and jailed. dawn? >> i'll bet does he, thank you, bruce. turning to your weather authority now, we're tracking some spotty storms. people in old city had their umbrellas out as the storms rolled in this afternoon. kathy orr has more now on when the storms will move out. i saw those raindrops falling, kathy. >> pretty fast and furious out there, dawn. you can see the line is weakened somewhat moving into parts of burlington counsel teen upper part of ocean county and right here especially in atlantic county right along the expressway we're seeing heavy rain egg harbor city, mullica and heading toward mays landing and toward atlantic city. so if you know anybody on the expressway, that's in ac heading home, give them call let them know they'll head into heavy rain thunderstorms. also in cape may county, some heavy rain moving out of the maurice river area toward cape may and i do think these will hold together. so some heavy downpours a few more scattered showers expected during the late afternoon early evening period and then a few more tomorrow. but we have a front moving through and much cooler windier conditions expected tomorrow. down to 71 rain cooled degrees in philadelphia. 82 in atlantic city. where we haven't seen the storms just yet a few more scattered showers everything ends by 7:00 weather forecast. >> thanks, kathy. a teenaged suspect last week's murder of a 78-year-old southwest philadelphia man turns himself in to police. 18-year-old quintus clark went to police headquarters late last night where he was formally charged with murder, robbery and other offenses. police say the teenager beat and strangled joseph daily one week ago on the 6300 block of theodore street. neighbors say the victim was a veteran and was hard working and friendly. turning to you decide tonight the final states are pick their candidates to lead their parties to the race for the white house. our crews caught voters casting their ballots at cherry hill recreation today. hillary clinton is hoping to become the presumptive democratic nominee tonight although bernie sanders is even before some are finish cast their ballots hillary clinton has already been declared the presumptive democratic nominee according to the associated press. a defiant bernie sanders still saying he has no plans to drop out of the race. >> there's nothing to concede. secretary clinton will not have the requisite number of pledged delegates to win the democratic nomination. she will be dependent on super delegates. >> reporter: one of those super delegates is president barack obama representing illinois. the white house saying today the president is not ready to endorse either democratic candidate yet. >> no one at the white house has labeled either candidate the presumptive nom 93 at this point. >> reporter: donald trump meanwhile refuse to go back down after making what many view as racially charged comments. the presumptive gop nominee saying a mexican american judge born in indiana should not preside over court cases involving trump university because of his heritage. republican house speaker paul ryan initially reluctant to endorse trump blasting the billionaire as democrats piled on also. >> claiming a person can't do the job because of their race is sort of like the textbook definition of racist comment. >> we as a people must immediately and unconditionally condemn and reject the type of blatant racism we've heard in the last few days. >> reporter: republican new jersey governor chris christie who has strongly supported donald trump says he knows him well and he's not a racist. in washington, joel waldman, fox news. new jersey governor chris christie cast his ballot today at a firehouse in morris county. he then defended presidential candidate donald trump's right to free speech. traumaly's latest controversy surveillance sounds a civil lawsuit over his trump university and the presiding judge in that suit. trump has mentioned the judge's bias against him because of his mexican heritage. >> those of donald's opinion. he has the right to express th them. the way anybody has a writ to express their views rashed out their treated in civil war criminal courts in this country that's parts of what free speech is all about. >> governor christie part of transition team for donald tru trump. >> in north ham town county students heading at a field trip never make it after their bus gets in an accident. >> ahh! >> pretty scary video taken at the moment of the crash from inside the bus. this crash happened on i78 around 10:30 this morning when a tractor trailer sideswiped a bus in lower saucon township. a fed ex tractor trailer a tanker truck carrying oil as well as a contracted charter bus all involved. five students and two adults were taken to the hospital. no word on how badly they were hurt. a deliveryman is in the hospital tonight after being shot in the head. police found the victim a 34-year-old on the 1600 block of south 59th street just after 10:00 last night. police say he was delivering food about block away when two men approached him and demanded money. they shot him in the head then got away with his car wallet and cell phone. that car was recovered a few blocks away. the victim is in stable condition tonight and police are searching for those suspects. we first showed you this sign last night. it was posted on the side of the road in falls township. today, police are speaking out saying this is no prank. police say whoever is responsible could face charges for making terroristic threats. let's get out to bill anderson in the newsroom and, bill, this sign has ignited quite a debate on social media. >> reporter: dawn, it has. i think it's because in today's society, many are aware of the conflicts between police and some communities, but being aware of conflict and then seeing it first hand can be very different. a local community was shocked by the blatant disregard for police that a posted sign showed and now they're looking for answers. sign posted on route 1 in falls township angered at least one local resident and has police wondering if the sign was a poor example of a prank or a serious threat. >> five minutes to 6:00 i was heading to home depot and saw a sign, the only good cop is a dead cop and that really upset me, you know, first thing in the morning the. >> reporter: after seeing the sign mike flagged down an officer and the two of them removed it. he said the sign bothered him because that's not how residents feel about their local police. >> i've lived in this area 20 years and i've never known a falls township police to do harm to anybody. >> reporter: the sign gained additional exposure when police posted it to facebook and challenged whoever did it to come and have a face to face discussion. although the tone was stern, police tell me it was about getting the suspect off the street and any help that they may need. >> i think depending on the person who comes in here, we can certainly share with anybody in our community the way we police the community and why we do the things that we do and in this particular case this may indicate some mental illness on the part of the person that put it up. if that's the case i'd like to connect that person with help. there are services where they can get help and not feel the need to nail a sign to pole. >> reporter: the discussion on social media centers around whether anyone should face charges for the strong words on the sign. police told me even though initially no one was hurt, they are not downplaying the incide incident. >> for us we do take it seriously much this is a threat, and we're investigating it. >> reporter: now, as you pointed out, dawn, there is debate because as shocking as the sign seems, some online are arguing that it's repulse seive but it's montgomery county judge unsealed surveillance video that shows the moments a baby was abducted from the king of prussia mall. it happened back in march. prosecutors say sheree am more approached the mother of a seven week old boy and started up a conversation. minutes later, the video shows her walking off with the infant and quickly exiting the mall. the skin triggered amber alert means say fortunately they found the baby. it was about four hours later at am more's tredyffrin home. am more is facing a list of charges. she waived a formal arraignment that was scheduled for later this month. no word on exactly when she will be back in court. we're getting a look at the man arrested by philadelphia police whose accused of of sexually assaulting a woman behind a shopping center in torresdale. 44-year-old felix ramos facing a tempted rape and related charges to night. investigators say he assaulted a 29-year-old woman in the woods behind dell air shopping center on state road around 6:00 last night. police arrested ramos minutes later blocks away from that alleged attack. philadelphia police are trying to figure out who broke into an office in the city's tioga section and got away with customer's tax information. it happened on may 28th inside the liberty tax service along the 1400 block of west erie avenue. police just released this surveillance video today. cops say the man took several files containing tax information as well as $100 in cash so if you know who he is, please call police. a big name is behind an investigation into contaminated drinking water in pennsylvania. the law firm tied to the eric brokovich case says it is looking into contaminated water in horsham, warrington and warminster. this comes after new epa guidelines showed several towns in the state have elevated levels of cancer causing chemicals. those chemicals are found in foam used during fire fighting at current and former military bases. meanwhile pennsylvania congressman brendon boyle is calling for congressional hearing into possible contaminated ground water at military installations across the country and among them the horsham air guard station. the congressman appeared on good day this morning to talk about the parallels to what's happening there and what's happening in flint, michigan. >> i want to be careful in saying this. i'm nervous that it could become a flint thing. it is like -- it is not like flint in the sense of the scope and i actually met a number of those individuals prototypes and literally you can point to kids who have now died because of the the boy' parents tried to shield the kids from the bullets but one hit the boy inside his own house. he is at crozer chester medical center and police are still searching for the shooter. voters in everything firing up this afternoon moving quickly across the region. and that line moving through philadelphia about the 4:00 o'clock hour. now into interior south jersey and basically off the shore places like atlantic city, ocean city, on the boardwalk, extending through sea isle. ventnor city, longport seeing pockets of heavy rain. not a lot of thunder with this but you can see it extends all the way down the shore as you head even toward wildwood. that will be moving out within the next 15, 20 minutes. you will be seeing some clearing skies. some sunshine before sunset pretty much everywhere. this is where what it looks like outside our studios the temperature 71 degrees after a high of about 83 degrees today. the official number not out just yet. within out of the south at 7 miles an hour. the dew point is at 60 and that's little bit on the sticky side. 71 in the city. 73 in allentown. still warm through south jersey and areas like cape may still holding on to the upper 70s. you can see the warmer air to the north. and to the west. where we didn't see those storms firing up like in harrisburg, new york 79. boston at 84. this is our rain cooled area. but up through upstate new york rather temperatures only in the 60s and this is that cooler air that we'll see moving in overnight tonight and during the day tomorrow. here are the remnants of colin that very fast-moving storm that made landfall right along the big ben area of the panhandle of florida. that was last night. it's already off the coast of virginia and sailing quickly away lot of tropical characteristic. we have the front moving through setting off those showers and a few thunderstorms. and then during the day tomorrow, we have another trough a weak area of instability a front that will be moving through setting off another round of spotty showers and a few thunderstorms. temperatures tomorrow will only be in the lower 70s. so if you step out right now that's what it will feel like tomorrow. it will be windy as well. as we go hour by hour, you can see this evening drying out through the seven, 8:00 o'clock hour. really clear skies during the overnight. and then the clouds begin to move in from the west early tomorrow morning. so the morning commute no weather issues at all. but by the midday period, 11, 12, twenty five try to 70 out for lunch you'll see that line coming through philadelphia a lot like it did today but earlier and then it moves offshore by the afternoon and then drying out by the evening commute. so tomorrow's rain is going to come on the earlier side most of us will be seeing it between about 10am and 2:00 p.m. as we track colin the remnants moving well out to sea. and it will be well to the south of nova scotia by wednesday afternoon and into thursday. so this storm is history as they say. quiet in the tropics for now. showers end this evening. skies will clear. low temperatures falling into the 50s. our wind becoming northwesterly and that is a cool wind for us. the high tomorrow only 72 with some scattered showers. winds gusting to 30 miles an hour. on your exclusive fox 297 day forecast, 75 thursday. 78 friday. of additional screeners across the country. but now the senate homeland security committee is asking the tsa administrator what more can be done to help keep the nation moving. lawmakers agree the agency needs to find a new balance between security and convenience. >> some might even be tempted to say we can't have both. that effective security measures and variably bring with them inconvenience, lines and even missed flights. i disagree. >> reporter: but the tsa is getting support from homeland security's inspector general. he's satisfied with new step the administration is taking to improve screenings at airports after major lapses were found last year. >> we've retrain the entire work force and retooled our performance measure to ensure we stay focused on security mission. tsa is assessing its deficiencies in an honest and objective light. >> with wait times down in hubs like chicago and atlanta, most passengers are saying they're satisfied for now. and many of those still faced with long lines at security checkpoints say they're taking it in stride. >> i mean, it's good for us. security is protection for us and taking care of suss what we're looking for. >> the tsa says it's still waiting for house lawmakers to appropriate $28 million in additional funding on top of the 34 million already approved. in washington, doug mckelway, fox news. american
