I just heard a lot of loud talking and it went on for so long i finally got up and look out the window. Reporter carol ricks rushed to her window when she heard a loud commotion outside her home on locust street in west philly. What she saw was not what she expected. I saw a gentleman lying in the street, and a little farther up a lady sitting on the ground leaning against the car. Reporter it was around 3 00 hit this afternoon that police say a man driving a gray car came barreling down locust street from 60th street and plowed into a crowd of people. Three people were hit. The driver kept going. There was a Million Police it seemed. Reporter investigators say it started when a large group of people about 20 of them ranging in age from their 20 toss 50s got into a fight at 60th and spruce. One group then walked to locust street where they were standing in the middle of the block. We believe someone from the other party called someone, a male comes down locust street from 60th street at a high rate of speed. Reporter driver hit three people. A 27yearold man arc 27yearold woman and a 52yearold woman. Several others were lucky enough to get out of the way in time. That was Shawnette Wilson reporting from West Philadelphia tonight. Police are looking for a gray color in this case. It may be an impala but they are not sure. Theyre still going through surveillance videos from cameras in the area for any leads. Well, bad news for commuters who use the Delaware River bridge connecting pennsylvania and new jersey. It will be at least two more months until that worth is completed.
