Live from center city in philadelphia this is fox 29 news at 10 00. Right now at 10 00 police in Delaware County need help finding this man. They say he shot three people less than 24 hours ago. Two of those people died. One of them was just 16 years old. Good evening, everybody. Im joyce evans. Now tonight the shooter is still roaming the streets. A third victim, a 15yearold is recovering from his gunshot wounds. Our Joanne Pileggi has been following this investigation all day long much shes life in colwyn borough tonight with the very latest details. Joanne . Reporter thats right, joyce. We are just a couple of blocks away from the shooting scene right here at the police station. This is the story that everyone in colwyn is talking about. Who is this shooter and when are police going to find him . Violence got to stop. Reporter gina bell heard the gunshots in her neighborhood last night. Some people ran. She didnt. The guy was over there laying on the ground dead. I just kneeled down and start praying for him. Reporter police say it all started when group of young adults and teens start the fighting in the street at the intersection of south fourth and walnut in colwyn. Some say one group was local. The other from south west phil philly. Liked like the kids were going to fight, and then this one boy just came up and take gun out and start shooting at people. Reporter cops say the gunman scene here on Surveillance Video from a camera at the corner restaurant fired multiple times as many as ten and when it was over, a 16yearold and a 20yearold man were fatally wounded. Another teen had been shot in the arm. Its sad somebody child actually died right there. I think its just like environment theyve been around they see it on tv people shoo shooting people, and i think its just kind of crazy that it happens to people that our age. Reporter carol and her friends were in the neighborhood today saddened by the violence. Trying to get other teens off the street and into a local church group. Stay safe, um, dont putt pull out guns and stuff and try to work it out by talking to each other not using violence or anything like that. Reporter police are asking for your help. If you know the man in the Surveillance Video, you are asked to contact police. Victims names have not yet been released but were told there will be a candlelight vigil sometime tomorrow evening. Thats where ten passengers of an American Airlines flight from greece were taken to the hospital this afternoon for injuries related to severe air turbulence. The flight landed in philadelphia just after 3 00 p. M. Three passengers and seven crew members were treat transported. The flight had 299 people on board. And on your radar tonight, not much to be concerned about at least for tonight. Takng a live look along the ben franklin parkway. A beautiful saturday night out there. But it was early this morning and then once it moved on through, it was out of there. Things started to clear out really nicely as we headed into the afternoon. Heres look at the ultimate Doppler Radar now. Not really much going on as we shedded through the evening and now were getting closer to the overnight but heres what those storms did leave hyped. Some cooler air. Our highs across the board in the upper 70s. Were talking 79 was your high today in philadelphia. Look at your average. 87. We were well below that in reading 76 degrees. So cooler air that was ushered in behind those storms. Heres where we stand now. 73 in philadelphia. Wilmington coming into the upper 60s. You can see mount pocono already diving into the upper 50s. Now tomorrow will be absolutely gorgeous day. Were keeping these nice and comfortable temperatures. Afternoon high of 81. But weve got lots of sunshine especially it will be sunny to start then as we head into around 7 00 oclock, clouds do start to fill in its a mainly dry forecast. But as we head into the afternoon and evening well start to see more clouds ahead of the system bringing us some rain chances as we head into our monday. Huge tree came down knocking out power lines and that left a lot of residents in the dark and without their airconditioners. Fox 29s Jennifer Joyce check out how folks were cleaning up after the storm. We were sleeping and at 3 30 i heard a big crack. And then all these lights flas says she and her husband shot out of bed and walk outside to see the mess sea afternoon a summer storm a tree across north street bringing down lines at chapman avenue snapping utility pole in half. Scary, yes. Surprising, not to these doylestown neighbors. Theyve been eyeing this tree for awhile. One tree that went down has been tilted further and further every month. We were concerned. We dont drive out that street if its rainy or windy. Because of that tree. And now that tree creating a lot of work for utility crews and a feeling of frustration for a few thousand people without power. A big mess no power but major relief. This tree narrowly missed this house here on the corner and thank goodness no one was driving along this road when all of this happen in the middle of the night. A quiet block, now buzzing with the sound of generators as peco crews estimate the outage will last into sunday. Net obrien is using a generator to keep his fridge cool. Hes got coolers with ice, too. Thats because the obriens have company visiting from italy. And prepower outage planned to host a neighborhood get together tonight. Well see what happens. In doylestown, Jennifer Joyce, fox 29 news. And happening now, Philadelphia Police have released information about a fatal car accident in the citys fairmount neighborhood. It happened around 10 00 p. M. At the intersection of kelly drive and fountain green. Police say a man on motorcycle tried to make left turn and was hit by an suv driven by an 18yearold. The man was transported to Hahnemann Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police are still investigating the crash. No charges have yet been filed. Tonight police are still looking for the woman who robbed a bang in north philadelphia. She is seen right here in surveillance photos at the Citizens Bank on the 1,000 block of west Allegheny West lehigh avenue i should say. Police say the suspect wearing a scarf that covers most of her face walk into the bank and handed a note to the teller. Then she ran off with an unknown amount of cash. The fbi and Philadelphia Police are investigating. Well, roads are back open after a car crash in olney early this morning. Two men were seen running away from the accident in the 5100 block of masher street. Two people were transported to einstein medical center. Their conditions we do not know. Police are still investigating the cause of the crash and theyre still looking for those men who took off running. Well, President Trump may be away from washington at his golf club in new jersey, but he insists hes keeping busy. Hes working there. Yes, we are tyler never imagining hed been on nba court playing a little oneonone with his hero. Tylers mom in tears as she watched her son whose been through so much enjoy the best day of his life. No words. Look at him. Its all worth it. He will remember this forever. Reporter tyler has been side lined for almost two months much his hospital room at chop decorated for the one and only number 25. Tyler captured our hearts with his wish to meet ben simmons and a return tweet to me got the ball rolling. It means a lot to me obviously. Hes a strong kid. So when i see if i can help somebody i love to do that. This kid just walk out receive hab yesterday, and this is what he can do today. So its such a testament of his will and his strength but then to finally get his wish to come true and to actually meet ben today its its just overwhelming. Spokane county washington sheriffs deputy see as car coming down the highway and jumps into the trunk of his car to avoid it just in the nick of time. The deputy was laying down some spike strips to stop the driver who was part of highspeed cha chase. Those strips clearly did not work. But the driver was caught later and arrested on multiple charges jumping into his own trunk. Well, police in Humane Society were on the scene friday at a warehouse in montclair, california authorities found thousands of animals some dead and some alive. Chickens and other birds, snakes, fish and other exotic animals all crammed in there. Investigators say the conditions inside the warehouse were appalling. Trash, debris, feces on the ground, deceased animals on the ground, animals canal balance liesing eating other animals. No food, no water, the stench was very bad. Investigators say the owner of the animals was arrested this week on an unrelated charge, and is now facing charges of felony animal cruelty. John the Governor Join the lifeguards in 1967 and 50 years later hes still there. The town of oyster bay, new york, honored the 68yearold man on friday for his 50 years of service. Mcgovern is a retired physical Education Teacher who spends a lot of his time in companies at a ricoh with his family but he still finds sometime to come back every summer to captain his lifeguard team. He played baseball and basketball in high school. His future was bright. But during his sophomore year in high school he discovered marijuana. I knew from when i first picked up marijuana you can say its a non a addictive substance but my brain wanted to be high all the time. Reporter from there, justin found open 88s first it was pills a lot easier to get. I dont have to sneak off and smoke it. I i can just put it in my mouth in swallow it. I can do it wherever i want. Pills are expensive. 2,530 pill. Eventually justin turned to heroin theyre not as potent as bag of heroin would be for ten dollars. This the path that just a lot easier to take. When youre that deep struggling with addiction. Justins parents terry and jan have been married for 41 years. Justin is their youngest son. During high school they noticed justins grades slipping. He was losing interest in sports. Just part of being teenager they thought. Others noticed a change in justin. A neighbor suggested to terry she drug test justin. Oh, what . You know, no. He would never do that. I decided i was going to stop and get a drug test and i did it and sure enough. We were shocked. My mom in conversations with her today i was going to pass. Didnt think i was doing what i was doing. Ill never forget the pain that i saw on their face when they realized kind of what was going on. I was named after my grandfather.
