. live from center city in philadelphia. this is fox 29 news at 10:00. right now at 10:00. blue skies at the jersey shore, darkened by smoke homes in wildwood crest. go up in flames >> near and far, people from miles around knew something terrible was happening. grabbed phones and starting snapping pictures and taking videos. people were flocking to see what was going on. i'm >> i'm iain page. the good news, no one is hurt. joan pileggi got the story from wildwood crest >> a unsettling end to the weekend in wildwood crest, a multi-alarm fire breaks out an explosion occurs and two homes are destroyed. this video tells the story. shows the aerial view of this double house fair. as the drone hovered above. dozens of firefighters from wildwood crest and neighboring companies were on the ground. local residents watching in fear. >> we were worried about we didn't know if people were actually still in the house or not. i saw black smoke coming out and then there was bright orange flame and chuck ran over and was getting everybody out of the two houses >> chuck banged on the doors of both houses before firefighters arrived. a woman was inside one of the homes >> i told her to get heck out of her house because her house was on fire >> i live street. both houses were fully involved. to the error of the building >> the chief says the fire intensified after pro taken tanks exploded. he pulled the men out fearing either structure could collapse. and indeed, one roof did. with the assistance of seven mutual aid companies. they hoped everyone got out >> my heart goes out to the family. thank god nobody got hurt. >> reporter: the good thing, no one was injured. fire investigators trying to figure out how all of this started. in wildwood crest, joanne pileggi, fox 29 news. a man is in critical condition in a local hospital right now after someone shot him inside a southwest philadelphia bar. it happened along the 6500 block of dicks avenue before 5:00. investigators say an argument outside the bar moved inside and then someone shot a 24-year-old in the chest. police are still looking for the shooter. robbers in disguise and on the run. police are searching for two men, one dressed as a sanitation worker, they had cleaning on their minds, but it was delaware county store's register they wanted to clean out >> police say these guys rob the store at gunpoint. brad sattin is live in upper darby. they chose an unusual place to rob. >> reporter: that's for sure. no one claimed criminals are the smartest. as we pan over to the right is the building where the robbery actually happened. having said that. the suspect still are on the loose tonight. store surveillance video shows man wearing a sanitation vest pointing a gun. one of two men who walked into the edible arrangement store in drexel hill around 11:30 saturday morning. an employee at an indiana restaurant spoke to the victim >> he told me that somebody come to his shop. hit him in the face. and he shock and he show add gun. >> reporter: the man armed with handguns tied the employees hand with a zip tie. the victim able to get away ran to the restaurant where this man was able to cut him loss. the suspects were quickly gone with the cash. long time shoppers watching the surveillance video can't believe it. >> i think it's horrible. terrible. i've been living here my entire life. it's one of the worst things i can imagine >> to infringe upon someone's business and try to take the easy way out to make money. and scare people. it's awful. >> hard to see faces one man wore a sixers cap, the other again with the sanitation vest. police are asking if you have any information to give them a call. and so the search is ongoing the victim, by the way, was not seriously hurt. >> thank you. new tonight, a messy scene in north philadelphia, this is what the intersection of 13th and master street looked like, a two-car accident sent one of the of cars through a light pole. neither drive has serious injuries. one person died on the vine street expressway. police shut down the eastbound lanes bound 5:00 this morning, the crash involved two cars and a person walking. that person died at the hahnemann hospital. what exactly they were doing we don't know. the drivers are also hurt. the expressway is back open. police found 45-year-old dead. they were responding to reports of gunshots. someone had shot her several times, police say they're investigating. so far have not made arrests. officials in lehigh county have identified the people involved in a police standoff that ended in a murder suicide. 25-year-old and 33-year-old were dead late last night. started when police tried to pull over the couple. in a call for an outstanding warrant. the couple fired at them and residents say the couple went door to door trying to steal a car. they barricaded themselves in house and when police went in, the couple was dead. police say they never fired a shot. tragic news out of chester county. a young boy is dead after a fire tore through his home. investigators say a family member arrived to find the house in flames. firefighters found the boy inside the home, he had died. we don't know if anyone else was home at the time. the fire marshal said the flames broke out in the kitchen. developing on the weather front, it is now official. the weather service national two tornados tore through one new jersey town. we first showed you this video last last night. people stuck in a home depot as severe storms rolled through yesterday. they posted this on the facebook page. nash weather service says one tornado touched down around 7:20 and just six minutes later, another did as well. tornado hit about 75 miles an hour, the twisteds downed all kinds of power lines and trees in central and south jersey. it's been clear skies on the radar, no matter where you were, in our area, there was pretty much picture perfect weather to be outside. let's check in with monica. >> tornados one day, blue skies the next >> those were early saturday morning, the rest of the day, once those storms cleared out, saturday and sunday like we were saying, picture perfect. here we are looking at the ultimate doppler radar. notice there's feedback. isolated showers, that's about it. most stayed clear and dry. temperatures at 78 in philadelphia. we're starting to drop from our high in the mid 80's later this -- earlier this afternoon. we're at 68 in allentown, 76 for those of us in dover. we're going to go see temperatures drop into the low 60's kind of a refreshing start to our monday morning. 76 degrees around noon. due points still in the low 50's. not only our temperatures going to be comfortable. those due points will be low. of we don't have much relative humidity we'll be dealing with. 81 is your high with a lot of sunshine in store. those winds out of the w five to ten miles per hour, lots of sunshine, a drier setup. i'll talk about that in your full forecast. stick around. terrifying moments at an amusement park. this wasn't a show to entertain guests. girl hanging from that ride somehow got loose from that suspended car, 25 feet in the air. the 15-year-old girl is from sussex county, miraculously only minor injuries. >> reporter: harrowing moments at a six flags amusement park a 14-year-old girl dangling from a ride about 25 feet in the air while horrified park visitors watched. >> her neck is stuck. seconds later the crowd gathered directly underneath the girl. ready to catch her before she hits the ground. the girl hit the tree as she fell into the arms of about half dozen guests and securely personnel. they carried her to a golf cart and taken to a hospital with no serious injuries >> you understand that somebody falling could cause damage to you or whoever you're catching it's better off to suffer minor injury to save someone and that's what those guys ultimately did. >> releasing a statement saying, quote, the safety and security of our guests is our top priority. there does not appear to be any malfunction of the ride, but we closed the attraction until a thorough review can be completed. one of the people who caught the girl has minor injuries but no regrets >> knowing she's all right because of me and my daughter, made it worth it >> god put us in the right place at the right time. we were able to something good and saved a child's life >> fox news. this kind of shaking and rat telling not what you want to see. the pilot telling passengers to pray. love from the city moments when just seconds matter. >> reporter: house full of pets and people trying to get them out as a fire spreads. >> when our crews arrived there was heavy fire and smoke starting to spread on the home. >> reporter: before firefighters arrived on scene, someone else jumped in to help. >> robert sweeney walking his route when he saw the trouble. he picked set up a hose and did what he could. >> smoke was everywhere and he was just a guy in the middle. >> above and beyond for a postal carrier. i just. . >> reporter: he may be a bit choked up. if you got trouble. this is a guy you want around. we found a story from 2008. at profile we did on robert sweeney after he saved the life of a baby girl back then they happened to find sweeney on his route and she had a seizure. he gave her cpr and kept her alive until paramedics showed up. >> they didn't got the burned out and a dog, they had kittens in the front living room there but the back there hopefully they didn't get smoke. >> this attack happened after the angry customer after they got a reif you wanted. >> he still got kicked off a plane. the story? it's a doozy. . check this out. couple unhappy about the food, the chicken was cold and didn't get enough fries. they started throwing punches. it happened on thursday. police say the pair was so upset that the woman punched the restaurant owner and when the 15-year-old daughter got involved, a guy punched her as well. the mom a broken nose and the daughter recovering from a concussion. this happened after they gave them a refund, police are looking for them. >> that is ridiculous. colorado man says spirit airlines kicked him off flight from las vegas because he's overweight. he did everything right. was trying tore courteous when he booked his flight. booked two seats because of his size knowing he and other passengers would be more comfortable. he bought two tickets. but he said spirit airlines overbooked the flight. they offered him a voucher for a later flight but needed to get home. he says airline officials kicked him off the plane >> i'm a big person and i know one seat won't fit for me. and i wanted to to have two seats >> people were watching him and always like they looked at i got to sit next to that. >> spirit airlines said it is looking into the incident and it has refunded him. a town in kentucky got something about it stranger than its name, it's about who's in charge >> maybe more cities should take note. the town's mayor is a dog and the dog's name is brenn he think paltrow. the town's mayor beat out a been removed but reportedly complained about entitled college kids and blamed the parent for that thinking. the university of delaware says she will not be rehired to teach in the future. 100 deserving high schoolers are going to college for free. tabernacle church presented a check for $100,000 for the community of college of philadelphia. supports the 50th anniversary program which goes towards the education of 100 students. >> it completely transforms their lives. philadelphia is a city with fairly wide and deep poverty. many citizens listing under that poverty are only looking for an opportunity to get into the mainstream of society. we think that this is transformtive >> the donations. came from the parishioner in hers. triathlons did their thing. won it all. >> sabina kuriakose was there as athletes took on the challenge. >> reporter: thrilling victory on home turf 24-year-old jason first passed the finish line for the men's portion of the escape triathlon in fairmount park >> it's my first day, mom's dad are here. >> reporter: right by the finish line for the high school graduate. the triathlon attracts athletes from all over including olympicians. this was his first win and mom could not be prouder >> this is so great, i'm so happy for him. >> reporter: this year was dry. the swim portion cancelled because the storm led to recover waters and more debris. 1200 athletes ran, biked and ran more in this intense test of endurance. competed in the woman's group most winning here is the icing but it's not the whole cake >> to finish and have a good or cold. it's just right. >> you guys are exactly right. we're going to go see temperatures drop a bit. for your afternoon highs. i think that will be nice, when you consider your high 86 and it will drop to the low 80's and possibly some areas not even getting out of the 70s had. let's talk about it we're at 78 in philadelphia. here's your high like i was saying, 86 many of us reaching the mid 80's as those winds came out of the west with a southerly component, that helped some of the warm air, here's what's going to happen, we're going to go see the jet stream take a dip and that will push in a cooler air mass dropping afternoon highs by a few degrees. that's why i was saying, you may not need to use your air conditioner. here's what we're expecting, monday, 81, average, 85. we're a few degrees below that. then on tuesday, some of us may not even reach out of the 70's staying well below that average for this time of year. that will be a nice feel especially since those due points are also going to be on lower side, futurecast is showing us some of that dry weather that we can enjoy, expecting mostly clear skies through overnight into early monday morning as well. monday afternoon there may be isolated showers, you can't rule that out. you see a few isolated showers. tuesday, quiet start and through the afternoon, maybe an isolated shower. 85 for your high tomorrow, mostly sunny pleasant, winds anywhere from five, maybe 15 miles per hour, down the shore, we're thinking low 80's on our monday, tuesday, 79 high. there is a slight storm chance as we head to tuesday afternoon. here's a look at that seven-day forecast. 10s across the board. we're expecting temperatures to be dropping, lots of sunshine and we are going to go see due points comfortable as well. we're going to keep it into the low 80, upper 70's tuesday into wednesday, mainly dry forecast, thursday, temperatures start to go right back up and it's starting to soar. we're looking at temperatures by friday and into saturday in the 90's, 95 on friday and saturday 91. enjoy these cooler temperatures. because it will get hot. ardmore it's all about construction on this perfect sunday. hard hats are requirement for the big dig construction. the first 300 kids got three hard hats. and blueprints for the day. and checking out dump trucks and excavators and got to dig and build and have fun. a beautiful day for another year of the manayunk arts festival. checking out the work it's the 28th year of this festival. the showcases unique works from 300 local and national artists
