i'm lucy noland. >> i'm iain page. the bullets ended up just missing a woman. let's get right out to our shawnette wilson. she's live at the scene tonight. shawnette. >> reporter: so police tell us the woman who owns the car that was shot at also owns did he lie's nightclub this started to unfold around 6:00 o'clock this evening. police don't know if she was the intended target but they say it's a possibility. a weigh vacant apartment building under construction on the 100 block of spring garden turned into a crime scene this evening when philadelphia police got a call from three men doing renovations. >> they were inside the building when they heard three gunshots and they believed that the gunshots came from inside of the building. >> reporter: swat showed up to go floor by floor in the five-story building but didn't find anyone. but police say they did notice an open window with two bullet strike marks oint. then a twist in the investigation. involving a wolf who works at a business in the plaza at spring garden across the street. >> she was getting into her car and her parking lot when she heard three gunshots. then she realized that cher vehicle was struck two times by gunfire. as a matter of fact the two strike marks on the car were on the driver's side. >> reporter: police say the woman owns did he lila's nightclub in the shopping center. security guards lined up in the lot to try and keep media off the property. police say one bullet went through the driver's side windshield and the other through the front corner. the woman was just inches away from where the bullets hit her car. >> the woman was definitely shaken up. she was scared. >> reporter: and there are certainly a lot of businesses in this area. police say they will be looking at surveillance video as of right now no one has been arrested. iain. >> all right, shawnette, thank you. sky fox over a big emergency in buck county. this is the 100 block of heart wood road in levittown that's where a pick up somehow wound up crashing into a house. this hammed around 7:30 this tonight. we're told medics took one person to saint mary medical center. we do not know their condition. people across the country and around the world are sharing this video with their friends right now. you know some folks remember philadelphians from booing santa claus but this video turns that upside down and inside out. >> we showed you the video two guys helping another runner in distress yesterday. now, we're hearing from that woman's family and the guy who's helped her. let's get out to our chris o'connell live in south philadelphia. chris? >> reporter: well, iain, first of all, the woman in that video we talked to her family. she is doing well tonight. much better and you have to forgive the work out clothes tonight. good reason i had a chance to go for a nighttime run with some of philadelphia's newest viral heroes. >> real close, you know, like a family. >> reporter: if you know joe mcginty and brine sir come vick you know philadelphia's running community. >> it's always let's go. you looking great. you know just real positive. >> reporter: training buddies took me for run around south philly as the overnight social media heroes described what happened at the finish line of this weekend's love run half marathon. >> i was thinking she was about to go down and she needed help. and i just stopped. >> reporter: in the dramatic video that's now gone viral, 21-year-old haley clinger from lancaster county nearly collapses. her knees buckle from dehydration. just 50 feet from the finish line. there you see brian and another man help hail toll her feet. then moments later, that's joe picking up haley in his arms. the ups driver and try athlete carried her to just inches from the finish line. so she can cross herself. >> just picked her up and said let's go. we got her to the finish line. >> she's well today. she's back at school. she's studying. she's recovered from the dehydration. >> her father joined us on the phone from florida. his daughter scene here on her facebook page is an athlete at messiah college near harrisburg. she prefers to stay private while studying for finals. >> just so appreciative that someone was so self -- unselfish to stop running their race to help her get across the line. >> reporter: for these guys it's a simple good deed. one that's been seen millions of times over. >> until my cousin called me at 6:00 o'clock and said, you're all over facebook. you're all over the news. >> they want that glory of walking over that line, you kn know, and i didn't want to take that away from her. you know. she earned it. >> reporter: now, little bit more on haley. the 21-year-old is about to embark on a church missionary trip to bolivia. she wants nothing to do with any of this media attention even though that video has been viewed millions, last, 15 million times now. her dad says the last comment he got from her said, dad, i got to go. i got to study. iain, that's dedication. >> all right, chris, good for her. thank you. search is on for the man in this video scene running with a gun. >> police say he chased a guy down the street in the city's olney section then opened fire. all happened friday night on 5,000 block of north fifth street. >> the 30-year-old victim was shot several times. fox 29's dave schratwieser joins us live from police headquarters with new information. dave? >> iain, family members of the victim tell us he was simply walking to the store friday evening just after 6:00 when he was ambushed from behind by that gunman. he managed to make it out into the street as the gunman took off. he's in critical but stable condition tonight at the hospital and his mother is speaking with fox 29. >> i just want the person caught who harmed my child. >> reporter: those words from the victim's mother monday night after surveillance cameras captured her son being chased down on shot friday night. police say this man in the camouflage pants carried out the shooting. still concerned the victim's mom asked not to identify her. >> he's a good hearted person. i don't know who would do this to him. >> reporter: it happened around 6:15 as 30-year-old core 1980's cooper walk to the store along the 500 block of russ come. the gunman carrying a 40 caliber handgun with an extended magazine approached on the opposite side of the street then crowd over and gave chase. >> he can be clearly seen on video shooting at him. the male falls the victim falls down, gets back up. at this time the shooter actual right up on him. >> thank god we got this store secure. we got buzzer. >> reporter: melissa sews san her co-worker had just closed up the metro pcs store on the corner moments before the shooting. but the store surveillance cameras captured the crime. she says this area is usuall bustling with cars and people shopping on a friday night. >> it shouldn't be no reason why we should always have to worry about what's going to happen next. >> puts the whole community in danger. >> it was lucky that just one person got hit. >> reporter: there's a daycare center an early learning center a hundred feet from the shooting scene. police say the gunman hired more than half a dozen shots. cooper was hit five times and raced to the hospital in critical condition. >> i just want him to turn himself in. best bet turn himself in. that extended magazine may have held as many as 25 rounds. the gun was not recovered to the scene. there's no motive in this shooting. police also tell me tonight gunman may be from the very same neighborhood where the shooting occurred. iain? >> dave, thanks. it's been about a year since a bucks county police corporal was shock on the job. >> now michael pitcher seeing septa three engineers and two conductors last march the morr morrisville officer was working on drug investigation in plain clothes when someone he spied what he thought was a dealer near the doylestown train station. that person saw picture and police say through the drugs on top of the train. when pitcher went to get the drugs his back touched wires shocked him and left him with second and third degree burns. police say he thought the electricity was off. tragic accident at a bank in cheltenham. a big safety deposit box crushed and killed a man. police say 35-year-old jonathan mouse and two other workers trying to move it at a wells fargo when it fell on top of him. a new clue tonight in the vandalism at a synagogue in mayfair. tonight police say two kids were caught on surveillance video throwing a rock through a window at temple menorah kenseth hi synagogue much police are not releasing the video to the public because they think the culprits are between ages of 12 to 14 but investigators will still use it to find them. >> it doesn't to be an act of antisemitic. just mischievous kids. >> you should have seen me first thing this and when when i got the phone call. i was still very upset. >> what would you like to say to the kids. i'd like to talk to the parents and find out what the parents know about all of this and why don't they keep track of their kids. >> synagogue bought security cameras after they had more windows broken back in january and december. police think the same kids could be responsible for all the vandalism. four deaths in one day. one common denominator. heroin. new castle county police say officers responded to four separate incidents today in the wilmington, newark and claymont areas. police have not released any other details about the victims only saying they found evidence of heroin at every scene. a philadelphia doctor is in trouble with the law prosecutors say 29-year-old peter grossman hacked into the e-mail, phone and social media accounts some of his former high school classmates. the victims all women went to delran high school with him in south jersey. police say grossman made copies of more than 2,000 photos of these women. he's now facing a number of charges. twin baby girls who died inside a home in lindenwold, camden county last week will soon have a funeral. the two girls' family had lay them to rest on saturday at worcester funeral home in clementon. both baby girls ended up unresponsive signed a home last wednesday. investigators are looking into how they died. philadelphia police now have a suspect wanted for two food truck robberies. police are looking for 24-year-old brahim hinton. he held up the food truck owners at gun .2 weeks ago. first happened on 45th and walnut. he got away with 500 bucks. the second was on 34th and lancaster. he also got away with cash. thankfully no one was hurt. he dressed up like the joker but what cops say he did is no joke. >> cash just laying on the sidewalk. of course people grabbed it. they may want to gift back after the news we found out. >> hotdog horror a warning about hotdogs that might just be poison. >> kathy? that are going to be moving in. associated with a warm front. this warm front is going to be stalling dividing our region in half and also bringing the threat of few showers and even a threat of thunderstorms during tomorrow afternoon. as we go hour by hour, during the early morning hours, temperatures warming up through the 40s into the 50s with a occasional showers through the day and then i'm watching this line moving up from the southwest afternoon through wilmington, through philadelphia, through trenton, and that could be around of showers and even a few em imbedded thunderstorms with temperatures warming through the 60s into the 70s to the south but 50s and even 40s to the north and west in the afternoon. philadelphia i think we'll end up in the mid to upper 60s. the winds will be kicking up tomorrow as well by tomorrow afternoon we'll see winds out of the northeast at about 15 miles an hour. but it's wednesday that the sun comes back out and the winds kick up out of the north. so that's cooler wind for us. gusting to 22 miles an hour wednesday morning in philadelphia. in the poconos and lehigh valley gusting to 25 miles an hour. so wednesday will be sunny. but it will be breezy. overnight tonight looking for a low of 52 in philadelphia. with patchy fog. a night much like last night and some showers during the early morning hours. during the day tomorrow, showers, even in afternoon thunderstorm. morning fog could be an issue the high temperature around 67 in the city. to the north and west temperatures in the 50's. on your seven day forecast from the weather authority, wednesday gusty with temperatures in the 60s. thursday a very pleasant day. friday potential for soaker and by this i mean we're talking a developing coastal storm that could be bringing about one to twenty fives of rain on friday. friday will definitely be a bit of a rainy day and some of this rain could linger into the day on saturday. so keeping an eye on that. then drying out for your sunday and your monday with temperatures staying in the 60s. remember april 1st is saturday. it is going to be a very soggy start. now, we do have hurricane season coming up that's in about two months. on june 1st. but new news out of the world meteorological organization that we do have two retired hurricane names matthew and otto. the world meteorological organization does retire these names if the storms have been so deadly or destructive that future use of the names could be incentive and these particular storms did ravage the caribbean, so they will be retired. you'll no
