so far march has been quite the roller coaster ride. >> and the cold isn't all we're talking about, as we take live look over the ben franklin parkway. the fox 29 weather authority is tracking a winter storm. and it has all the potential of dumping some serious snow on the delaware valley, good evening everybody, i'm joyce evans. >> i'm dawn timoney. the start. week could be a real mess. but for now, we're just talking about the bitter cold. high temperature in philadelphia only reaching 32 degrees, making it the coldest day of the month. it has been a wild and wooly forecast, we talk it over to monica to find out what exact have i next, we're afraid to ask. >> i know, things are going to get worse as we head into the new work week, guys, specking snow. >> we have temperatures through the afternoon into the 30's, 34 degrees was your high today. in wilmington, and you can see, allentown topping upper 20's. here's where we stands right now, 27 degrees for those every us in atlantic city, 28 in philadelphia, 22 degrees for those of just pottstown, but it feels even colder than that. we've been dealing with a winds all day long, windchill factors 15 in philadelphia, 17 atlantic city feels more like 14 for those of us in allentown, specking temperatures over night to take a big dip. talking into the low 20's in the city, suburbs, in the teens. under mostly clear skies. with the winds from ten to 15 miles per hourment look at this, a winter storm watch already in place for the entire region. that goes through monday night into early tuesday, i've got the full forecast coming up about the snow and when it is expected to arrive in just a bit, guys. >> monica, thank you so much. remember when any storm approaches, you can always get up-to-the-minute forecast and see live ultimate doppler radar on our website fox29.com. we'll also post all of the school closings there, as well. now, to a developing story out of philadelphia tioga nicetown neighborhood. a 13 year old boy fight willing for his life after being shot in the head. now police want to talk to these two guys. they say surveillance video shows the men just having a casual conversation with the victim when then one of them pulls out a gun, puts it to the teenager's head and pulls the trigger. it all happened last night inside a chain east take out restaurant. >> the shooting has left a community stunned and they're calling for an end to the violence. fox 29's jennifer joyce has more now from the neighborhood where this all happened. >> i am done. i am done. >> debra, done with the violence, she lives across the feet from goldfish chinese restaurant on west hunting park avenue where police say a 13 year old boy was shot in the head last night while he was ordering take out food with a friends. the child was returned to temple university hospital in extremely critical condition. >> why would you shoot a 13 year old? you can walk away from a 13 year old instead of shooting him. he's a kid, he's a kid for real. >> anthony douglas said he walked by the busy police scene late last night on his way home from work. >> all night. >> inside and outside the restaurant detectives combed for clues, police say, initial information indicates that the victim and the shooter exchanged a few words. then he drew his gun and shot the 13 year old at point blank range. the child was lying on the floor, unresponsive, when police arrived. >> this is really terrible. >> he wants action. >> they should bring town watch back in the area which would be really, really great. i feel terrible to hear something like that to happen, for me to live this close. >> police tell us there is surveillance video that should help with the investigation. they're trying to piece together clues as a 13 year old is fighting for his life in the hospital. reporting from north philadelphia, i'm jennifer joyce, "fox 29 news." >> police still have not made any arrest tonight as they look for any information that you may have on those shooters. at last check that 13 year old remains in extremely critical condition. >> happening now, in philadelphia's logan neighborhood, police investigating why a man died moments after being discovered inside someone else's home. that homeowner woke up this morning to find a man just sitting on his couch in his living room. >> from there, it got violent, dawn. fox 29's brad sattin here in the studio tonight to sort it all out for us tonight. you spoke with the homeowner? >> this is hard to imagine, few things scarier in life maybe hearing a noise in the middle of the night, going downstairs to find a stranger in your house. >> nobody safe inside their own home. >> this man who ask we in the identify him came home from work just before 3:00 this morning to his home on 12th street in philadelphia's logan section. he and his wife had just fallen asleep. >> i heard some noise downstairs. my dog started barking. i come downstairs the steps and see this guy sitting in my living room. never seen this guy a day in my life. he just was there, i asked him what he was doing, he is said he was homeless. >> from there he said it escalated. i said he had to go. got into a fight. dragged him outside the house, put him on the porch and held him down noticable cops came. >> the 54 year old was unconscious so they started cpr. he was returned to einstein medical center where he died t appears he had gotten into the house through unlocked front window. a woman who asked we not identify her tells us she's the man's girlfriends and says he wasn't homeless, but they live together a block away. can you figure out at all what he would have been doing in that house? scientists battled winds up to 119 miles per hour, one brave soul decided to step outside with a flag to make this video. the observatory located about 130 miles north of boston holds the worlds records for the stronger winds speed, 230-mile per hour gusts were recorded there back in 1934. >> wow back to your fox 29 weather authority now. well, you can see a flag there. it is moving about. but not too bad. here in old city. but even bigger story is that the cold is really bitter and the impending snow that could make a mess out of the start of the work week. meteorologist, monica has a low down on the return of went near big way. >> back and forth at times settling down, but the winds have been kicking up out of the northwest, looking at 18 miles per hour, so making the temperatures into the uptore's feel more like we're at cold 15 degrees. but i want to show you your future cast. let's get right into the forecast for the rest of the weekends. you can see through the rest of the evening, and as we head into the overnight, through tomorrow morning, we're going to keep it clear. by tomorrow morning, we are looking at some nice sunshine. but we lose an hour of sleep. don't forget. it is spring ahead, start of daylight saving time, you can turn your clock if you want now, about an hour ahead. or an hour ahead because we are entering daylight saving. all right, let's take a look at your forecast for the parade for tomorrow. 9:00 a.m., this is before the parade gets going, still chilly, temperatures into the 20's, but will feel more like the teens. around the start of the parade, noontime, lunch hour, 32 degrees, by the ends, not so bad. 37 degrees. still way below average. we've got cold air settled in. but we have some nice sunshine to look forward to. now, we're going to really track the system that's headed our way. it is going to really start off in the pacific northwest, head through the midwest, into the great lakes region as we head into monday. that's one low pressure system. then we have a coastal low that we're also watching. these two will feed into each other. really strengthen as they move through the mid-atlantic region. we are expecting here along the i95 corridor some of the highest snowfall amounts from this coastal low. now, as for the exact amounts, there are some discrepancies. here's y1 track the gfs hugging more closer, the euro, little further out, now the european is saying three-6 inches of snow throughout the entire delaware valley. i think some others are favoring the american model. the american model or the gfs has a bit closer to the coastline, six to 12 inches possible for southeast pennsylvania, and parts of new jersey, the very northern parts of delaware, and then into south jersey, three to 6 inches possible. this is monday night into tuesday, so we've got language ways to go, and a lot can what . we are expecting a significant snow, possibly the highest of the season. d damaging winds. any time talking coastal lows, damaging winds and possible beach errosion, the setting up e monday, continuing through tuesday, all the way into possibly early wednesday morning. some scattered snow showers wednesday morning. but the worse does look to set , tuesday morning. so here is a look at the seven day forecast, we will keep track of the system as we h into mondayment make sure to stay tuned to fox 29. we'll keep you updated if there are any changes to that forecast. temperatures upper 30's, through monday, oudy, then tues when we've got the snow, 37 degrees. but your overnight temperatures into the 20's, and that snow is pgh then wednesday, there could be possibly few scattered snow showers in the morning. then that system does wrap up. you can see it, much 32 degrees as we head into wednesday, 35 by thursday. and then the snow really is gone, we'veconditions. >> all right, quite a roller coaster, thanks, monica. coming fitness world, why people say doing yoga on a pile of salt has some big health benefits. high school graduation ceremony happening inside a hospital room. how a community came together to give a teen battling cancer the day of his dreams. phone rings "hello?" so far march has been quite the roller coaster ride. >> and the cold isn't all we're talking about, as we take live look over the ben franklin parkway. the fox 29 weather authority is tracking a winter storm. and it has all the potential of dumping some serious snow on the delaware valley, good evening everybody, i'm joyce evans. >> i'm dawn timoney. the start. week could be a real mess. but for now, we're just talking about the bitter cold. high temperature in philadelphia only reaching 32 degrees, making it the coldest day of the month. it has been a wild and wooly forecast, we talk it over to monica to find out what exact have i next, we're afraid to ask. >> i know, things are going to get worse as we head into the new work week, guys, specking snow. >> we have temperatures through the afternoon into the 30's, 34 degrees was your high today. in wilmington, and you can see, allentown topping upper 20's. here's where we stands right now, 27 degrees for those every us in atlantic city, 28 in philadelphia, 22 degrees for those of just pottstown, but it feels even colder than that. we've been dealing with a winds all day long, windchill factors 15 in philadelphia, 17 atlantic city feels more like 14 for those of us in allentown, specking temperatures over night to take a big dip. talking into the low 20's in the city, suburbs, in the teens. under mostly clear skies. with the winds from ten to 15 miles per hourment look at this, a winter storm watch already in place for the entire region. that goes through monday night into early tuesday, i've got the full forecast coming up about the snow and when it is expected to arrive in just a bit, guys. >> monica, thank you so much. remember when any storm approaches, you can always get up-to-the-minute forecast and see live ultimate doppler radar on our website fox29.com. we'll also post all of the school closings there, as well. now, to a developing story out of philadelphia tioga nicetown neighborhood. a 13 year old boy fight willing for his life after being shot in the head. now police want to talk to these two guys. they say surveillance video shows the men just having a casual conversation with the victim when then one of them pulls out a gun, puts it to the teenager's head and pulls the trigger. it all happened last night inside a chain east take out restaurant. >> the shooting has left a community stunned and they're calling for an end to the violence. fox 29's jennifer joyce has more now from the neighborhood where this all happened. >> i am done. i am done. >> debra, done with the violence, she lives across the feet from goldfish chinese restaurant on west hunting park avenue where police say a 13 year old boy was shot in the head last night while he was ordering take out food with a friends. the child was returned to temple university hospital in extremely critical condition. >> why would you shoot a 13 year old? you can walk away from a 13 year old instead of shooting him. he's a kid, he's a kid for real. >> anthony douglas said he walked by the busy police scene late last night on his way home from work. >> all night. >> inside and outside the restaurant detectives combed for clues, police say, initial information indicates that the victim and the shooter exchanged a few words. then he drew his gun and shot the 13 year old at point blank range. the child was lying on the floor, unresponsive, when police arrived. >> this is really terrible. >> he wants action. >> they should bring town watch back in the area which would be really, really great. i feel terrible to hear something like that to happen, for me to live this close. >> police tell us there is surveillance video that should help with the investigation. they're trying to piece together clues as a 13 year old is fighting for his life in the hospital. reporting from north philadelphia, i'm jennifer joyce, "fox 29 news." >> police still have not made any arrest tonight as they look for any information that you may have on those shooters. at last check that 13 year old remains in extremely critical condition. >> happening now, in philadelphia's logan neighborhood, police investigating why a man died moments after being discovered inside someone else's home. that homeowner woke up this morning to find a man just sitting on his couch in his living room. >> from there, it got violent, dawn. fox 29's brad sattin here in the studio tonight to sort it all out for us tonight. you spoke with the homeowner? >> this is hard to imagine, few things scarier in life maybe hearing a noise in the middle of the night, going downstairs to find a stranger in your house. >> nobody safe inside their own home. >> this man who ask we in the identify him came home from work just before 3:00 this morning to his home on 12th street in philadelphia's logan section. he and his wife had just fallen asleep. >> i heard some noise downstairs. my dog started barking. i come downstairs the steps and see this guy sitting in my living room. never seen this guy a day in my life. he just was there, i asked him what he was doing, he is said he was homeless. >> from there he said it escalated. i said he had to go. got into a fight. dragged him outside the house, put him on the porch and held him down noticable cops came. >> the 54 year old was unconscious so they started cpr. he was returned to einstein medical center where he died t appears he had gotten into the house through unlocked front window. a woman who asked we not identify her tells us she's the man's girlfriends and says he wasn't homeless, but they live together a block away. can you figure out at all what he would have been doing in that house? scientists battled winds up to 119 miles per hour, one brave soul decided to step outside with a flag to make this video. the observatory located about 130 miles north of boston holds the worlds records for the stronger winds speed, 230-mile per hour gusts were recorded there back in 1934. >> wow back to your fox 29 weather authority now. well, you can see a flag there. it is moving about. but not too bad. here in old city. but even bigger story is that the cold is really bitter and the impending snow that could make a mess out of the start of the work week. meteorologist, monica has a low down on the return of went near big way. >> back and forth at times settling down, but the winds have been kicking up out of the northwest, looking at 18 miles per hour, so making the temperatures into the uptore's feel more like we're at cold 15 degrees. but i want to show you your future cast. let's get right into the forecast for the rest of the weekends. you can see through the rest of the evening, and as we head into the overnight, through tomorrow morning, we're going to keep it clear. by tomorrow morning, we are looking at some nice sunshine. but we lose an hour of sleep. don't forget. it is spring ahead, start of daylight saving time, you can turn your clock if you want now, about an hour ahead. or an hour ahead because we are entering daylight saving. all right, let's take a look at your forecast for the parade for tomorrow. 9:00 a.m., this is before the parade gets going, still chilly, temperatures into the 20's, but will feel more like the teens. around the start of the parade, noontime, lunch hour, 32 degrees, by the ends, not so bad. 37 degrees. still way below average. we've got cold air settled in. but we have some nice sunshine to look forward to. now, we're going to really track the system that's headed our way. it is going to really start off in the pacific northwest, head through the midwest, into the great lakes region as we head into monday. that's one low pressure system. then we have a coastal low that we're also watching. these two will feed into each other. really strengthen as they move through the mid-atlantic region. we are expecting here along the i95 corridor some of the highest snowfall amounts from this coastal low. now, as for the exact amounts, there are some discrepancies. here's y1 track the gfs hugging more closer, the euro, little further out, now the european is saying three-6 inches of snow throughout the entire delaware valley. i think some others are favoring the american model. the american model or the gfs has a bit closer to the coastline, six to 12 inches possible for southeast pennsylvania, and parts of new jersey, the very northern parts of delaware, and then into south jersey, three to 6 inches possible. this is monday night into tuesday, so we've got language ways to go, and a lot can what . we are expecting a significant snow, possibly the highest of the season. d damaging winds. any time talking coastal lows, damaging winds and possible beach errosion, the setting up e monday, continuing through tuesday, all the way into possibly early wednesday morning. some scattered snow showers wednesday morning. but the worse does look to set , tuesday morning. so here is a look at the seven day forecast, we will keep track of the system as we h into mondayment make sure to stay tuned to fox 29. we'll keep you updated if there are any changes to that forecast. temperatures upper 30's, through monday, oudy, then tues when we've got the snow, 37 degrees. but your overnight temperatures into the 20's, and that snow is pgh then wednesday, there could be possibly few scattered snow showers in the morning. then that system does wrap up. you can see it, much 32 degrees as we head into wednesday, 35 by thursday. and then the snow really is gone, we'veconditions. >> all right, quite a roller coaster, thanks, monica. coming fitness world, why people say doing yoga on a pile of salt has some big health benefits. high school graduation ceremony happening inside a hospital room. how a community came together to give a teen battling cancer the day of his dreams. phone rings "hello?"
