Because some of the details from the victim are a bit vague, detectives here at the special victims unit are doing a full blown investigation. Any time it involves a potential Police Impersonator, they check things out very carefully. Its scary. As the 5 30 train pulled into the somerton station monday evening, and passengers headed home for the night, the last thing they wanted to hear was that a Police Impersonator may be working the area. Reporter 2 15 monday morning when a woman living in the 13,000 block of trevose told investigators she was out walking with a friend when a car pulled up and a man stepped out. Police say the man got out of unmarked vehicle and identified himself as a Police Officer. He started asking the woman questions. Saying police had gotten calls about her being out in the neighbor. Its dangerous out here enough, you know, rather than having somebody whose supposed to protect you, you know what i mean, you fear them. Reporter the man wasnt wearing a badge or carrying a gun. His car had no Police Lights and he wasnt in uniform. The woman walk away a short time later the same carrie appeared and the man again indicated he was an officer. And she had to come with him. Again, she walked away then called police. You would think they were trying to help you. You know, then turns around their em 98ing an officer. I keep walking. I keep walking. Reporter special victims unit is now investigating. People we spoke with monday night say they have their guard up. I always ask for identification from any Police Officer. Even if theyre in uniform. You know because you can never be careful enough. Youre foolish if you think youre safe anywhere today. It doesnt matter. Reporter no one was hurt in either of the two stops there was no physical contact between the man and the woman in this particular case. The only way i found it because it because i went up there and walked into a crime scene. Reporter random attack on young woman has neighbors at the Marine Club Condos stunned. Many just learning of fellow resident was beaten and robbed in their garage on South Broad Street early sunday morning. Police say a 24yearold woman was pulling into the garage when a masked man tapped on her window, wielding a rifle and attempting to rob her. The woman drove into the garage where she was then followed in a red car by the man and his female accomplice. Marine Club Management says the gunman point the arrival at an unarmed Security Guard who retreated and called police. The window was completely theres glass all over the third floor. Reporter Authorities Say the robbers followed the victim through the garage then smashed her drivers side window with the long gun hitting her before taking her cell phone. Investigator sauce the female accomplice then stole the womans purse. Nobody should have to live somewhere and get robbed like that. You want to feel safe in your own building. Reporter people who live here along with Property Management say the electronic access to the garage was broken over the weekend which may have allowed the gunman to enter behind the victim.
