look. when you're looking at usc, they're one of the most talented. we at five guys on that really we could've had six. no disrespect to arizona state, they've got the talent, the problem is there kaiser young. he's not draft eligible. there's number of players who are in a similar situation. as you go through their roster thing yeah, after next season they have a lot of guys who are eligible. and i think that, you said, there really talented, i think a lot of people would agree that they're the most talented. it's just a question of, does enough other way for them with two losses to fight back and win the division? (vo) don't change the way you play, change the way you win! learn more at palottery.com. ♪ >> live from center city in philadelphia this is fox 29 news at 10:00. police are investigating a violent home invasion in delaware county that left a man and his dog badly injured. thankfully an mazingly both are expected to recover after being shot. good evening, i'm dawn timmeney. >> i'm joyce evans. reward has now been posted for information on the person responsible. fox 29's sabina kuriakose has more now from west chester. >> reporter: animal control officer hayden carol checks on the pitbull terrier mix he rescued from botched home invasion friday night. >> he suffered a gunshot wound to the head around the eye. >> reporter: carol says somebody broke into a home on canal road in middletown township around 10:00 at night. the armed man shot the owner in the stomach to protect his pet took a bullet to the head. the alleged gunman got away. >> the individual shows recklessness to not only break into a home armed and injure a human but also to hugh you shoot a dog has no in my opinion care, no compassion. >> reporter: homeowner is recovering from his gunshot wound. >> this is where the bullet came in. >> reporter: doctors at west chester veterinary medical center had to remove faith's e eye. >> we're route rooting for her, praying for her. hoping she gets out of here within the next day or two and hoping her family is okay too. >> reporter: go monday me site has been set up to pay for the vet bills and the care she'll need to get through her new li life. her wound fresh she's traumatized but alive. >> very lucky. very lucky. that could have went straight and punctured her brain went right off to the side. she was very luck keep this could have been live ending. >> reporter: brandywine spca is offering a thousand dollar reward for information leading to the arrest of whoever shot faith. they are investigating alongside the pennsylvania state police. in west chester, sabina cure rows, fox 29 news. a final farewell for two wilmington firefighters killed in the line of duty one week ago. it pulled people together from way beyond the local community. a joint memorial service held for captain chris leach and lieutenant jerry fickes. both receiving promotions during that ceremony. >> the tribute also brought national and state leaders to wilmington to recognize the two heroes ultimate sacrifice. ♪ >> thousands of mourners from across the country gathered today at wilmington chase center on the riverfront to honor captain christopher leach and lieutenant jerry fickes. >> both these guys were heroes. >> among those expressing their gratitude vice-president joe biden with a personal thank to you all firefighters. >> men like them save the lives of my two sons when their mother and sister were killed in tractor trailer broad sided them. they spent hours jaws of life saving their lives. ♪ >> the vice-president also had an emotional message for the five children of those brave firefighters. the two heroes died early last saturday morning fighting a fire at a home on lake view road in wilmington that according to investigators turn out to be a case of arson. >> their lives, their character lives never single one of you. you guys the rest of your life you'll have a tough decision. you'll be asking for self, what would dad do? i promise you that. i promise you that. (bell tolls). >> state leaders praising the character and courage of leach and fickes. congressman john carney acknowledging delaware is hurting. >> i think of how they rushed into that house while the others were running out. i can think of no better example that i would want for my own sons and daughter than a man willing to literally give his life to face fire and likely death for complete strangers. ♪ >> prosecutors have charged 27-year-old beatrice ruiz arson, murder and other charges. the 27-year-old woman who lived in the house intentionally set the fire. a fund has been set up for the children of the two fallen firefighters. a link to that gofundme page is right there on our website fox29.com. the caribbean is bracing for impact as one of the most powerful atlantic hurricanes in recent history continues on its path north. hurricane matthew had grown into an extremely powerful rare category five storm last night before weakening just a bit. we haven't seen a storm quiet like this since hurricane felix in 2007. the storm is projected to slam into jamaica head on. the residents on that island nation say they aren't taking any chances. >> this morning we went and got some apply boards to do the windows and stuff, because i'm from the east and because of the windows we have to get plywood to button up, water, dry goods, lantern, kerosene oil, the whole works. >> the storm is expected to travel north over the next 24 hours. it's too early to predict if the storm will make direct landfall in the us or turn more out into the atlantic. and turning now to the fox 29 weather authority, it's like a case of de ja vu as we look out over th philadelphia international airport. another day of damp and dreary conditions with some areas experiencing periods of heavy rain, but the good news is, there is a little relief in site. meteorologist dave warren here with more on what sunday has in store. dave? >> just little relief here after rinse and repeat again overnight tonight, tomorrow, radar is pretty quiet but there's drizzle out there. not picked up by the radar a few light showers continuing to move through. what's responsible for this that area of rain over the great lakes. this is stubborn storm that continues to spin. however, the overall flow will start to lift this thing out of here finally throughout the day tomorrow. so we could see a little glimpse of sunshine. you're waking up to the same thing tomorrow the clouds, the fog, the drizzle we start to see things clearing up just a bit. not until two or 3:00 o'clock it will be mostly to the south. there's some sunshine could even make it as far north as philadelphia right before sunset. so we'll see little hint of sunshine here and there tomorrow. the low clouds the fog there could be patchy reduced visibles tomorrow. these are visibility look how quickly climbs and we're looking at a nice clear afternoon the clouds will start to thin out later in the afternoon and evening. tomorrow morning, 55 north and west. 62 some drizzle and fog a few showers to the south. we're into the 60s right now. but the question is, what's coming up? well we have a little bit of sunshine. we will be getting a little warmer the more sun we get the more warmer we get. also watching matthew and east coast impact of course that track from the national hurricane center updated it goes outside days i'll look at that and see what could impact the area across the southeast. that's coming up later. >> all right, thank you, dave. and don't plan your day without the fox 29 weather app. get the extended forecast and live radar right there on your phone. it's available in the apple store or google play. philadelphia police are investigating a murder in the point breeze neighborhood. officers found a 31-year-old man shot several times on the 1800 block of dickinson street. this was just after 8:30 tonig tonight. the vick testimony was pronounced dead at presbyterian hospital a short time later. if you have any information, police want to hear from you. a six-year-old little boy critically wounded in an elementary school shooting earlier this week in south carolina has died. jacob hall had been fighting for his life at a hospital after a bullet hit main artery in his leg. police say a 14-year-old killed his father on wednesday and then went to nearby townville elementary school where he shot the little boy and two others on the playground. the teacher and the other student who were hit are okay. the shooter has been charged as juvenile with murder and attem attempted murder. his charges are expected to be modified now that the little boy has died. the search continues for clues in the aftermath of that crash of the new jersey transit train in hoboken. so far federal investigators say they have not found any problems showing a malfunction of the signals at the train station. investigators have recovered one of the black boxes from the train. but they say they have not been able to get into whatever the data may be stored inside. the national transportation safety board says it's having trouble getting into the front cab of that train where a camera facing outward is mounted. that's because of so much structural damage and high levels of asbestos inside the century old station. one person was killed in the crash. more than a hundred others were hurt. route 1 in dewey beach, delaware, just reopen after trolley car flipped over. state police say that accident happened just after 4:30 this afternoon. a van was pulling a trolley filled with 22 wedding guests it suddenly swayed and overturn. 12 people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. the cause of accident is still under investigation. you decide 2016. it was another trip to the keystone state for donald trump. the gop presidential candidate held a rally this evening in lancaster county. and trump was in attack mode tonight in maneheim. >> it comes on the heels of newly leaked audio tape where hillary clinton is reportedly hurt attacking bernie sanders supportersupporters. fox's peter doocy has the story. >> reporter: donald trump shining light on newly leaked audio tape where hillary clinton can be heard apparently criticizing bernie sanders supporters as quote living in their parent's basements and trapped in dead end careers. >> new audio tape that has surfaced just yesterday from another one of hillary's high roller fundraisers shows her demeaning and mocking bernie sanders and all of his support supporters. >> boo! >> and, you know, i'll tell you something. we have a much bigger movement than bernie sanders ever had. >> clinton campaign reactioning say the remarks are being taken out of the context. meanwhile trump taking flack from the left for late night tweets attacking former miss universe. hillary clinton aligning herself with president obama today announcing her support on twitter for new rule requiring federal government contractors to provide paid sick leave to workers. clinton raised $154 million in september. this as the latest fox news poll has her four points ahead of trump in head to head matchup and three points ahead when third party candidates are factored in. poll data comes after the first presidential debate which has many calling for the trump campaign to revamp their strategy. >> if you listen to the pundants about money night hillary clinton should be 82% by now. one 10% among women and she's not. she's still well below 50 in your fox news poll. why?
