A gun battle with linden new Jersey Police led rahami and two officers wounded. The bullets started flying after bar owner discovered him sleeping in the door wave his establishment. Prosecutors tonight champed him with five counts of attempted murder of a Police Officer. He is now in jail on more than 5 million bail. Law enforcement says fingerprints and Surveillance Video helped capture rahami it all started saturday werent when explosive device went off inside a Seaside Heights trash can later that night another explosive device inside a new york city dumpster. He was moving around rather well tonight, and we spoke to him here at a fundraiser at fop headquarters. He says, hes anxious to get back to work. I guess im lucky. I guess all i can think about im lucky. Reporter wounded university of pennsylvania Police Officer ed miller arrived at fop headquarters monday night on crutches smiling and insis insisting hes fine. Just three days after he was shot in a chaotic gun battle with suspect in west philadelphia. Id like to forget but it work out to our advantage. Miller who retired from the Philadelphia Police department after 33 years on the force was shot twice as he left his patrol car to chase Nicholas Glenn and immediately came under fire from glenn as the gunman entered an alley off 48th and sansom. All i do i hope i made my brothers and sisters proud out there doing the job that i was trained to do. Hired him two years ago, and knew he was a pro, and he did fabulous job that night. Reporter miller recounted how he felt when his wife and two children arrived at the hospital. I was happy to see them. Very happy. 56yearold miller was shot in the hip and ankle. He left the hospital sunday morning. Came to fop headquarters monday night for Tailgate Party that helped raise funds for miller and wounded sergeant sylvia young who was ambushed by glenn in her patrol car. Glenn fired 18 shots into her car. Youngs vest stopped five shots. Three struck her arm and side. She remains hospitalized. Ask about her as soon as i got in the hospital. I went to see her before i left. I wish her the best, and she definitely dealt with more than i had to deal with.
