this assault happened late wednesday night. tonight we found several women out walking but being more careful after they learned what happened. >> really creepy. >> people walking along ron avenue near winchester are a little uneasy. after hearing a man sexually assault add woman in a wooded area late wednesday night. >> this used to be a walk that you could do a it loan but probably in the past five years i would never ever go alone. you always have to go with somebody. which is sad. >> reporter: meghan meyer and robin richie out walking the dog near pennypack park when they heard what happened. this is a sketch of the man police say walked up behind the 22-year-old victim. covered her mouth and dragged her into the woods. police say he then put duct tape over the victim's mouth, bound her wrists and ankles, then physically and sexually assaulterred her. >> you wouldn't think in this area, too, because where the woods are here, there's a drop off. it's not like he could just kind of hide behind a tree like there's areas where he'd actually have to climb up a hill. >> reporter: another woman out walking tonight didn't want to show her face but says she is concerned. >> 11:30 at night. oh, wow. because i know there is people that, like, run around 9:00 o'clock, 10:00 o'clock and i would never do that. >> here's another look at the sketch of the suspect. police are urging women to be aware while walking in the area. >> you know i walk the park all the time. i always do it with a dog, with mace, with another person. >> reporter: and back here live, you saw the sketch. what it doesn't show is that police say the suspect has a tattoo of a heart with tribal symbols around it that tattoo is on his chest. dawn? >> shawnette, thank you. a philadelphia police officer is sent to the hospital after he's struck by a car. authorities say that officer was on bike patrol when he was hit along the 3900 block of whitaker avenue. skyfox over that scene just after the officer was taken to temple university hospital. police tell us he should be okay. preliminary reports say the driver of the car did stop at the scene. a 38-year-old man is shot in the head tonight in brewery town. skyfox over the scene at 29th and flores streets just after sick clog. police say the victim is in serious condition. the search is on tonight for the shooter. >> you decide 2016 a wild seen tonight at a planned donald trump rally. the situation getting so chaotic in chicago tonight, that trump postponed the event. >> it was all over security concerns inside the a rona. take look. things got very violent tonight inside the rally on campus the university of illinois. things got so out of hand between trump supporters and protesters the event was postponed shut down and everyone was told to clear out. police he is cored several people away once outside some people even blocked traffic on a busy highway. we do not know yet if anyone was arrested or if anyone was injured. well, we are continuing to enjoy above average temperatures for the beginning of march. last few days feeling a lot like beach weather. let's take live look down the shore to sea isle upcoming weekend it looks like we'll keep above average temperatures. live look outside our studios right now along market street, 56 degrees. that's above the average high for this time of year which is 51, and winds are out of the north around 8 miles per hour. we have 49 in dover. 53 degrees currently in wilmington. upper 40s in pottstown. a chilly 38 degrees right now in the pocono mountains. so mostly clear skies for tonight. it's chilly. 37 degrees in the suburbs. 42 degrees in the city. we saw a little bit of rain early this morning. so dry conditions for now. but our next rain chance off to the west. they've seen devastating floo flooding toward sections along louisiana as well as mississippi and the gulf coast, but what to expect for us, we're looking at clear and chilly conditions overnight, looks like a mild weekend. we'll talk about the spring forward forecast and once again tracking that rain, the second half of the weekend into monday. also, we have new information about what to expect sunday for the st. patrick's day parade. we'll have that coming up. back to you. >> all right, thanks scott. new jersey transit rail commuters won't have to worry about how they'll get to work on monday. a strike has been averted. the union representing rail workers say they've reached attentive agreement with new jersey transit avoiding a strike that could have affected more than a hundred thousand riders. governor chris christie says the agreement should shot result in fair hike or service cuts. what started out as a kidnapping investigation turns into something much different. this is the bus at the center of many questions tonight. police say a driver cut off the septa bus and smashed a window. a woman riding on the bus, jumped off and witnesses say that driver of the car hit her and then forced her into the vehicle. that woman wasn't missing long, though. fox 29's bruce gordon has the bizarre details. >> reporter: hours after the incident, septa bus riders along the southbound boulevard were still shaking their heads. >> a lot of crazy people on this route and everything, you know. >> reporter: you never know what's going happen. >> you don't. >> something happen like this to this poor. >> reporter: police spent the predawn hours combing this septa bus for clues. trying to sort out the mystery of what happened and why. they say a 22-year-old philadelphia woman was a board the southbound route around 2:00 a.m. when the bus driver noticed he was being followed. around the 4600 block of the boulevard, a man got out, yelled something at the woman and punched the side window shattering the glass. the bus driver took off. police lieutenant dennis rosenbaum. >> the girl makes comments this guy is crazy. so obviously she knew who he was. >> reporter: just few blocks south at a regular bus stop, the man in the car was again ready to pounce. >> he cuts the bus off. stops direct until front of him and there's a bus stop there. there's people ready to get on the bus and the girl demanded to get off the bus. so that's when she gets off the bus and she's assaulted and she was forcibly put into the car. >> reporter: police viewed the incident as an abduction. they dusted the bus for fingerprints and recovered security camera footage. but around 8:30 a.m., the woman appeared out of nowhere at northeast detectives to say she had neither been assaulted nor abducted. she refused to answer any further questions and several hours later, was taken to her mother's home by a detective. she's telling the bus driver that this guy is crazy but she willingly gets off the bus knowing what she could be in for in terms of an altercation or at least an interaction with this guy? >> yes. >> reporter: what do you make of that? >> i don't understand it. she could have stayed on the bus. >> reporter: attacker described as black man in his mid 20 20s, thin build, clean shaven driving a pontiac bonneville with delaware temporary plates. he could be charged with assault in this case but without cooperation from the alleged victim it's not clear what kind of case could be made. in lawn crest, bruce gordon fox 29 news. and now to a story you'll see only on fox 29. a 10-year-old little bill facing charges for taking a beebee gun to school to an elementary school. the child showed classmates the gun in the lunch room at william cramp elementary yesterday and then according to school officials he started shooting. we're told three students in fact were hit. they suffered cuts and bruises. the mother of one of the children talked only to fox 29. she asked though we not show her face. >> i'm asking that parents, we can all come together and push for more security, more school police in these schools so that our children are safe. because when we send our children out into these institutions for education, we expect that our children are going to be safe. >> the school district says the 10-year-old was arrested and charged with simple assault and weapons offenses. a sickening case of animal cruelty is prompted a $5,000 reward to find the person who left a puppy to die in montgomery county. female pitbull was found inside this crate in willow grove on wednesday. the metal crate was wrapped in mass tick and sealed with duct tape. the crate was sitting near welsh road and blair mill roads. investigators say the dog was severely under weight and died from suffocation. peta is offering reward for information that leads to an arrest. jenkintown police need your help in finding this guy. he not only stole from the cash register, he stole the whole thing right off the counter of a chinese restaurant. it happened yesterday afternoon. authorities say an employee at china king restaurant on york road fell asleep and when he woke up the register was gone. if you recognize the man from the surveillance pictures, please call jenkintown police. skyfox over a schoolbus accident this afternoon in hammonton, new jersey. this is at route 30 and fairview avenue. we're told fortunately there were no students on the bus when it crashed. now the bus driver was injured and was taken by state police helicopter to a nearby hospital. no word yet on what caused that accident. amazingly no one hurt after this mini van crashes right into the front of a west philadelphia home. take look. this happened about 4:30 this afternoon near intersection of 45th street and why a luzyk avenue. no word yet from authorities op how no driver may have lot of control. former first lady nan so reagan being talked to this young man and his very proud family to night. >> i got called down to my principal's office. >> reporter: did you think you were in trouble. >> yeah. i didn't know what was wrong. i was pretty scared. >> it was highly improbable that senior jon josh kushner would be in trouble. in fact it was quite the opposite. >> to get a perfect score on the ap exam is a phenomenal feat. over 300,000 students take the ap exam for calculus ap every year in the entire world and we found out that 12, just 12 in the whole world got perfect score. >> reporter: true enough john answered every single one of the highly sophisticated calculus questions and he got everyone right. >> it's like pretty overwhelming and unexpected and pretty cool. >> he learns the one time. he never asks for help. i really don't think we've had many tutoring sessions at all. >> reporter: john's father could have helped. he's a math teacher. >> do you think you can score perfectly on that? >> i don't think i can honestly. i don't think i can do it under the time constraints that he had. >> reporter: john is a gifted student runs cross country and has talent beyond his 17 years. he interned for the navy last summer. >> a lot of my spare time i did computer science like software development, software engineering. >> reporter: john and his family just learned about the super academic achievement after he sent in his college applications. so he e-mailed them with his news. >> the entire ridley community, ridley high school and everybody in the area is so proud of john. we're excited for him. >> reporter: because john has taken so many ap courses, he already has some 20 college credits. by the way drexel is one of nine universities where he has applied and his principle says any of the elite attack on a young girl at a high school. according to police report, the mom and several teen students ended the arlington high school gym and began punching, stomping kicking another student. police say at least 20 people were involve in the fight. six teens and mother were arrested. that mother is denying she had anything to do with that incident. >> they had each other's hair and they were punching each other. so i did not touch that girl at all. not one time. >> she's facing several charges including resisting arrest and criminal trespass. >> scientists figure out a way to avoid the zika virus. how? head to higher elevations. mosquitoes caring the virus aren't found there. doctors say that travelers whose itineraries are limb to do areas above 6500 feet are at a minimal risk of getting the virus from a mosquito. cdc now has elevation maps available to travelers to help them determine if their destinations are enough above sea level. the cdc noting all those zika associated mosquitoes are likely not found at higher elevations they are not the only way vehicle is today are spread. sexual transmission is also possible. police are vet gating the dog whisperer caesar milan for of all things animal cruelty. officers visited milan's animal training facility in santa clarita, california. the investigation stems from a recent episode of milan's show caesar 911. in it, a life pig was used in a training session with a dog who recently attacked two other pet positions. well the dog bit the pig's ear drawing blood. nat geo wild which broadcast the show says the segment out and about on this friday night enjoying this milder weather. let's check in with chief meteorologist scott williams to find out how it is looking for the big parade. pressure definitely on, scott williams. >> yeah, i know, right. hopefully we'll get lucky it does look like we'll have mostly cloudy skies out there and a slight chance of some showers will break that forecast down hour by hour coming up. but right now, live look at the philadelphia international airport. no weather worries. it is getting a little cooler after a high temperature of 69 degrees. well above the normal for this time of year which is 51. but not quiet the record high set back in 1977 of 72 degrees. we have 30s showing up on the map in the pocono mountains already. 46 degrees currently in allentown. we have 48 in pottstown. low 50s in wilmington. 44 degrees right now in millville but even colder as we move a little farther to the north into parts of burlington, vermont. 30 degrees. upper 20s in syracuse, new york. we saw a little bit of showers first thing this morning but dry and quiet conditions for much of the weekend, however, we will be watching some of this moisture try and move in our direction. it's caused a lot of devastating flooding through sections of louisiana as well as mississippi as we look at ultimate doppler with the radar estimates, some locations just north of new orleans have picked up up to 2 feet of rainfall. so devastating flooding here. as we take look at our chances for rain over the next several days, it's dry for tomorrow. we'll have chilly start but mild temperatures. then sunday about a 30% chance for some showers. some of that activity could move in during the parade at least the second half of it and then a better chance 70% as we move toward early next week. so as we time everything out, dry, quiet for your weekend. by 10:00 o'clock, though, we're looking at mostly cloudy skies, we'll keep the cloud cover around for sunday morning. you can see by 8:00 o'clock dry, quiet but once again watching for a chance of some moisture moving up from the south. here's noon the start of the parade. we're still cloudy. but dry but watching some activity to the south and look at 1:00 o'clock. we're looking at some of it move into sections of northern delaware. south jersey. trying to move toward the philadelphia area here's 3:00 o'clock as we move toward sunday so just be on the look out for that. otherwise, the best chance for widespread rain is by monday morning's rush so we'll be watching and fine tuning that forecast. so temperatures tonight chilly. then 66 degrees for the high temperature tomorrow. but that parade break down as we go hour by hour, 57 degrees by 11:00 o'clock. upper 50s in the afternoon and once again a couple of spotty showers but better chances toward the end of the parade. the seven day forecast shows that we need to talk about springing forward saturday night into sunday. a little cool per on monday and look at those temperatures climbing back into the upper 60s as we head into next week and st. patrick's day weather looking pretty good as well. don't forget to change those batteries, too in your single engine cessna experienced some kind of emergency on board. had to make a sudden emergency landing at the suck ken meadows state park just before noon today. no reports of injuries. the faa is agent that can irritate the skin. now the company promised would it never use the ingredient. honest denies the report but says its detergent contains ingredient claims is gentler alternative. honest
