Police tell us a husband and wife are dead in what theyre calling a murder suicide in fact investigators tell us they are still on the scene and in the process of notifying Family Members here at the house. Lets go to some video right now. Both victims were in their mid 60s and shot in the head according to a neighbor who told fox 29 off camera that he saw the shooting aftermath with the Family Member of one of the victims going into the house. The two were found in their master bedroom. The woman in the bed. Her husband lying on the floor again both shot in the head and one neighbor said off camera the deceased owned a july row store on jewelers row in center city philadelphia. We were told by that neighbor that the couple was supposed to travel downtown to center city to fix a plumbing issue at that store as well as visit the husbands mother on this her 93rd birthday. Were toll that the family new something was wrong when the couple could not be reached for that trip. And that was when the discovery woo was made. Police are still in the process of notifying Family Members here at the house trying to be respectful here and keep our distance. In the meantime neighbors say that they have had no indication of any trouble with the family. The family leaves behind two grown kids and several grandchildren. And, um, they was taking it too far. When i was watching tv in the barbershop i heard gunshots. Reporter police say the man pulled out a gun and opened fire at the barber with eight to 10 people inside including children. No one was hit. But talk about timing. At that moment, a customer who was carrying a gun legally just happened to walk in. Off the her inside the barbershop legal permit to carry responded and shot this guy who was trying to shoot somebody inside. Reporter that customer fired a shot and hit the gunman a 4084 old man in the chest. He died at the hospital. Could have been lot worse if it wasnt for this guy who responded and basically saved a lot of people in there. Reporter that man left the barbershop and turned himself in a few blocks away at the 16th Police District it does appear hell face charges. This woman lives next door to the barbershop. I take my hat off to him. Thankfully he was there because it could have been a lot worse a lot more people dead. Good thing he was there.
