scene, 100 block of elwyn road in media. this fire broke out at the elwyn development center, at about 9:30 last night. dozens every people, mostly staff, were forced to evacuate. one person died, two others injured, no word on what sparked it. and in chester county, a long time member of the westwood fire company has been arrested for embezzlement. fifty-seven year old howard smith, charged with stealing more than $300,000 from westwood. he was the treasurer from 2007 through 2012. prosecutors say that he used the westwood fire company credit cards to go on extravagant vacations cents. he forged signatures, on more than 100 checks, stole from the firehouse safe, and even manipulated bingo records to steel from fundraisers. >> 5:04 the time. now to this growing crisis really of confidence here in the u.s. about ebola. another man was rushed to the texas hospital with ebola-like symptoms. thomas duncan seen here died yesterday morning while receiving treatment in texas. hills body's news going to be cremated. dozens of people who came in contact with duncan will now be monitored for full 21 days. yesterday, a dallas sheriff's deputy who went into an apartment where duncan stayed was taken to the hospital. he's being tested for the virus, but doctors say, histories being is minimal. fox 29's lauren johnson live now at cooper hospital in camden, with how they're trying conference tipped off in philadelphia, doctors from across the country are there trying to put their heads together about public health challenges. one of those being ' bowl a here across the bridge in camden, at cooper hospital, ems director ring hong says news of the first case of ebola diagnosed on american soil hits close to home for all of us. he says, there is fear involved, but he has to trust the system here, cooper hospital is advising two dozen other agencies in jersey on how to best prepare for ebola patient. he says if a person is expected of having ebola comes into the hospital here, they are immediately place in the isolation. ems crews are also on high alert, in case they are transporting an infected patient. overall, though, hong says not doing much too different here. he says, medical professionals should just be reviewing the policies and procedures, he says, education and awareness are most important right now, and make sure they're asking the right questions about travel history. again, he says, doctors are having the hardest time right now at this, because the symptoms are very similar to flu. chris, kerry? >> yes, especially as we head into flu season, that's rush elementary school will be taught gun defense and strategies. these classes in response to events that have occurred in schools across the country in recent years. those school violence incidents have a california school district beaching up security. officials are arming its police officers with ar15 rifles. they say that these weapons can provide an additional margin of safety for students in the event after incident like we've seen at virginia tech, or sandy hook. some parents, say, they don't believe more guns are, in fact, the solution. 5:06. the jury this morning in the case, that
