in jacksonville governor rick scott will hold a round table discussion on the zika virus. it comes at number of local cases continues to rise. as of friday afternoon there are 16 local zika cases in florida. al aerial spraying of this area continued over the weekend. the larvacide spray meant to kill mosquito larvae in an effort to try to control the mosquito population that could potentially spread virus. governor scott says mosquito control crews in miami-dade county have been effective so far. but he's still asking the cdc to do more. >> tested over 20,000 mosquito now in our state. with zika. and another big concern from zika, is tourism. florida biggest industry visitor spen about $89 million this time last year. >> then there's new push for more ekz funding from congress new york senator chuck schumer he wants law make tore a come back early from seven week recess to pass new zika funding bill schumer thinks auto new york standing water could a big draw for other lawmaker new zika bill could cost almost $2 billion. you know we tate hawaii toyota say but there are some people out there who are looking to cash in on our fears of zika. our consumer reporter sorboni banerjee joins us to talk more about that. you know, inif you are rates me. like when their a hurricane they do and then they do it this way too. so, the federal trade commission has already issued a warning they sent out ten letters to different companies who are that they need to make sure that what their promising is the case and can backed up with testing. because there are companies out tlt that essentially are taking advantage of or unintentionally misleading the consumers saying that their products can stop the type of mosquito that carries of the zika virus. yeah i'm going to, i haven't even seen any of this yet. are they spray-on products primarily what they are talking about stickers and a patches. but also for how long. the ftc says hey this might help a little bit fury saying it will protect someone all day long you also need tests to back that up as well. for those who may be into this for not a good reason, i guess the reason is to make a quick buck, right? >> yeah. you know for the wrong reasons a quick buck. for even, even right reasons commercially they are trying to sell their product. they just might not realize if you were going to tie yourself as zika, you have to have at tests to back it up for that particular mosquito. incredibly, you know that one is, it hides in darker places. it bites during the day. so, you want to be it i believe have the tests that say that yes, it protects against that what should people look out for how do you know this may not be something you want to get involved in? this interesting thing ftc isn't releasing companies they have written to they've given though companies those marketers 48 hours to get back to us and to get back to them. let tm measures to correct problem or fix their advertising. really it's on the consumer right now to kind of take look and say okay, this seems like it's not necessarily going to do everything it promise. there's number pretty easy to remember wunt 877-ftc help if you feel like you bought a product that was maybe a little bit misleezing the sad part a lot of people that very worried about this right now. of course, especially, you know if anyone is pregnant, that's huge concern. >> yes. so you're looking for things that might not involved a spray that you don't want to put on your skin like a wrist band like a sticker. so be careful and make sure they have the testing to back it up. make a phone call ask them what can you show me. good advice. thanks. it was big night for united states at the olympics. we're going to stay with me. just stay right
