Were learning that a driver actually lost control of their vehicle in this area and overturned in the median. Delays at this point are lightning because volumes are lightning on the roadways. But drivers should plan for delays of up to 10 minutes in the area and once the lanes start to thin out with the congestion were seeing well let you know. His dad took him for the first time in 1967. And he fell in love. Two flying hand grenades and a run for a checkered flag. He was there in the 70s. He got hold of a pass to the garage area, paradise. Richard petty and i were standing over the car, thinking what do we want to do here . Do we need to do this. Memories of great finishes. The legendary crash in 1979 followed by a fistfight. Again, that was something that kind of like confirmed to me, like, this is the real deal here. Theres having a knockdown, drag out brawl on the infield. Hes seen daytona during six decades. Who better to help than a veteran who has been there, a veteran who knows. Theres a very cool project thats just getting off the ground and here to talk about it, we have eric hall and carrie lora kliff. Its a 90 day mission that weve kind of started to help veterans that are coming back, maybe from the war and having maybe a little hard time transitioning back into civilian life. Hopefully not just for the veteran, but hopefully the whole family involved thats maybe having problems with that portion of their life. And youre a veteran yourself. I am. You said you had a little bit of a tough time transitioning back. I dont want to compare, but its a completely different war right now. I spent four years in the military and i got to the point where i felt like i wanted to do more. Instead of just serve my country. I think theres other ways to do that, even being out the military and hoping i can do that. You started this nonprofit which basically in effect, the best wake i can figure it is that its a total life makeover. Complete with health and nutrition. Financial advice, which is where you come in, carrie, this is a total life makeover. Youre offering help for a lot of different things. Yes. Talk about that just a little bit. Not only is there the metal therapy, those kinds of thing they need, but financial help as well. Yeah. We want to provide all the tools for people. So and for their family as well. So im going to sit down with the person and do an initial consultation and then do a checkin and then at the very end do another checkin and give them kind of a whether or not they take the advice is up to them, but i want to provide the tools and the opportunity. And then we have a dietician up soldiers. Shell be checking with them over skype or facetime. You havent helped a veteran yet. Just to be clear. Youre looking for a veteran to help. Youre looking for applicants. Youre looking for nominations. So other people have nominated a potential veteran, right . Yeah. So i know its something thats kind of hard for a veteran to sit there and want to say i do need help, so its its going to be something that the family becomes involved with. Yeah. Maybe they kind of want to push them in the direction of maybe this would be something thats good for them. And all of these people have offered their help for free. This is a nonprofit. Theres no cost of being involved. Its one veteran at a time, so hopefully it doesnt end here. But theres occupational therapy, sometimes for the social skills that they lack. Sounds like theres resume and we want to set them up with the tools to where they theyre the ones responsible for the outcome of it. We want to provide everything that we can for them to kind of set them up for success. Its 90 days, right . You have 90 days to turn them around to get them into shape, right . Sure.
