we begin this morning with county. one person is dead and a polk county deputy has very serious injuries. >> sorbani: this happened after midnight and it appears the deputy was trying to help a driver when they were both hit by another car. it happened on state road 60 between tiger lake and sam keene roads in lake wales. according to the sheriff's office, deputy adam pinel stopped his car to help a woman who hit a tree. he had his emergency lights on and called for an ambulance when deputies say another them both. that car took off. deputy pinel has a broken pelvis and other broken bones the person he was helping has died. her jame is ses ca otero and she is from tampa. polk deputies don't have much informing about the -- don't have much information about the car that did this but do believe there is front end damage. we have a crew to the scene and we will continue to follow this story throughout "good day." authorities arrested a the sheriff's office said deondre davis started talking to a 16-year-old on social media last week. on thursday, davis drove the girl to an off-campus location on the bus. that is when the 24-year-old had sex with that student. it was reported to the school yesterday. officials say davis admitted to having sex with that student. he is now charged with unlawful sexual activity with a minor. also new this morning, manatee county deputies are searching for an escaped in inmate. officials say was last seen just before 7:30 last night at the bridges of american prison facility on 63rd avenue east in bradenton and holmes had been serving time there since may on burglary and drug charges. the 39-year-old was last seen wearing a pink polo and blue jeans. also developing this morning, police are searching for the driver who hit and called motorcycle nis ruskin. the crash happened around 3:30 yesterday afternoon at 19th avenue and 30th street. street. zack marcano's sister believes it had to do with a friend being abused. marcano got on his motorcycle to try to drive off but the driver of the blue pickup truck followed him. ten minutes after, the driver hit him and knocked time in a van. >> he got hit from the back, across the road and he got hit again. >> alcides: deputies are still searching for that blue pickup truck. unfortunately, not much information to go on. no make or model. anyone with inf sheriff's office. the search is on for a home invasion suspect in citrus county. this is dustin spangler. deputies haven't been given many details about the case but did issue a warrant for this man's arrest yesterday. spangler is 5'8"with brown hair and brown eyes. the home invasion took place two weeks ago. he may have been in the area beverly hills or hernando in citrus county. if you see him, call 911. a grieving community came together to remember a brother wreck. the group held a moment of silence before last night's high school football game to remember george m. mileni lara. they were killed while driving to school yesterday morning when their suv was hit with a pickup truck. loved ones and classmates are dealing with the shock of what happened. >> they just lost two very good people that cared about the school and their education. and they are going to be missed. they had a big impact on everybody. deputies do not think that speeding played a role in this crash. it and george pulled out and did not see the oncoming car. three men in that white truck are in the hospital but should recover. a mother of three whose life was violently cut short and tampa police have named a suspect in her murder. police believe that vovan huggins killed latoya smith. detectives say he is the last person to have known to see her alive. smith was found in the middle of west flora street. injury. about three weeks after hurricane matthew, battered florida's east coast, some cities along the shoreline are still picking up that huge mess. flagler beach is one of those cities. people there are still living with damaged homes and debris all over their yards. insurance adjusters have been busy since matthew hit that area. people living there say the most difficult part is trying to find a handyman. hurricane season especially after matthew. since matthew, we have seen a lot of wind shear in the four hurricanes, three major. what is average and normal, we are in that range. we have seen a lot of named storms and hopefully not many more throughout the next month or so. by the time we get into november, we have the cold cold fronts that keep that wind shear elevated so a weak area of low pressure in the western caribbean that we are watching. not going to develop thanks to that wind shear. kind of broad in nature and 0% chance it will develop the next want to alert you we are still keeping a close eye on the tropics. closer to home. really nice start to the day, really high clouds and a little bit of a breeze. you saw that net cam wobbling. 71. so maybe some of you will like it husband yesterday has died. investigators say it was part sheriff's office after finding the elderly couple in their tar pan springs. robert camp shot his wife, edith and then shot himself. she was taken to the hospital in critical condition but then she passed away. a suicide note was found in the house. a woman spent her birthday behind bars when police say she sexually exploited a young girl for money. seymour turned 33 yesterday. and she gave a 14-ye-o hotel room and in return the girl agreed to prostitution. posted provocative pictures and then got half of the money the men paid her to have sex. investigation is ongoing. in the fight whether red-light cameras legal, cameras one, city of oldsmar, 0. the florida appeals court sided with the technology ruling that the camera program in oldsmar is not illegal. this follows a similar ruling back in july in the city of ventura, but the issue could supreme court. opponents say the cameras are illegal because the operating company is a held up a store just before 10. he implied he had a gun before running away. asked to call police. police are searching for an injured man this morning after they say they ran himself over in castle berry. the man was leaving a strip club early tuesday morning when less than a block away, apparently he fell out of his truck. the 2016 ford pickup truck ran over the man's leg and kept rolling and crashed into a house. a 58-year-old woman was inside that car -- was inside the home suffered minor injuries. by the time police actually got there, the man was actually there, and so was his license. time right now 7:36. more than a dozen people are hurt when a plane caught on fire at chicago o'hare airport. the plane burst into flames after takeoff. passengers heard a loud bang and saw that. the air traffic control reported an engine fire. some passengers suffered minor injuries from evacuating down the slides but the good thing okay. as you can imagine, the fire is under investigation. and we are also seeing a new video of another plane fire. this one right here in florida. this is a fed ex cargo plane at ft. lauderdale hollywood airport. aviation officials say the plane's landing gear collapsed shortly after landing. it started the fire you just saw a little while ago. it was put out within minutes though. both pilots escaped unharmed. the national transportation fire as well. a proposed plan for a transit bus connecting downtown st. pete near central avenue to the city of st. pete beach looks to be great for the area, but there is a hang-up. the proposed route has a lot of support from st. pete and the pinellas suncoast transit authority and an icy reception from the city of st. pete beach. the city won't comment whether they are for or against the program. they would have to niche about $700,000 to make it happen. the shuttle bus will bring a 10% properties along that route. the transit authority say they are prepared to take the proposal to other beach communities if st. pete beach rejects it. a haines city police officer had an unique violater to ticket. apparently it was himself. last month, officer tim glover says he didn't notice a light had
