20% near the coast and 30% inland. on the radar this morning whi none to show you yet. good news for the boaters this morning. by late morning midday, a few slow-moving coastal storms. those build inland to a 30% rain chance east of i-75. 91 today and 92 tomorrow as we hold rain chances back. by mid-week the moisture values go up and we could have a couple of areas of concern in the tropics. we talk about three areas i'm watching well out there in the atlantic. so a lot of time to watch in >> anjuli: new this morning, the hillsborough county's sheriff's office is working on a shooting investigation. they're still piecing together what happened. here's what we know now. deputies say a person knocked on a homeowner's door at the 1200 block of english court after someone was shot. he was rushed to the hospital and his condition is nonlife-threatening. we continue to follow the story. >> alcides: a 70-year-old man is under arrest this morning county deputy askar around 10:00 last night. the deputy was stopped with a car behind hid and that's when alfred jiminez head the car and pushed it into the cruiser. the deputy wasn't injured and the two people in the stopped car were treated for minor injuries and was arrested for dui. >> anjuli: a death investigation in sarasota county. they found a dead body in a wooded area at colonial drive identity of the man. neighbors say it's an area where homeless people are known to camp out. >> anjuli: this is a look inside a local mosque where a fire has been ruled arson. smoke damage led to ruined carpets, rotting drywall, essentially everything inside the mosque has to be august 5t wher their to pray. worshippers said they could smell gasoline and they thought they heard activity behind the building. lab results now show signs that gasoline may have been poured on the ac unit. even with limited space, leaders say worship will continue and the mosque isn't going anywhere. >> wlaefr it takes. one dollar at a time we'll get it back together. its not for me, her, or him. this will be taken care of one way or another. it will be back together for anybody and everybody to come and pray. >> alcides: tampa police aren't but crimestoppers of tampa bay is offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. >> anjuli: as the flood crisis in louisiana continues, animal shelters are becoming overcrowded with lost, abandoned and surrendered petts. this week the humane society of tampa bay helped out. they took in 18 dogs and puppies from a louisiana shelter. yesterday, those pups went up for adoption, and boy, were they popular. nearly every single one of the single day. >> what's so great about the tampa bay public here. lots of animal lovers and they really responded to this story. you feel bad for people. no one wants to give up their pet, but if your home is destroyed and you don't have a place to go, sometimes that's what happens. i'm glad we were able to fit them in. >> anjuli: there's still a few remaining dogs from louisiana who did not get adopted yesterday. the humane society of tampa bay both hillary clinton and donald trump hit the campaign trail in an attempt to woo voters. >> alcides: peter deucy has the latest on the race for the white house. >> reporter: the presidential candidates ramp up efforts to court voters. earlier in the day donald trump met with the national hispanic advisory council. mr. trump spoke to voters on saturday night in virginia. >> hillary clinton is a throwback from yesterday. our campaign is about new american future. i'm going to do what's right for you. >> reporter: democratic presidential nominee hillary clinton is attending fund-raisers in the vacation hotspots of nantucket and martha ice vineyard. according to the latest opinion poll, clinton leads republican presidential nominee donald trump by 8 percentage points among liangly voters. clinton was supported by 42% of americans expected to vote compared to 34% for trump. since her convention with women in particular, and she's trying to strengthen herself with blue collar voters that she doesn't have right now. >> reporter: the trump campaign is turning towards more headlines this half hour. >> anjuli: good morning. a quick check on the headlines. a st. pete woman is facing charges after police say she crashed her car into a prisoner transport van. officers were loading people into the van early saturday morning when they say 30-year-old emily spice sideswiped one officer. she's accused of hitting the transport van as other officers jumped out of the way. as she was taken into custody, her car reportedly rolled over an officer's foot. thankfully everybody is expected to be okay. palm beach county deep tees say an argument led to amachete attack in lake worth, and the search is on to watch the system. the victim was hit in the arm friday afternoon. the teenage victim was rushed to a local hospital, but the extent of injuries aren't being released at this time. we're learning new die tails into the bizarre doue murder that gripped the nation. office says 19-year-old austin harrouff told them monday night to test him, they wouldn't find drugs. harrouff is accusedle killing john stevens and his wiech michelle as they sat in nir garage. harrouff is in critical condition under heavy surve surve surveillance. >> lindsay: if you're just waking wind. that light west wind, though, pushes storms inland. with drier air aloft, satellite picture and radar picture are quiet this morning. we hold the rain chances to 20% today, and no rain yet. i have a sprinkle near cedar key. we will watch one or two of them. by 5:00 p.m. the 20% rain chance you get under a slow-moving downpour. highs today near about 91. >> anjuli: more problems for frontier xhuk communications. >> alcides: a big outage for the tampa bay area. kellie, a lot of people are unhappy. >> reporter: we've heard from them all morning long. this is something we've heard before. i wa t this was a map created by a third-party company. this is downdetector.com. this is a massive outage, a big yellow blob over the entire bay area, even down to sarasota. so pretty much you're entire viewing area noticing outages mainly internet this morning. we're looking at 84% of these reported problems are internet outages. some tv, about 9%, and then at 6%. these are outages reported throughout the country as well. tampa, orlando, dallas, seattle, l.a. so it's not just contained to the bay area. we've reached out to frontier communications, have nots received any kind of comments so far. so far their only personal social media outlets have been quiet as far as outages go. not a lot of answers just yet. we're noticing problems, and i'm sure some customers watching in at home may be noticing those if you are, we'd love to hear from you. for now, we're live in tampa. back to you guys. >> alcides: i have frontier, and my internet haven't been working for the past your frontier service, there are cancellation fees. that's another thing to factor in. they can be as high as $200. >> alcides: some people are willing to pay it not to deal with that headache. thanks so much. talk to you soon. a scary situation for a family trying to enjoy a day on the water. the family of four was out on when it crashes. police say four officers jumped in and began rescuing the family and were helped by civilians who were already in the water. the adults and one infant were found, but a 23-month-old girl was still missing. an hour after that girl was found trapped underneath the overturned boat. they say she stays afloat in a small pocket of aair. recovery. >> anjuli: a family in south florida breathing a big sigh of relief after a 2-year-old girl taken in a stolen car is found safe in miami gardens on friday night. someone stole a 2009 yellow mitsubishi eclipse outside of a family dollar. inside the car, a 2-year-old little girl and a small dog. police issued a report for the car. the toddler and dog were found safe in the car at a nearby trailer park three hours later. car alone for seven seconds when it all happened. >> alcides: a miami-dade police k-9 reported missing in homestead has been found safe. theyot numerous phone calls about people spotting mickey. he was reunited and placed in the back of a miami-dade police cruiser. he escaped his home earlier animal control officer has been charged with intern naturing a lauchlt officer. they say 21-year-old austin thompson used his badge to get into a high school football game saying he was an under cover first time he has used his badge to get out of actually paying for something. detectives say thompson admitted to doing the whole thing. they found a loaded gun in the front seat of the car also. a very special honor flight in pasco county. operation patriot and honor flight west-central florida brought the experience directly to veterans who can't fly. they transformed lopez state veterans nursing home in l capital. there was patriotic music and bomber girls out there and some videos and speakers and speakers and all the sights and sounds of a trip to washington, d.c. this was the first
