"amendment four is getting support from both environmental and business groups., but in november new battlelines will be drawn for a different solar amendment. " right after the august election these activists plan to work against november's amendment one. it would put in the state constitution the right to own or lease solar ..and ensure that people who don't install solar aren't required to subsidize back up power for those who do. opponents say it would just constitutionalize the current law. ((walter also in the top stories: a strong earthquake has killed 21 people in italy... and heavily damaged several towns. buildings collapsed, and roads crumbled... when the earthquake struck tuesday. aftershocks have only made things worse. this morning, crews are sifting through the rubble, searching for survivors. patrol troopers are investigating a deadly crash in clearwater. a man tried to cross roosevelt boulevard at morgan street last night... and didn't make it. he walked right into the path of an oncoming car. he died at the scene. troopers say: he was ?not in a crosswalk, and no charges have been filed. but neighbors say: there ?should be a crosswalk, because that stretch of road is ?known for deadly crashes. ((walter a tampa bay animals rescue is taking on dogs from louisianna. shelters have become room.... ears animal rescue sanctuary in englewood took in 20 dogs. last week... the humane society of tampa bay took in 14 dogs. they went up for adoption saturday... and nearly all of the dogs were adopted that day. we'll let you know when these pups are ready for new homes. for now... the shelter needs volunteers, supplies, and donations.
