a fire grew to three alarms overnight... destroying a tampa business. it broke out at the big and deals supercenter on east hillsborough avenue just after 9 last night. crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the single story as it was upgraded to a second-alarm because of the size of the building. the roof wasn't stable... so crews had to fight it from the outside. they also called in 2 helicopters. nearly an hour in... the fire was upgraded once again-- to 3 alarms. no injuries have been reported. fire marshals will start their investigation once it's safe to go inside. also developing this morning... a man is critically injured when two cars crashed... causing one to hit a covered bus stop in saint pete.. it happened on 4th street south... just north of 21st avenue around 7:30 last night. the drivers of the cars were not seriously inju a step forward in the punta gorda citizens academy shooting investigation. you man remember the case from august... a woman was accidentally killed by a "punta gorda" police officer during a training exercise. the florida department of law enforcement has completed its investigation into "mary knowlton's" death. the state attorney's office is now reviewing the f-d-l-e report..and will decide whether to file criminal charges against "officer lee coel".
