What can you tell us as far as the impact of friday operations after yesterdays crash . Well, unfortunately, many people that we serve in the local neighborhood and actually throughout the community, because we do serve 18,000 thous holds annually, and on an individual weekly basis, were so people often only have access to the pantry when they do not have transportation and they have to walk. And so these are the people that were concerned about that will not be served until we can repair the damage. And so we will do our best to serve them and referring them to other locations. Reporter and in this case, no one was hurt. The information we have so far is that a young driver reportedly last control, came off the roadway into the parking lot food pantry here off north nebraska avenue. According to authorities, that driver has been cited. He received a citation in this case, but certainly this is going to impact the folks in the community until repairs can be made. Thousands of dollars in repairs needed. Correct. We will not know the exact total until the insurance adjustors are here today but were glad that no one is injured. We have a large parking lot here and we will do our best to continue to serve people in the community that are in need. Reporter and as people find out about this throughout the day, efforts are underway to make sure that referrals are provided to those who do arrive today and to be clear, will the thrift store section here be opened . We are able to open the thrift store because theres a separation between the two facilities. The food pantry is devastated at this point. Days to get things back up and running. Exactly. Thank you. These after, of course, deadly fires tore through gatlinburg. Some 16,000 acres burned, killing 13 people, destroying hundreds of homes. There is widespread destruction left behind. Julie takes a look. The fires are out but the damage has been done. 16,000 acres in and around gatlinburg scorched by a series of than 14,000 evacuations. The town of gatlinburg is closed but residents and Business Owners are now being allowed to assess the damage. I was able to get a signal and call our pastor and said you have to pray for me. We have fire on both sides. At least 11 people died and authorities are following up on dozens of missing persons reports. They say most have been accounted for but some people are still searching hospitals ones. She called me about 8 15 and said there were flames across the street from the house and she didnt know what to do. I told her to call 911 and that was the last time i talked to her. Inside Great Smoky Mountains National Park, some 15 square miles burned, leaving parts of americas most visited National Park a scorched landscape. And officials warn with the area experiencing extreme drought conditions, the wildfires could easily be when you have such strong winds and dry conditions, there is not a fire line wide enough that could possibly stop it. Pastor fan office to molest two teens. He asked them to pose nude and he sexually assaulted them multiple times. He told them that it would make them happy and feel better. We do have good news on the zika. Miami neighborhood has been declared zikafree. Governor scott made this announcement this morning in miami. He said the department of healths that cleared the little river area of local zika transmission. The only remaining zone is a small area of miami beach. Today is a good news day. After 45 days of no local transmission in the little river area, we can see the little river area transmission of zika. Vanessa and the governor called on the federal government to speed up funds, getting more funds to fight zika. We have an update now for folks who live near the mosaic plant. It will continue to test their wells for contamination through 2018. They made the announcement today. They say its all because that giant sink hole, youll recall in august it caused 200 million spill in the aqua fer. The Fertilizer Company will continue to test for free. For folks within a four mile radius of the plant, they will test every three months next year and two times in 2018. New this afternoon, police are searching for the man they say murdered a woman at a Tampa Mcdonalds this past summer. Police say antonio santiago shot and killed a woman at a fast river road in july. Her boyfriend called police but unfortunately, they could not save her. Officials say he could be in a white 1991 Toyota Pickup so if you see him, please call police. They say the 25yearold could be armed. Crime stoppers offering a 3,000 reward for information leading to his arrest. Meantime, police are also searching for a burglar. This man was caught entering the morning. He went into several cars, some unlocked. He didnt take anything but when he tried to take off with a pressure washer, the alarm sounded and he ran away so if you know anything, please call tampa police. You could be eligible for a reward as well. Man attacked. Firefighters and police officers. This after setting fire to a south tampa apartment early this morning. This happened on bay to bay boulevard. Firefighters arriving to find smoke coming from the roof and second floor with a ladder, they say that man came at them with a hammer. Eventually they got inside but the man had barricaded himself in the bedroom. Police in riot gear helped to get him out. He will likely be charged with felony arson. Its been 75 years since the attack on pearl harbor december 7, 1941 and this year, a man who was there and survived the attack is going back. Reporter its a very special day for a bay area man. 94yearold john sealey got on his flight this morning at 8 30 a. M. American airlines arriving in los angeles later on today and then tomorrow morning, hell arrive in hawaii just in time for the pearl harbor 75th anniversary. John sealey is the last man alive from the 25th infantry that served on wheeler airfield in 1941. He was assigned day when the first shots of the war were fired. He said when he saw the planes, he thought they were americans. He was about 10 feet from the hangar when the first plane came over. Just before 8 00 we saw all these planes coming in over the pass and we thought they were american planes. They became trapped during Tropical Storm colin. They did have enough food so officials werent very worried about them, but with winter right around the corner, they were getting concerned that the water could get too cold so three manatees were rescued yesterday and then the fourth one was removed about an hour and a half ago and they were released into safety harbor. Very comfortable for the noon hour. 73 degrees. Dew point yesterday, that was up in the 70s 40s. That gives us a humidity at 35 . Lots of clear skies. Winds coming primarily out of the northeasterly direction, anywhere from nine, six, five miles an hour. Sarasota, nine miles an hour, a little stronger over on the eastern side of this state and temperatures, 60s to the north. 70s and some mid 70s down to our south. Bradenton at 74 along the with sarasota and wauchula. For clearwater and up in brooksville currently sitting at 63 degrees. You can see what the cold front has done the past 12 hours or 24 hours of running between nine, 12, up to 14 degrees colder compared to this time yesterday so a pretty significant cold front that came through not only did it drop the temperatures but it really dried the atmosphere out so much. These numbers were all in the 70s yesterday. Now up in crystal river, the dew point is a we have a dew point of 41 so when you get the numbers in the 30s and the 40s, that is an invigorating weather. Thats going to continue through today into tomorrow, kind of holding into sunday but as we get into sunday night, heading into monday, thats when youre going to start to see the humidity creeping right back up and the moisture makes a return as we get into the first part of next week. Cold fronts to the south. All that deep, tropical humidity ridge of High Pressure is building in so we have lots of clear skies, just beautiful looking weather but as you look out to the gulf of mexico, you do see more clouds. In fact, theyre just racing across mexico into texas, seeing showers developing in the western gulf of mexico so its not going to be long before something heads in our direction. And thats going to be first part of next week. Lower humidity for today as the ridge works its way onto the east. You can already see by tomorrow, moisture is returning southeast and then the showers, they start heading our way as we get into, say, monday, tuesday and wednesday of next week.
