Pasco School Superintendent cutter browning says theres Home Construction boom in this area in pasco county. It has brought a lot of new residents into area. That led to overcrowding at in particular action Mitchell High School and Seven Springs middle school. To deal with that browning and the school board have been discussing how to redraw those boundaries that i just showed you. That would shuffle some students around and send them to different schools. The plan agreed to today would of those schools. All of schools in Southwest Region of pasco, those are ones were talking about in this case. Those will still be under capacity. So whats next . What what i just said this has to go before the superintendent. He going to look at this proposal. Hes going to have to approve it after that its going to have to go to the school board. And then theres going to be two public hearings. First is december 20th. The second one and at that meeting there will be a vote taken by the school board. That one i so linda we still have a lot to be ironed out here. That was my question, aaron. So parents didnt have a chance to weigh in on any of this today . But they will get a chance . No. Correct. Not today. This was just really the committee was deciding what is in their opinion best for this part of pasco county. You all are just one of many accredited sanctuaries helping to make sure that tigers like these have a safe place to say. Yes. Were part of this weve told largest rescue of big cats in american history. 75 tigers had to find new homes and some smaller cats too. The sanctuary in colorado had over 100 cats. And so this is a huge endeavor and a number of credited zinc wearies all around the country. In california, texas, to coalition. And agreed to take on certain number of cats depending on the room that they had. We have room to take these 5 tigers and were really thrilled to have them there and see how they adapt. What is this going to be like for them the next few days as far as getting adjusted, you all are going to be some medical checks. And getting adjusted to the weather and the holidays coming up i understand. Right. It will be an adjustment. Some of them will be fine. They will adjust right aaway. Other may take a little bit of generally we find that pretty much get relaxed once they realize were here to help them and we have their best interest in heart. Two tigers are girls. They have not been spayed. So they will be spayed at our on site hospital in next few days. And then as you mention next week is thanksgiving. Fox 13 jen epstein has his story. Lieutenant joe horton has a tough time imagining life without his friends at fire station 41. 30 years went by so fast it is just amazing. Bit is he done more than fight fires. He shared three decades of laughter, meals and memories. Thats probably one of my best memories with joe sitting eating dinner and having conversation with him. Joes fascination with fighting fires goes way back to when he was just 6 years old chasing local engine i would back my bicycle into garage like fire truck and follow the fire truck as far as i could until i was exhausted. I would actually watch t vehicle accidents and fires that were local by my home. And that is when i decided i wanted to become a fireman. He started volunteer with ols march fire rescue in 1984. And got his first job city largo three years later. By 1999, firefighters joe became lieutenant horton. Its very rewarding career for me accolades dont stop there. In 1998 joe was named firefighter of the year. And he competed in National Winning four national championships. But the awards and recognition have nothing to do with joes love for his job, its the camaraderie and community thats kept him there. Just being able to help people has always been me. And myselflessness and just, seeing people what they go through and their hurt times and stuff, if i can offer a hand thats always what i wanted to do. Now that hes lived out his dream, hes ready to move on. And up to the mountains of tennessee. Where his cabin his wife and his dogs are waiting. Were hiker were kayaker mountain climbers. We do everything outdoors. And the mountains are just beautiful. And while it all sounds pretty perfect. Retiring in Great Outdoors lieutenant horton admits it still wont easy to break 30 year habit and hang up his uniform for good. Waking up every day putting my boots on as i have for 30 years and hanging that coat up is just leave my family here. And work your way an across Northern Counties into mid 70s areas either the upper 70s or low 80s as we go through afternoon look dew points when you get numbers into the 40s, and the 50s, it really feels very comfortable outside. And that kind of weather is going to be with us through the weekend. Although we will kind of maybe warm it up a little bit over the next couple of days. This is all in advance of a pretty big cold front swinging true the area. Now this cold front is just does not have enough moisture with it to produce any rain. Might see a but what its really going to do is bring cooler temperatures right back over us. Right now, weve got big ridge of High Pressure over us. Weve got nice quiet weather. Going to go all the way into the weekend. Then the cold front which lined up back to our west, thats going to swing down across the country. Well see few showers across the southeast. But by the time the front gets down over us, it basically loses all of that moisture and when it comes through here dry.
