Weve warmed up so much this week that it feels like beach weather just about and water temperatures may be a touch on the cool side. But other than that, were looking at beautiful looking into the weekend. Weve had a quiet pattern all week long, really not a whole lot of change from daytoday. What weve been dealing with the past few days is just some breezy conditions and picks up some clouds from the eastern side of the state, brings the low clouds through the area and then some upper level clouds have been passing through as well but kind of blend it all together and still, a nice day. 82 degrees outside right now. Dew point is at 64. That makes humidity at 64 . Winds eastnortheast at 16, gusting up to 24 miles an hour. Already in the mid 80s in brandon at 84 degrees. Same in sarasota and venice. There you see the satellite view of some high clouds working their way across state. So if youre thinking in the back of your mind, we have to watch this for tropical development, were watching it but it doesnt look like anything will develop because of the strong wind shear. What weve been dealing with the past few days is just some breezy conditions and picks up some clouds from the eastern side of the state, brings the low clouds through the area and then some upper level clouds have been passing through as well but kind of blend it all together and still, a nice day. 82 degrees outside right now. Dew point is at 64. That makes humidity at 64 . Winds eastnortheast at 16, gusting up to 24 miles an hour. Already in the mid 80s in brandon at 84 degrees. Same in sarasota and venice. Lakeland, Wesley Chapel<\/a>, bartow, all at 79 degrees. You head in brooksville currently sitting at 80 degrees. Downtown st. Petersburg, youre currently at 77 degrees and weve been watching this all week long with that easterly flow. Remember, we have a ridge of High Pressure<\/a> to the north and relatively lower pressure down to the south. Increase the wind so right now the winds are gusting up about 24 miles an hour. We head down to venice, winds are currently gusting up to 26 miles an hour. Well continue with breezy weather. It looks like through much of the weekend as well. There you see the satellite view of some high clouds working their way across state. A lot more cloud cover as you go down across the southern part of the state down to the florida straits and down into the caribbean a weather but a lot of wind shear across this area. So if youre thinking in the back of your mind, we have to watch this for tropical development, were watching it but it doesnt look like anything will develop because of the strong wind shear. Conditions are not favorable to see anything try to form down in this area. Now, across the north and the northeast, theres the cold front thats swung through the northeast bringing some rain, some sleet, some freezing rain, across new york city and cooler temperatures across the Northern Tier<\/a> of states as well. Buffalo is at 43 degrees. Chicago at 53 but see that dividing line. That front has pulled up stationary well to the north so south of that, temperatures are actually pretty mild running in the 70s and 80s. 40s, 50s and 60s north of that line. You brought this whole thing with you. Its so great. Explain to us what this system is and how it helps you as a doctor. I think this is basically bringing 21st to hands of our patients. Its making a transformation between a two dimensional picture to a 3d in which the patient can navigate inside their own heads. So before you have mris or ct scans, this is something different. Its based on the ct, the mris, acquisition, the images are the same. Its just higher vault and you put them in a specific format and you can actually reconstruct them like if its the real actually navigate inside of them. You can give the patient that opportunity. I was going to say, is this something that you can show the patient . Sometimes when a doctor says you have a tumor, you have an aneurysm, its hard to picture exactly what it is hard. We need to train for several years. I actually trained for like nine years to be able to put on my head how this picture of your brain is actually inside your head. What we can do now is give that to look at the tumor, look at the aneurysm, they can see how were going to approach it, how were going to navigate inside of their brain and they understand not only the disease by themselves but the potential complications, the risks, the areas of danger, where we probably want to stop in order not to as a former patient, not a brain aneurysm but it relieves anxiety when you can get a good i think its very, very good for patients. A few patients have been able to be exposed to this technology that expressed their gratefulness. Theyre very, very happy to be able to see that. Right now youre using it for brain surgery. Do you foresee it used in other ways . Absolutely. I think as part of the cranial division of neuro surgery, we are at the forefront of this. I think this technology is being made available to us through the foundation. It advance it but also a great chance to make it available to other specialties where also and the hospital, all the specialties are looking into this, well, if it works for the brain which is complicated, it should work for the rest of the body. People at home are saying, is this an extra cost to me . Will insurance pick it up . That part im not so sure yet. This is a Pilot Program<\/a> so far. Its so new technology that were just trying to see if we patients, if it helps, if it is actually the images, the risk of the surgery, were in all the experimental phases yet. Here i go. I see. When we see a patient with this, you can tell them, see, brain in this way and these are the blood vessels that will be in the way. Its very interesting. I think, again, if youre a patient and youre sitting in there, this is going to help see where its located and this is what its going to take for me to get it out. Jennifer its not a sight y a horse inside a hospital. But this is no ordinary equine. This is amos the wonder horse. Hes really lived up to his name. Its more than just his braided tail and manicured mane that makes him wonderful. Hes a therapy horse and has a knack for making people smile. Hes been charming people at nursing homes, assisted living facilities and hospitals across tampa bay for five years. Theres never a visit where i go out, whether were working amaze me. He does something every time thats just beautiful. Jennifer it might sound like a big task for a small horse but the kids think amos is the perfect size. He was nice. He gave me a kiss on my hand. So well continue with the but looks like through most of the weekend as well. You can see some high clouds passing through the area. You look down across the gulf of mexico and down to the caribbean, just seeing this large area, very disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Nothing tropical developing here, just some showers working across cuba and seeing some isolated showers working their way up into the southern part of the state but certainly more cloud cover down across the extreme southern part of the state. Now, we have that one cold front country. Its not heading down over us but its been bringing some weather up across the northeast. Theyve had the rain, theyve had some snow, some sleet, freezing rain and windy weather as well. Its continuing to work through vermont and New Hampshire<\/a> and into maine and that front really kind of divides the country.
