Thats really the big key in all of this is when does it make that turn. Because if that ridge doesnt extend as far to the west as we thought, well then its going to so top winds right now have increased to 70 miles an hour. It is starting to slow down in that forward motion. Currently moving to the west at 15 miles an hour. So you can see, it continues on that track to the west. And then, we look for that turn. More towards the north. That should happen some time over the weekend. And there you see, working its way to north. Now all the computer models major computer model are keeping it to the east of t state. But theres that big question exactly how far to the east of the computer models, well thats where were seeing some starting to see some discrepancies. Not only in the exact position, but how quickly this system moves. Now were looking two major computer models gfs are the black lines. The european are the white lines. Now as we go through time, you watch out very good agreement until you see that turn, then you can start to he big split in models gfs moves it much more the south. But over here you can see working its way into Pinellas County. Right now weve got pretty strong band. Just to the south of holiday stretching down through Tarpon Springs palm harbor then down jst off the clearwater. Its lesser amounts as you work your way further to the south. But thats going to continue to work et cetera way to the east so northwestern Hillsborough County, you get set for some of that rain to be working through there. And then up to our north, up through dade city, stretching down almost to zephyrhills. Working it is way into a southern sumter county. Then stretching up into Hernando County as well south and east of brooksville. But other showers are starting to pop up to the south and west of brooksville. On to the east as well. Throughout right through the middle of polk county. Over towards winter haven youve got rain working its way through there. Then as you get dpoun into pan Manatee County most in eastern Manatee County and southeastern hillsborough. More rain lined up into Highlands County as well. Now in the tropics, were watching Tropical Storm matthew. Still undergoing some moderate wind sheer over the system. So going to tend to a slowly and intensify. As we go through the next couple of days. Degrees north. 66. 3 west. Top winds right now at 70 miles an hour. Starting to slow down a little bit. But still moving on at pretty good clip and moving to the west right now at 15 miles an hour. Weve got that big ridge of sitting to the north. In the shortterm, its going to continue that track on to the west. Then as it gets on it that western side of the ridge, thats what going to allow system to make that turn over still looking at a category 1, category 2 hurricane. And big key to all of this is exactly when it makes that turn. If it does it sooner it keeps furm wie from east coast of u. S. And makes it later obviously going to put it closer to the east coast of the u. S. Now as you look at the different computer models you can see very good disagreement in shortterm once it makes that turn you tart to see more and more of that spread.
