we are dealing with upper 50s a little further inland, pembrook pines down into kendall and homestead. apart from the temperatures being op the cooler side, this morning, we are also dealing with a few showers that remain over the at laplantic waters. down into miami-dade, we are gipping to see a few light showers offshore continue to push in along that light, light northeast breeze. now, are expecting to have that northeast wind throughout most of the dy. as you can see, the showers will slowly but surely approach. miami-dade county. these showers are very, very close to the coast. at any on if there is a suspect description or what sparked the shooting. we will keep you posted derrick wadina has been sentenced to life in prison. he was found guilty of second-degree murder after fatally shooting his wife eight times and posting a photo of her body on facebook. he told police he shot his wife during an altercation in which she threatened him with a knife. jurors did not buy first alert forecast on this saturday, we are going to keep it mostly cloudy for today. we are going to leave light showers throughout the first half of the day increasing as the afternoon goes on, becoming heavier this eveninw and into the overnight hours. why is that? remember that front that swung through and cooled things down for us. now, it is just stationary to the south of us across the florida straits. that's what's helping toto trigger these showers. expected to lift to the north as the day goes on. low pressure forming along that front and pushing throgh again as another system. one, that's going to leave us a good chance for heavy rain, possibly an isolated thunderstorm overnight into tomorrow morning. two, that's also going to cool us down for the second half of the week and even more than we already are. for today, the main threats will be marine conditions. in effect for the atlantic waters. breezy conditions expected to pick up. with winds out of the east/northeast, we are expecting a high risk along atlantic beaches. here is that front that comes through overnight early. we should be okay. parting with a few clouds throughout the morning hours. today. it is saturday, february 6th. i'm sharon lawson. we are going to get you started with your first alert weather forecast and meteorologist, erika delgaa. it is going to be cool and you may need some raingear later on >> you are absolutely right. in broward countm, things are okay. miami-dade will begin to see a few showers forming offshore. things are okay but i want you to take a zoomed-in look. these showers are close to miami-dade c cnty as they continue to approach the coast. right now, if you are anywhere in t south beach area or even near key biscayne, keep in mind, we are expecting a light sher to move on through within the next few minutes. have that umbrella handy. we are also expecting an increasing chapsnce of rain as the day goes on. temperatures across the sunshine state, waking up to0s and 40s across the panhandle. 40s and 50s across central florida. closer to home, we are seeing temperatures in the upper 50s and low 60s. if you are ithe miami or ft. lauderdale area, you are seeing temperatures close to average around 61 degrees n the mid-60s later, they will be shifting out of theortheast and they will be picking up a little. that will leave a small craft advisory in effect for the atlantic waters and the gulf coast. take a look at what we are doing as far as cloud cover is concerned within the next few hours. your first alert forecast calling for a cloudy start to our weekend unfortunately. i mentioned temperatures on the average side where we should be for this time of yeyer. with the cloud cover in place and the north wind and any time showers are in the forecast, we are expecting temperatures to remain in the 60s for most of the morning. we are expecting temperatures later this afternoon to be in the mid-70s. keep in mipd, that should not be a thunderstorm. that should be some showers we are expecting in the late morning hours. keep the umbrella close, because we will be needing it speciallyly throughout the second half more victims out there. 64-year-old raphael negron is accused of sexual abuse of two sisters that were his students at this winward arts studio. they began the investigation when the victim's mother discovered textessages on the older sister's phone. the defendant invited the 15-year-old over to his place asking her to be his baby. his home is also where he teaches. we went to that martial arts studio and called the number on the front window. still, no answer. >> detectives believe there may be other victims since the majority of the students that attend his tae kwon do school are children. >> do not have any contact with these chdren, directly, if y have any information, call crime stoppers, 305 305-471-tips. we have new details in the case of a miami gardens police officer that shot and killed a mentally ill man. prosecutors are not filing charges against the officer who some say used excessive force. this month marks one year since 25-year-old laval hall was shot and killed by the officer t was. it was hall's mother who called 911 when her son started behaving erratically. he says the officer's use of deadly force was justified because he attacked officers with the metal tip broomstick. for the family, this case is not over. still pending is a wrongful death lawsuit filed against the city of miami gardens and the police department. new details in the case of say tried to rob a south florida store at gunpoint. they have decided not to press charges against the child o once faced punishment for aggravated assault and robbery with a firearm. instead, he must attend a diversion program and stay awhich from the convenience store. he was caught on camera with his mother's gun demanding money from a clerk. another worker was able to wrestle the gun away and call police. a recommendgister sex offender is behind bars for disturbing allegations against young girls. rickie hoggins miss convicted and this isn't his first arrest. he was in a fort lauder dale courtroom to hear his charges. the sunrise police say he parked next to a group of girls at a playground, dropped his pants to his knees and pleasured himself. prosecutors are concerned about because they claim he has prior convictions and more new cases pending. police want anyone who may have been a victim of him to come forwardrd rescue crews rushed to fort ever glades to help a worker injured on a shift. they moved him down the stairs and on to dry land. they called this a low-angle rescue. no word as to what happened aboard the ship or how that man is doing this morning. after a missing couple was found dead in their car at the bottom of a lake, rescue crews are reminding people of the importance of an auto rescue tool called a center punch. rescue crews made the devastating discovery on thursday finding a missing car with alexander picone and brenda aranus submerged at the bottom of the lake. they want them to have a center punch in the car as south florida is surrounded
