And its all because of a pact he made four years ago. Your news starts right now. Were beginning tonight with some breaks news just in to the news room. A 7yearold child has been shot in southeast this evening. It happened on heartford street in southeast. We dont know how it happened or the condition of the child. We have a crew headed to the scene we will keep you posted and bring you the latest information as it comes winter wont go away. Most of the area is set to go under a freeze watch or a freeze warning for tonight. Some of you may even see some snow showers this weekend. Gwen tolbart has our bh weather alert tonight. I never thought i would be saying this time of year, but yes, we are talking snow showers and temperatures well below seasonal. Lets begin with a look at our radar and well show you where things are. Weve got a system, a couple of them that will impact our area, one of them a clipper system going to be moving through. We will start to see some of this precipitation into the late overnight hours into the early early hours of saturday morning before dawn. Temperatures right now, 48 degrees at dc, 41 at mannasas, weve got 40 at dulles, 41 at baltimore, thats the same at leonardtown, a little cooler atd frederick at 37 degrees. This kicks in at 11 00 tonight until 2 00 the Higher Elevations where this is shaded is where we anticipate seek anywhere from 3 to 6 inches of accumulation with some very gusty winds as well. Bling snow and very poor visibility. As we come more to the east we have a freeze warning in effect from midnight until 9 00 a. M. Saturday as those temperatures will start to drop and we are talking an overnight low of about 36 degrees. Ill let you know what to expect as we get more into our forecast a little later. And of course about those snow showers, back to you. All right gwen. Thank you very much. Todays deadline for Adult Entertainment venues in Prince Georges County to shut down has now come and gone. Last week the permitting office sent 12 strip clubs operating in residential areas and without proper licenses cease and desist letters. Stricter zoning laws put in place several years ago are helping the county with the crackdown. Sarah simmons is here with the story. Tony, today three out of the 12 businesses had to shut down because they operate solely as Adult Entertainment locations which is illegal under county law. The county says it doesnt end here. Inspectors will be out making sure all 12 locations are operating the way they should be. The three ordered to shut their doors permanently are feugo, upscale ballroom and club ectasy. Prince georges county found these clubs were violating zoning laws established in 2012. Other clubs that also operate as restaurants, bars, banquet halls can stay open but stripping is out as of 5 00 p. M. Today. The rule is those businesses have to move to Industrial Zones throughout the county and Officials Say most of them are more than a thousand feet from residential areas. They consider this to be a big victory and it gets the Adult Entertainment away from neighborho pretty much isolates them. These closings come more than a year after fox 5 investigated allegations of sex trafficking at many of these clubs. That investigation found illicit activities inside several clubs that are now being forced to shut down. A sex trafficking survivor who runs a Safe Haven Organization for woman trying to get out sees these clubs are a breeding ground for sex traffickers and this is a step in the right direction. If they dont comply, they eventually will pads lock the businesses if they have to. Staying in Prince Georges County, where police have charged a daycare provider in the death of a ninemonthold girl. Beatrice manning is charged with first degree murder, assault and child abuse. Police say manning called 911 from her inhome daycare back in december saying the baby was unresponsive. The little girl died two days the head. Tonight neighbors say they are shocked. She probably fell or something. Im sure. Im pretty sure she didnt get hit. Just very shocked. Disturbed, shocked. Dont believe it. She go get them from school and all that. I dont believe it. I think it was an accident. Police say the daycare was not licensed. Manning is being held without bond. Remember that 29 hour metro shutdown for safety inspections, Congress Wants to know a little more about it. Lawmakers called the general manager to testify before two House Oversight subcommittees next week. Public safety and violence on metro are also issues for the troubled transit system. Jennifer davis has the latest. Reporter Guardian Angels have been patrolling metro for a while now following a series of incidents in recent months and thursday they detained someone for police. The main trying to do is just be assistants to the police and just detain, make sure no one gets hurt. I wasnt sure whether he had a gun or knife. Reporter it started when he noticed the young man trying to surf a train at gallery place. I just observed the individual that was in a very dangerous position. He put himself at risk by holding on to a train that was about to begin to move. And could have brought a lot of danger to himself as well as to others. Reporter Thompson Says when he asked the man to stop, the teen rider threatened him. He said to me, you know what . You get on this train, im going to stab you. At that point i said okay, its time to get involved. Reporter Guardian Angels detained the young man until Metro Transit Police arrived and took him away. Police were busy again friday just after 1 00 when they stay a lavrnlg fight teens. Metro riders say safety is certainly a hot topic right now. I think the young people probably need some supervision or need some rules, some points on how to behave out in public. They represent their family and if their families knew they were behaving in that man or, im sure many families would not let them out. The safety has been okay. It would help if there were more Police Officers on it. But it hasnt been awful. Metros gm speaking to reporters on wednesday said there is much for the system to work on, but also said it still has strengths too. He woo do 1. 2 million passengers a day, thats pretty strong, right . If youre moving that many people. I think maybe we lost a little bit of a sense of pride in it. Through some things were facing. But we can regain that. Theres no word tonight about arrests in either of those cases. Avenue incident is expected to be okay. Tonight there is more concern in the district. This time its dcs circulator buses. Drivers say the buses are unsafe and its just a matter of time before someone gets hurt. Last august 95 of the buses inspected had serious issues. A second audit second months ago found improvements but the Bus Drivers Union disagrees. They have a contract with metro to oversee the circulator buses. They are working with the private contractor to monitor the progress. A dc woman is under arrest in connection with a deadly pedestrian accident in northwest. It happened around 1 30 in the morning on massachusetts avenue. Police say a man was hit and killed after he stepped off of the curb. The driver was arrested on the scene and charged with driving under the influence. Police have not identified the victim. A community in falls church is on alert was spotted hanging around an Elementary School playground. The principal sent a note home to parents alerting them of a suspicious man holding some type of a computer or tablet. The letter says he was standing outside a fence near the schools playground this afternoon. Thats when Security Officials approached him and when they did, he took off. A fight broke out on a Spirit Airlines fight last month over a loud boom box. It happened on a fight from baltimore to los angeles.
