He wasnt really suggest the Electoral College voters should change their minds, calming the waters but not denying that he had i tutee interesting. He sort of scolded the mad a little bit with our obsession with the hillary emails released and so much focus on that. Did that surprise you it didnt surprise me because i think thats a fairly commonplace opinion in democrat circles. The debate about what we should have broadcast and shouldnt is a broader debate but i think certainly you hear that being said in democrat circles quite a while what do you think overall . When he was talking mostly, seem a lot about russias involvement, did you feel as though he could have been a little bit tougher on his stance, he told him to cut it out seemed kind of not very intense, i guess is the word. I think that phrase you cut it out was a phrase that his critics will probably make use of to suggest is that he could have been more assertive. But he put that in a broader context of what he was trying to do and his fear, he didnt say he win but that was the implication and not wanting to have the process brought because of raising these issues we know that detroit and his campaign or donald trump, now we have the fbi sort of signing on today. From listening to all of that, the president also revealed hes had conversations with donald trump, and i was sort of surprised that at how he described the candor between the two of them. Can you tell us a little bit more about that he talked about cord gel i think was his word. The conversation between himself and donald trump et ceteras stressing he was there to help him. A smooth transition of power, and i presumed the kind of personal challenges living in the white house that every president has to face including president obama. Its a small club. A few people can be that club who can term say this is what you can expect. I thought it was interesting, seemed like he was talking engine general but sort of i gave him ideas of how to hold up the integrity of this office. So i thought that was specifically maybe also going along the lines of the russians involvement with the election process, is it that thought once Obama Leaves Office will this die away or no because democrats have such an interest in keeping that story alive. I think president obama was trying to not have those questions be really widespread to a point where people would not believe donald trump is a legitimate president. House is historic, built in 1824 has been was in a private family until the 1940s and really wasnt until 1976 that jimmy carter was using it as a Transition Office and he spent time there and then every president since then has spent the last few days right before the inauguration at this historic mansion. The interesting question whether the p embrace that tradition or make his own by as a lot of people are speculating stay at his hotel hes the first president i can think of whos had his own hotel in dc. Have you reached out to Trump Campaign i did. What did you find out they said no announcements are made yet. Theres an interesting question. Because even on inaugural eve, anybody else can stay at the trump home. The only person can stay at blair house which is typically used for other foreign heads of state is the president elect and his family and his guests. So and the symbolic importance of that is that every morning they wake up on inaugural day, sign a guest book, its their first act as almost about to be head of state. Symbol lizes the importance of global democracy and what the and typically the family will go off to a church service, walk across the street to the white house to meet with the out going president and first lady and drive to the capitol for the swearing in. It will be fascinating to see if that happens, because it does have such a historic tradition. You get the scoop on all sorts of things, can you give us any other little insider tips that you may have found out about the inauguration and what we can expect i spoke to the inaugural Committee Chairman and he said what hes trying to emphasize what the president elect wants and this should someone whos been a very close friend of the president elect for all 40 years. Is really that after what was a very divisive president ial campaign, the theme of this is for everybody to pull together, that we are a united country. And its a chance for donald trump his really chance at president to show that on a world stage, in a way that perhaps the rest of the world had quite noti every time i lobby in foreign coverage, he was, i was. Do you believe people will be upset that hes not going with any traditions whatsoever with the white house . I think that this is an unprecedented presidency and i think anybody who says they know whats going to happen is wrong. So you know, hes he has his own mind, hes going to do what he wants to do. At the same time, i think being president ial is important. To him, and to look president ial and this is part of a tradition that solidify that is conduct. Thats from friends sharing they know trust their friends, therefore they trust the stories we are doing we did a story last night about how facebook is now partnering with these Fact Checkers news organizations associated press, that type of thing, do you think this is really going to help crack down on this issue by labeling these stories, absolutely. Yes, theyre not that hard to pick the problem is facebook is resisted having any editorial people there. Having any Fact Checkers because Mark Zuckerberg whose be the ceo saying were not a news owe dont produce content, why should we have to do that. When you have nearly 191 Million People in this country alone, 1. 7 world wide billion you have a responsibility when youre one of the main places where people get news there are, you know, a lot of people have said some of those fake news stories may have influenced the election in the way people voted. Ive heard that and i dont know how you quantify that. I dont know if a fake news story compelled hillary never to campaign in, i doubt a fake news story like pope francis endorses donald trump, which is something what is the reasoning behind posting fake news stories its about money in these situations. If you have an interesting story or provocative one with Major Players like a donald trump or Hillary Clinton, produces revenue, clicks, money making vehicle to put fiction out there posed as nonfiction. Youre talking about it being a money making vehicle. How big of, i guess, corporation or organization is behind these websites thats making this money . Is it big business is a corporation defined you know what im saying, its just im in a basement . Couple people like, you know, thats just what theyre doing to drum up money . Yeah. I mean, most of the time, its just how much would you say theyre making . 10s of thousands of dollars with the pizza story, that produced millions of clicks.
