>> definitely. it's nice morning. we've a string of beautiful weather days this week. >> sure did. >> let's take a live look outside. no rain coming from those clouds but as we take a view of northwest d.c. you definitely see that when it overcast. a warm front is approaching. that will move through this afternoon and with the warm front comes some very warm temperatures. let's get straight to it. it's mild but it actually feels pretty refreshing. temperatures in the mid-50's. it's not humid, it's not too warm. we are coming off of a very comfortable friday afternoon and friday evening so it's 56 at reagan national, 55 at dulles. bwi marshall waking up to 54 degrees. let's check some of our suburban spots where there are some 40's showing up in the mountains. 46 cumberland, 47 martinsburg and 45 in winchester. most of us in the mid-50's. it will take awhile but our temperatures should really jump well into the 70's later this afternoon. it's all due to the timing that of warm front. satellite and radar not showing many showers but just some increased cloud cover around dan i think we see more clouds than sun unlike the past few days which have been so bright and beautiful today will be a bit of a cloudier one and maybe spotty shower later this afternoon or this evening but otherwise it will be rain free which is great for the nats game this afternoon beginning in the 1 o'clock hour. here's your planning forecast for your saturday. 63 degrees by 11:00 a.m. still kind of cool this morning and cloud deal. we'll see peaks of sunshine later today as that south wind increases and we'll hit a high temperature of 77. still on track for a very warm easter holiday. i'll have that still ahead in your seven-day forecast. >> thanks so much caitlin. happening today, metro safe track surge 14 begins. and this will affect rider whose use the green line t our alexandria limon joining ugg live from greenbelt with all the details. alex what do riders need to know? >> reporter: well, anarchy the first thing they need to know is that this station right here the greenbelt station will be closed for the next month as part of this safe track sur a especially buses, the ones coming through that will replace the trains. what i can also show you over here is that there is a mobile command unit and that's basically the and unit that's going to be coordinating all of these work crews coming through for safe track surge 14. now, as you mentioned, it does get started today. metro originally said this was going to be a longer period of continuous single tracking. instead t-the agency now says surge 14 will be a shutdown and the reason for that is to reduce the amount of time the repair work will impact customers. surge 14 will be divided into two phases. the first one is from today through may 14th. and -- i'm sorry, from today through april 29th and buses will replace trains between greenbelt and prince george's plaza and two stations will be closed, greenbelt and college park. free shuttle buses will run between greenbelt and prince george's plaza and they stop at college park. now, green line trains will run close to regular service everywhere else on the line. about every six to eight minutes. metro says yellow rush plus trains will not operate during this time. now, phase two is from april 30th through may 14th and the work zone will be shortened a bit between greenbelt and college park only. as a result, though, the greenbelt station will remain closed again with shuttle buses operating instead of those trains and the once again, metro says yellow rush plus will not operate during phase two, either, and this, of course, will cause trickling delays and in effect customers in various ways on the green line as her home. no one has heard from her since. her family is concerned about her physical and emotional well being. if you have seen this woman, you're urged to call that number on your screen. also new this morning o-two virginia children who were reported missing yesterday were found early this morning. two young boys ages five and one were last seen yesterday in the portsmouth virginia area. police say their alleged abductor is their mother who was making threats yesterday against her children. she is not in custody at this time. and this morning d.c. police are investigating a double shooting that happened in southeast d.c. it happened around 8:30 last night in the 3500 block of stanton road. police say the victims are two men. no word on their conditions or what led to the gunfire. so far no arrests have been made. now to fairfax where a man is accused of hitting a 75-year-old woman two times with his car and then driving off. the crash happened yesterday morning on fair oaks area. fox5's tisha lewis spoke with the victim's daughter. >> reporter: maria ascencio was someone who put someone before herself including her three children, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. she moved to the united states from el salvador to the united states 20 years ago to give them a better life. >> she was always like asking what do you need, what can i do for you. >> reporter: the 75-year-old matriarch loved her family and she loved her morning walks in this fair oaks neighborhood. this morning was no exception. >> an hour later she didn't come back home and that's why i was calling to her phone. >> reporter: but sandra chavez never did reach her movement instead please answered the phone saying there had been an accident. >> i feel in my heart like something wrong happened and i said no, please, no, not my mother. >> reporter: police say keen maria ascencio has she was crossing the street but that's not all. >> the car came down rugby road struck her turned around and struck her again. >> reporter: he was arrested after a woman noticed him acting strangely. >> she took a photo of him. when she did that the man assault said her grabbed jewelry from her and went into one of the businesses. >> reporter: police were called when he fled to the gym r when officers arrived they noticed front end damage to his car and quickly connected him tom ascencio's death. >> one thing i have peace in my heart that are she received jesus in her heart, the only saviour and she was sure about her salvation so i know that she's in a better place now. now. >> to maryland now the jokers jinx ride at six flags america in upper marlboro will be closed again today. the rollercoaster will not reopen until workers figure out why it got stuck on thursday. rotating restaurant in atlanta georgia. officials say the five-year-old boy got trapped at the sun dial restaurant. the boy became trapped between the stationary and moving parts. he later died at the hospital. and president trump is spending the weekend at his mar-a-lago resort in florida. north korea continues to warn of a nuclear test. we'll get the very latest from the fox's greg palkett. >> reporter: kim jong un's deputy foreign minister talking to associated press today and telling them basically what we have been hearing from other north korean officials. that they will confront what they call reckless u.s. military maneuvers with a pre-emptive strike using a powerful nuclear deterrent. [speaking foreign language] >> the interpreter: we are taking into account the most aggressive and dan come up with and we have also got outer loop options outer loop countermeasures ready in our hands which means we'll go to war if they choose. >> reporter: as the people in pyongyang mark the birth date of their founder that's kim ill sung, there are also reports north korea could detonate yet another nuclear device. the word from the officials that the government will do that at the time and the the place of their choosing. finally, as we watch north korean military officers pay their respects at the birthplace of the found of north korea just outside of pyongyang we also heard that officials say that president trump is the one causing all the trouble. he says that the vicious and aggressive provocations are coming from the white house. in south korea as part of a 10 day overseas tour. the strip intended to reinforce that the u.s. is fully committed to its security alliances especially in the face of north korea's nuclear threats. he'll also visit japan indonesia and australia. the defense department released new video of thursday's strike in afghanistan. it shows the moment u.s. forces dropped amass sieve ordnance air blast bottom of the beltway it's the largest nonnuclear weapon ever used in combat carrying 11 tons of explosives. it blew out caves believed to be used by isis fighters close to the border of pakistan. haven't seen them. >> i haven't seen them either. they've had a rough start. all the other trees and flowers everything maybe that's helped and hopefully it's still beautiful down that were at the tidal basin because we have great weather again this weekend for the holiday it's awesome. if you're traveling today no problems despite the cloud cover. not expecting any rain and we will see a little bit of sunshine as a warm front crosses by later this afternoon. the it will be warm even though it's cool right now. we're wrapping up what was an fantastic weather week. oh, april in d.c. is just -- it's one of my favorite months here. probably april and october those transitioning months where the weather can be just perfect because in between you know how cold and howl hot it can be. easter weekend warmup that is our big weather headline going into today but this easter weekend warmup does that not come without the pollen unfortunately we've got really high levels of the tree pollen still in place mainly i think from elm trees or oak trees. the mold grasses and weeds stay low but i think it's the tree pollen bothering everyone. we'll get help hopefully clear out a lot of that tree pollen h windows opened weather 54 baltimore, 56 annapolis and d.c. 55 dulles, 40's across the mountains so very nice there and all across the northeast it is pretty cool. 43 in boston, 52 new york, 52 in pittsburgh, line in columbus. it will be a great easter weekend across much of the eastern seaboard. satellite and radar showing some cloud cover that's been increasing during the overnight hours. so it is a little cloudy and cool but you don't see much rain out there and i think aside from maybe a sprinkle or two later on this evening we hold off on those rain chances until the very end of the week. really though more like early monday morning. so, here's the setup. high pressure just off shore that makes way for this warm front to move through. that will increase the cloud cover. it already kind of has but through the morning and into the afternoon hours i think we see more clouds than sunshine. temperatures well into the 70's and still above normal. we've had several days in a row now with above normal temperatures and today we'll continue that trend and sunday certainly reinforcing trend. bermuda high and that southerly flow around it will push temperatures well into the 80's. this is tomorrow so i think the little ones will be sweating in their easter bon nets, you, too, because with high temperatures in the mid to upper 80's and some humidity, this will feel, i-much more like maybe late may, early june or just really a summer afternoon but here's the way it looks for your easter weekend forecast f77 degrees partly sunny for today. very warm tomorrow. 86. annie, how cute are these little bunnies. >> my gosh. >> they're so fun to look at. i love them. i know, right. makes me want pet bunny, too. probably a little bit of hard work. you get the idea. it is going to be a beautiful weekend if not a little hot for tomorrow. seven-day forecast shows we cool off on monday, 76. cooler 70 on tuesday. whole work week itself does feature temperatures above normal as we soar back into the 70's but notice i've got a little rain cloud on each day because as the front passes through sunday night, it could bring an isolated shower or even a thunderstorm to our& area and of gets stuck to our south monday and tuesday, sole southern areas could see a chance of a shower. next storm system arrives wednesday into thursday. you've got several chances of showers but again, this is some beneficial rain that we could use. we'll seal how this pans out as we get closer but for now just putting that chance of shower in just about every the presence of hydrogen. the casini detected hydrogen molecules in the geysers shooting off the moons. bryan llenas has more on this discovery. exciting news coming from nasa. scientists say an ocean world orbiting saturn could be a top contender for life beyond earth, the liquid ocean lies beneath the surface of saturn's moon. nasa's casini spacecraft has found hydrogen molecules in the geysers there possibly the result of reactions between water and rock. >> this finding at the result of 12 years of casini investigations and it really represents a capstone finding for the mission. because we now know that they have almost all the ingredients that that you would need to support life as we know it on earth. >> reporter: nasa scientists are quick to point out that this latest discovery does not mean there's life on insell that that their may and the conditions for life. you're rope pap also believed to have a subsurface ocean may have water vapor jets spewing into space as well. >> korea d.c. if you're looking for something to do today to enjoy the nice weather. this afternoon the washington nationals take on the philadelphia phillies. the game starts at 1:05. the nationals are hosting jackie robinson day and black heritage today celebrating the anniversary robinson breaking the color barrier in major league baseball p players will wear number 42 in honor of robinson. check out the southwest waterfront fireworks festival happening today from 2 o'clock to 9:30 at the district wharf. there will be plenty of food trucks live music a beer garden and a spectacular fireworks display that kicks off at 8:30 tonight. a time honored tradition will take place at the white house on monday. yes, it is the annual easter egg roll. president trump will be there for this annual event. white house press secretary sean spicer says about 21,000 people will attend this year, that's a little smaller from last year when president president obama hosted 35,000 people. it dates back to 1838 when president rutherford b hayes opened up the white house gates. every year since each administration has put its own spin on the festivities. 7:21. still ahead at 7:00 chaos inside one of the busiest train stationing in the world. reports gunshots inside penn station search hundreds of people stampeding out leaving luggage and even shoes behind. we'll have details on what happened was gunfire setting off a stampede as passengers ran from the area many of them abandoning their suitcases shoes and other personal items in the chaos. 16 people were treated for nonlife-threatening injuries. amtrak police say two people were taken into custody for disobeying orders. to honolulu hawaii where firefighters rescued a window washer who suffered a medical emergency while scaling down a highrise building. it happened yesterday. the rescuers eventually broke the window on the eighth floor to bring the noon safety. hawpe rushed to the hospital in serious condition. to philadelphia where police used carrots to capture a horse on the run. police believe the animal got loose from a city and stable and it was seen galloping through the city nice run before police were able to capture the horse and calm it down. he was eventually taken back to the stables. fans of the popular fox tv show "24 legacy" need to buckle up. the series finale is days away and we're told there will cover out there today. warm front is moving in and that is known for bringing the clouds but it is kind of cool out there right now with temperatures only in the 50's. we'll see things warm up later on this afternoon once that warm front crosses by. the warmest temperatures today will be southwest of washington down by charlottesville culpeper where the warm front gets through quicker. reagan national 57. dulles 55, bwi 54. we've had a.m. beautiful couple of days here in washington and we'll continue that trend with a nice crisp morning. it's 55 out at dulles. 55 frederick, 55 in westminster. 55 in stevensville and 56 in annapolis. cooler in the mountains where you're seeing 40's. that's light jacket weather this morning but it will be another mild one later this afternoon. satellite and radar showing the cloud cover that has increased overnight but no rain really coming out of the clouds overhead. in fact i think we stay rain free most of this week. there's a slight chance for a shower or two later on this evening. better chance late sunday night into monday. but for the most part, we are we'll time it out for you here with your fox futurecast. notice the cloud cover pretty extensive over on the 95 corridor. everything should be very weak and most of us won't see anything. fast forward to tomorrow, easter morning upper merionly for services or easter egg hunts sunshine breaking out across the area. it will be a very sunny day. here's the cold front approaching by 5:00 p.m. maybe some more late clouds and then again along that cold front showers and possibly a thunderstorm along the 81 corridor. this is at 5 o'clock. by the time they reach us in washington it's after dark, passing shower will give way to partly cloudy skies on monday morning. jet stream will shift a little bit further southward by next week meaning we'll see more 60's and the 70's versus the 80's that we'll see on sunday. assochere's the way it looks. if 97 washington. towards the west where the warm front crosses earlier we've got 80's. 80 dulles, 81 manassas, 82 in culpeper, 80 winchester. look at that difference. places like the water where it takes the warm front a little bit longer to get through, 63 degrees, 75 in leonardtown, 76 in gaithersburg. so, a bit of a variety but overall the further southwest you go the warmer it will be. it's mild overnight as temperatures only fall back into the 60's so this is why i'm thinking you'll want the air conditioning on tonight leading into a very hot easter holiday t64 overnight. 86 on easter and i wouldn't be more degrees out of that ahead of the front so upper 80's will be likely for so many spots. who is going to hit line. >> -- 90? i bet someone do. we have a front sag further towards our south. there's a tendency for clouds maybe a shower to linger a bit. showers most likely during the wednesday time frame. we could use the rain. it will help clear out all the pollen. then it looks pretty warm with just the chance of a shower as we get through the second half of the work week. 75 on thursday, 79 friday. the big headline it's going to be a hot easter sunday and then we look a little unsettled as green homes. >> yes. >> we're focusing on green and eco friendly homes today. >> yes. >> we were talking offline. you're saying a lot of into your homes have integrated this idea. >> right. >> so perhaps we'll see more and more of this in the market. >> absolutely. there's a lot of value having an energy efficient home. taking into account energy usage water usage and integrate it into the core of the design is more popular. >> interesting. we've heard the term going green, eco friendly homes energy efficient homes. >> what does that exactly mean. >> well, it really focuses on energy usage and so that's heating and cooling, water usage and then when you have a there's actually different things you can do with vegetation there to help a lot with energy and water conservation. >> how does it save you money in the long run? >> right. so, for example i did an energy audit a couple of years ago. >> uh-huh. >> and from that i did significantly additional insulation in my house, i caulked up some windows, i put in solar panels so my energy bills are about $1,500 -- pardon me $1,500 a year lower than my neighbor's. >> wow. >> because of the improvement. >> that's a big difference. most of that is probably in the solar panels and there's still some nice tax benefits. there's a lot to be done with respect to making your home more efficient even if it's an older home. >> if you have an older home, where does one start to begin that process? >> yeah, well, actually pepco has a really good program where you can get basically hundred dollars and they come in with different sensors and they look at different air flow in your house and they come in with a suite of recommendations. basically you can use that as your blueprint prioritize what you want to do. >> for homeowners to have an idea if they want to get a jump start on this what is the cost of starting just with the basic thing. >> right. so, when you think about caulking windows and things like that, that can be a couple hundred dollars. that's not oh,, once you know where you need to do the work it's not very hard to do. insulating your attic which i'll actually blew in about an extra 14 or 18-inches of insulation throughout the attic and that was a couple thousand dollars. >> you did this yourself. >> no, no. >> i was going to say that's impressive. >> get a professional and that are very specific equipment. >> can you do any of this yourself. >> well, you could definitely do the caulking, some of the basic insulation and sealing yourself. when you're talking about blowing that amount of insulation it doesn't make themselves. >> okay. and then when we think ahead to selling is your home -- >> right. >> , what are the benefits for the buyer or the seller. >> when looking different homes especially people generally looking at homes about the same size and you take the time to work with your real estate agent to make sure it's documented in the mls and then put into the documentation in the description the fact that your energy bills are lower, your water bills are lower and it's an energy efficient house. i think people put significant value on that now. it could be warm weather then got cut off by the cold march weather. evening out as we take a live view outside on this saturday morning april 15. in the middle of the month here and we've had a warm first half of the month. looks like we'll continue to through the weekend into next week. more clouds. it will be warmer later today. it's nice and cool right now but we'll be well into the 70's by the time we hit midafternoon and then feeling down right hot on your easter sunday probably one of the hottest ones in recent times because temperatures will be soaring into the 80's. turning unsettled as we head into next week. we've got multiple chances for showers. any showers we get will be beneficial. still in the moderate drought here in d.c. and also that tree pollen has been unbearable at times so that will that help. temperatures though remain mainly above average as it looks pretty warm through the whole work week. right now very comfortable. windows opened weather. 57 in washington, 54 baltimore, 56 in annapolis, 55 in stevensville and even some 40's out along the spine of the mountains. we'll see 40's and 50's showing up towards our north here as well. 43 in boston, 44 binghamton, 52 new york city. it's a forty eight weekend for for, great weekend for travel so physical you'll visit family tomorrow no issues. satellite and radar showing increasing cloud cover that's occurred with an approaching warm front during the overnight hours. that warm front will bring us warmer temperatures later today but it's probably going to be more of a cloudier one than a sunny one. we've had some very sunny afternoons but i think because of the increasing moisture, it will be more gray sky than blue sky. so here's the setup for today. maybe a shower or two along that warm front later tonight although it's going to be incredibly isolated. i don't think we're going to need umbrellas or jackets as you head out on your saturday night. it's just too isolated. and then into that easter sunday high pressure towards the south southerly flow sunshine will be reinforced. a warm front towards the north, cold front will you can get a lot of sunshine. all that sunshine will help warm us well into the 80's. in fact maybe even mid 80's to close to 90 degrees. someone is going hit 90 i just bet. nationals baseball i was out there last night such a beautiful evening and what a game, too into the tenth inning, that was a great win. let's hope the nats can do it 1:05, first pitch more clouds than sun. when you're in the 70's you can be sweating pretty easily so i think a nice break from the sun with those cloud cover but you still need the sunscreen and the sunglasses. we'll have a few peeks of sunshine mixed in. seven-day forecast, 77 for today t-look at those temperatures soar on sunday, 86 and i think we could even easily get another degree or two out of that by tomorrow afternoon. 76 with a chance of a shower on monday as well as tuesday. we've got a front that will get stuck towards our south so that allows a lot of cloud cover to blow over, maybe a shower on the best chance will be south. temperatures warm back up towards the end of the work week. wednesday looks wet, 75 on this saturday april 15th, 2017. here's a live look across the d.c. region, the washington monument there. we won't see much sun today but it is going to be warm so thats good news. we'll get the full forecast from caitlin roth in just a few. first we say good morning. i'm annie yu. thanks for waking up with us. happening today, metro safe track surge 14 begins. this will affect riders who use the green line. and our alexandria limon joining us live from greenbelt with all the details and everything riders need to know. good morning, alex. >> reporter: good morning, annie and one of the things riders need to know is that this station right here, the greenbelt station will be closed for the next month during this work for safe track surge 14. you can see a little bit of activity out here this morning. some of those shuttle buses that will coming through. we're also seeing some workers arrive for the day. now, originally metro had said surge 14 was going to be a longer period of continuous single tracking. now instead metro plans to do a shutdown and they will split the safe track surge 14 into two phases. now, phase one will start today and go through april 29th. free shuttle buses will replace trains between greenbelt and prince george's plaza. and two stations will be closed, greenbelt and college park. now, green line trains on other parts of the line will run close to regular service, about six to eight minutes, and metro says there will be no yellow rush plus trains during this time. now, phase two, that's going to happen from april 30th through may 14th. the work zone will be a little shorter from greenbelt to college park only, and again, greenbelt station will remain closed. free shuttle buses will be running between greenbelt and college park. and once again, metro says no yellow rush plus during phase two. now, all of this, of course, will have some sort of trickle effect not only onto other parts of the green line but other lines as well, so you. >> all right, thanks alex. this morning let's head to d.c. where police there are investigating a double shooting that happened in southeast. it happened around 8:30 last night in the 3500 block of stanton road. police say the victims are two men. no word on their conditions right now or what led to the gunfire. and so far no arrests have been made in this case. and two children, two virginia children who were reported missing yesterday were found early this morning safe and sound, two young boys ages five and one were last seen yesterday in the portsmouth virginia area. their their own mother who was making threats against her children. she is not in custody. fairfax county a man is accused of hitting a 75-year-old woman two times with his car and then driving off. the crash happened yesterday morning on route 50 in the fair oaks area. fox5's tisha lewis spoke with the victim's daughter and has more. >> reporter: by all accounts, maria ascencio was someone hoop who put others bee herself. she moved to the united states from el salvador 20 years ago to give them a better life. >> she was always like asking what do you need,? what can i do for you? >> reporter: the 75-year-old matriarch loved her family and she loved her morning walks in this fair oaks neighborhood. this morning was no exception. >> an hour later she didn't come back home and that's why i was calling to her phone. >> reporter: but sandra chavez never did reach her mother. instead, pleas phone saying there had been an accident. >> i feel in my heart like something wrong happened and i said no, please, lord, please not my mother. >> reporter: police say kenan ozcan struck and killed ascencio as she was walking the street. >> the car came down rugby road struck her, turned around and struck her again. >> reporter: ozcan was arrested after a woman noticed him acting strangely. >> she took a photo of him. when she did that the man assaulted her and grabbed jewelry from her and then went into one of the businesses. >> reporter: police were called as ozcan fled to this gym. when officers arrived they noticed front end damage hadn't ace car and quickly connector him to ascencio's death. >> one thing i have peace is that she received jesus in her heart the only saviour and she was sure about her salvation so i know that she's in a better >> now to the district where major change is coming to the national mall t new parking meters will soon be installed. you'll see about that 90 pay stations around the perimeter of the mall there. the national park service says the new parking will provide more spaces and more turnover of the limited parking that currently exists. so far we're hearing mixed reaction to the news. >> conflicted on it but i would have to say i understand why the city has to do it. i think if someone is a long time resident they may be upset with it. used to free parking. who wouldn't be. i really do think that it's -- it helps everyone in pence is on the road. he'll be in south korea as part of a 10 day overseas tour. the trip is intended to reinforce that the u.s. is fully committed to its security alliances especially in the face of north korea's nuclear threats. he'll also visit japan indonesia and australia. and today north korea rolled out intercontinental ballistic missiles and other military hardware out of massive parade to celebrate the birthday of the country's late founder. this video is of north korea preparing for the event. the festivities are celebrating the 105th birthday much kim jong un's grandfather. some believe a missile or nuclear test will occur sometime today. this comes as tensions between north korea and the u.s. are at a high level. meanwhile the defense department has released new video of thursday's strike in afghanistan. it shows the moment u.s. forces dropped a massive ordnance air blast bomb the largest nonnuclear weapon ever used in combat carrying 11 tons of explosives. it flu out have been planned today to remember the victims. three spectators were killed and more than 260 others wounded when two bombs planted near the finish line exploded on april 15, 2013 spraying shrapnel into the crowds. police in new york believe the gang ms-13 may have been responsible for the murder of four young men. their bodies were found mutilated in a park with one body said to be so disfigured that they could only be identified via the victim's tattoo. police announce as $25,000 reward for any tips that that lead to an arrest in this case. the investigation is ongoing at this time. and a not guilty of double murder, that was the verdict a jury in massachusetts handed down yesterday in the case of former new england patriots star player aaron hernandez. he was convicted of unlawful possession of a hernandez's future though. he's already serving a life sentence for another killing. meanwhile united airlines continues to face backlash after dragging a passenger off a flight with a hearing on the incident held thursday in chicago. fox news correspondent jackie ibanez has more from new york now. >> profit friendly not customer friendly. >> reporter: united airlines is under pressure from lawmakers and protesters in chicago after a passenger wall dragged off an overbooked flight at o'hare international airport last sunday. chicago's aviation department is facing operation. >> reporter: three officers are on administrative leave pending an investigation. >> any disciplinary action that is determined to be warranted up to and including potential termination the country this weekend. >> it looks to us to be race profiling. not right to reach out to him in that way and certainly to pick him out and then snatch him out of his seat. they said that we tried to reach mr. munoz. he has not returned our call. we are here to meet with him day. the airline says it's trying to do everything it can to avoid a similar incident. >> we have all seen the shocking and disturbing videos which will captured the unacceptable mistreatment of our customer, dr. dao. >> reporter: democrats in congress are also pushing for a federal investigation amid the outcry. in new york, jackie ibanez fox news. >> take a look at this chaotic scene in new york. this started when a train with more than 1,00 for nearly three hours yesterday. the situation escalated when amtrak police used a stun gun to he subdue a disruptive man in the station sparking this stampede. the train became disabled when amtrak was experiencing power problems. very scary. time now is 8:16. some trouble for a carnival cruz ship leaving alabama. it had technical difficulties convenienting the ship from reaching its maximum speed. we're also told the ship won't be able to reach its scheduled are investigating a double shooting that happened in southeast. happened around 8a30 last night in the 3500 block of stanton road. police say the victims are two men. right now we don't have a word on their conditions, how they're doing or what led to the gunfire. so far no arrests have been made in this case. to virginia now where two virginia children who were reported missing yesterday were found early this morning safe and sound. two young boys ages five and one were last seen yesterday in the portsmouth virginia area. police say their alleged abductor is their mother who was making threats yesterday against her children. she's not in custody at the moment. and the jokers jinx ride at six flags america in upper marlboro will be closed again today. the rollercoaster will not reopen until workers figure out why it got stuck on thursday. two dozen riders were stranded on about four hours until firefighters were able to rescue them. a similar incident happened several years ago on this exact same ride. well, happening today, metro safe track surge 14 begins. it's kiking offer. this will affect riders who use the green line. alexandria limon joins us from greenbelt with all the details. good morning to you alex. >> reporter: good morning, and this round of track work will of course cause headaches for green line riders. the biggest inconvenience being that this station right here, the greenbelt station, will be closed for the next month or so. let me show you what's going on out here. you can see a lot of buses, both regular and metro buses as well as shuttles that are coming through in place of trains. now, surge 14 gets under way today and originally metro said they planned for a longer period of continuous single tracking. now instead, the agency says surge 14 will be a shutdown phases in order to reduce the amount of time that the repair work will impact customers. the first phase will go from today through april 29th. and free shuttle buses will replace trains between greenbelt and prince george's plaza. and two stations will be closed during that time, greenbelt and college park. now, green line trains on other parts of the line will run close to regular service, about six to eight minutes during rush hours and yellow rush plus trains will not operate according to the agency. now, during phase two, from april 30th through may 14th, the work zone will be shortened between greenbelt and college park only so a little less work but as a result, greenbelt will remain closed again shuttle buses running in place of trains between greenbelt and college park this time and also during phase two, metro says yellow rush plus will not operate so just some things for not green line riders but other passengers to keep in mind because of course we will see a bit of a trickle effect and some time delays on other lines as well, so if you want to look at a complete list of those, you can go to our web site, fox5d.c.com. we're live in sunday. i'll show you that in minute. first let's check temperatures this morning. it's comfortable. 57 at reagan, 56 dulles and 55 bwi marshall. even maybe a light jacket or sweater as you walk the dog early this morning because temperatures are pretty cool and with that cloud cover it will feel like pretty cool through the morning hours but we'll warm up nicely this afternoon. elsewhere we're looking at 54 in 57 in annapolis, 55 in leonardtown. we've got more clouds than sun n futurecast does reflect that. maybe some more sunshine towards our west and that's where that temperatures will be warmer so along the mountains and into central portions of virginia. there is a slight chance for a shower as that warm front passes through later on this afternoon but i think it will be fairly spotty. most of us stay dry and any showers we see should pass fairly quickly. waking up tomorrow morning, your easter sunday, we have lots of sunshine planned. not seeing any showers roll in until later on in the evening. that's along a cold front. you can see some of that light green up by hagerstown indicating the chance for showers possibly a thunderstorm. that would be late on sunday. and then for the work week we are seeing that change in the jet stream so very warm for tomorrow. we'll be back to normal or at least closer to normal, temperatures mainly in the 70's for next week. so, high temperatures today, 77 in washington, 81 manassas, 82 fredericksburg and 82 culpeper but a annapolis. overnight we fall back into the 60's. it's pretty mild. if you are headed out to nats park today t-i was there last night, fantastic weather, fantastic ending to the game in extra innings. 73 degrees for that first pitch temperature at 1:05 p.m. expect nor clouds than sun but sometimes that consigned five-two-nine. how do you manage doing all this. >> i will say staying organized is the only way i can put it. >> you basically have to organize the bonding time with the kids and the quote the other day that says if you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life. >> that's right. >> so i really love that 'cause i really do love what i do. second, you have to -- this is probably the most tedious part but have a business plan. come up with a business plan that will become your guiding life. it will be a pain in the butt while you're doing it but just do it, get your thoughts all on paper 'cause as moms we have so many things in our head. so, get those thoughts all on paper. >> let me stop you right there. so, before you started your business, did you have a background business? >> i did. i had a background regame. >> so you had a little inside knowledge but i'm sure you had to do a lot of leg work and homework, right. >> yes. >> so, for someone who does have a passion and then their next thing is starting a business plan, what are some resources that you used that you can pass on to other moms. >> i think just getting it all down on paper. i mean, there's web sites that can help you but just getting all those thoughts out on paper in an outline and what is your mission? what are the products, the services that you're going to offer. just get it all on day. >> okay. >> then after that, surround yourself with other moms, business owners, like develop a network for yourself and i am so lucky in old town that i have such an amazing network of women that you can go to. if you're writing your business plan or at the end of the day super frustrated with what went on at work i have a great group of women in old town, they're all business owners and i mean the women ffr i didn't know what i was wearing so i went to the hive and they dressed me. >> they become your girlfriends. >> your husbands are amazing but at the end of the day they don't wounds moms go through. moms have a lot going on. you know, so it's amazing. also, like get an a team. get a good a team together. have amazing employees that share your same vision but also, you know, for the accounting, for the publicity and stuff like that, hire out. get somebody that is an expert in that field so that -- >> in other words, don't feel bad if you can't do it all. >> yeah, realize that you can't do it all. >> as moms we want to do it all. >> you have to realize you can't do it all. at the end of the day i don't want to be crunching my numbers. i want to be on the floor playing with my one-year-old so it's important to realize that, no, we cannot do it all as moms. we try but, you know, running a business, being a mom, you mou which is my fifth point, find balance. and that's going back to original question, stay organized, find balance so that you can have that time at home with your children 'cause honestly that's why we're doing this, since they're the most important things. >> yeah, or have them help around the berks too, get them involved with moms. >> which my boys do. >> that teaches them. >> there they are. >> they're so darling. >> thank fixings at the table. >> exactly. it could blow up in your face really quickly. >> what are you going to show us today. >> we're talking about metabolism a little bit and our metabolism we think about technically it's just everything that goes on in your body that keeps us living but when we think about it we think about how many calories. i burning in my workout and when i'm sitting around at home. >> that's right. >> as we know, as time goes on, metabolism is slowing down but we have a few moves though to show you to boost your metabolism an few tricks of the trade to help you keep burning those calories not only in that workout but as you're sitting at your desk walking around even as you're sleeping. >> let's get started. >> cool. so the first one we're going get steven down here into pushup position. one thing we really focus on to raising metabolism steve is going to knock out a hundred push-ups right or 10. >> a hundred? [laughter] >> i was like right. >> we'll go for 10 push-ups and then we'll go right into some some mountain climbers. >> okay. >> the one thing metabolism is raise up your heart rate, okay sole getting you into high intensity interval zones into your cardio and building muscle so the more muscle that you have on to your body the more calories you're going to burn in your workout and out of your workout. so, we like the combo a few strength training workouts -- strength training exercises with some type of cardio exercise back to back. >> so, this is great but it's also how you incorporate food into your diet, right. >> of course. >> what are some things that we can do to help with our metabolism speed up. >> diet wise -- you can take a break: you're going to make me work out for real. >> hundred. >> keep it going. great point. one thing for your food is very important is how much protein you have in your diet, right. of course we love the cakes and cookies and even rice and sweet potatoes which are still healthy for you but the more protein you have in your diet at this time actually takes your body a lot of energy to break that down so we're going your body is trying to breakthroughs all that protein. you ever heard of the meat sweats. >> yes. >> that's real. so your body is raising its temperature try to break down protein. the more protein you have in your diet the more you'll be burning calories just by eating the protein. >> okay. >> so protein protein. >> protein protein. >> what's next. >> another one we can do, we got my handy band here. i love the bands because they travel well, they're light, easy whether you're at work or at home. you can do a nice workout with it. one thing i want to do is a nice back exercise. so, i'm going told onto an anchor here steven is going to be rowing in, pulling in. he'll get 10 reps just like this. if you don't have a partner or a nice fit friend like myself who can hold onto it you can wrap this around a door handle or some type of pole in your house or even outside the weather is great right now when it's not cloudy. >> maybe around a tree or something ah. around a tree. then we'll drop into jump squats. squat and land and we'll go for 10 >> wow. >> even if you have knee issues or the impact is a little too much for it, you can go a.m. squat and just move very quickly. >> okay. >> the thing we want to get people out of the habit of is úmoving in a steady state, where we're just like one and two. >> you want to get moving. >> we want to get moving, right, rev it up much each time you do the same -- if you do the same workout each time you do it try to move a little bit quicker and that's going to raise that heart rate out of your comfort zone and get you in that recovery zone where your metabolism is boosting up. >> okay and and the good old running in place is okay. >> running in place is fine, that's totally fine but try to make sure -- pump your knees up a little bit higher than normal, pump your arms. >> do a little tracks. >> exactly. >> coach d thank you so much. >> thank you so much steven great job. catch your breath. >> easter goes over the top. wait until mind children's center in hollywood hosted an easter egg hunt where the eggs beeped loudly so the kids can still have the same fun experience and find those eggs despite their disability. wonderful. let's check in with caitlin roth. i know a lot of people are gearing up for those easter egg hunts. >> it's going to be beautiful nice and sunny no problems with the weather but it will be very warm so an unusually hot easter forecast and i am saying hot because temperatures will be well into the 80's tomorrow afternoon. possibly someone in our area hitting 90 degrees. so, easter weekend warmup, that's what we're tracking here. it is cool out there this morning but it will be much warmer later this afternoon. temperatures to start mainly in the 50's. 57 in washington, 58 in manassas and 55 in leonardtown. it is a cool 55 in baltimore and 59 in frederick. we've got a lot of cloud cover this morning but we should still warm up despite that. 54 in pittsburgh, it is 52 new york, 47 in boston and any travel this weekend should be fine. mainly clear conditions around the northeast, the midatlantic so you shouldn't have any issues. couple of showers are possible later tonight as that warm front slides trough. i would say in the evening. maybe a shower. however, it should be fairly isolated. i don't think it's a night you're going to really need the umbrella but the major headline is how warm it's going to be tomorrow. bermuda high towards our south will pump in that heat and yes, that humidity so our forecast for today, probably even feeling a little muggy later on this afternoon. 77 degrees, more sun than -- more clouds than sun but we'll turn that around by tomorrow easter sunday. we'll have a lot of sunshine as we sit in that warm sector in between front. 86 degrees for tomorrow. we cool things back down into the work week. temperatures still staying above normal but with more clouds and chances for showers especially on wednesday that might help alleviate some of the pollen in the air bring us some much needed rain. looks like we warm things up there by thursday and then friday close to again so overall laos looks like a beautiful easter come up with creative ways to decorate easter eggs. good morning to all of you. >> welcome. >> aliyah maya three and four years old. >> three and four. >> perfect age to get started on decorating eggs. >> also perfect type of wear such cute easter sun dresses. i'm jealous. >> i'm sure you've done a lot of projects. what have you found to be some of the less mess free things that are still fun for the kids. >> well, so one of the things we did was we took some crayons and drew on the -- over here, so these eggs right here, we took the eggs when they were still warm and just took regular crayons and the kids drew all over them and as you can and the colors mix together and then once it dries, you have this nice finish on the eggs so the kids really enjoyed that. and then another thing we did we did with these eggs right here was we took a -- just a little container with a lid and then put about a fourth cup of rice in it put some food coloring in it put the egg in there shut the lid shake around and then you get this effect right here. >> the speckled look on the eggs. do you use a specific type of crayons or just regular old crayons. >> just the regular crayola crayons. these were dye and i use the regular mccormack food coloring. >> yeah, food coloring. i find that works a little bit better than the actual egg kits you get a little bit more vibrant color and you can mix colors, too and kind of customize your look. >> okay, very neat. >> for these ones where you stuck the googlely eyes and ribbons what glue did you use. i always have trouble finding that glue to keep it on. >> i initially u regular elmer's glue for them and then the eye balls fell off so i ended up using a flew gun and the glue gun has held very well. >> okay. >> okay. >> all right. so, did the girls help you make these. >> they did help with some of them. >> so cute. >> honey. >> and these eggs - [laughter] >> did you make these as well. >> i did make those. what i did with these, i actually used the same blue dye used for the bottom of the minions. instead of keeping the eggs in the dye a little bit i dropped them in took them back out and took a brush with brown paint and kind of flicked the brush to get the spots in that is a good idea. that's smart. >> just flick it onto the eggs. >> these were dyed with tea. brewed a cup of really strong tea dumped the eggs in there. >> that's how you got brown eggs. >> aliyah did you help make any of these eggs? which ones did you help make. >> which one is your egg honey. >> this one right here. >> oh, this one. >> that one is her sister's egg. >> this is great. i love the colors you used. let's go onto the basket here before we run out o >> oh, the basket. so, this was just a plane p pink basket from wal-mart. i have the white and the pink. >> you tied it. >> you would take two layers -- i have two different colors but use the same color and just push it through the basket and then just slip it through and tie a knot but i would suggest using a crochet hook or something like that to pull the tulle through. by the end of it your finger is hurting. >> that's good to know. >> this is quite a large basket. >> yes. >> and you decorated it so cutely with a little bit of easter grass in there and little decorations. >> little bit of candy. >> all right, everyone is ready for the easter bunny tomorrow? >> are you ready.
