trash collection. city leaders say one reason for the switch--more and more people are recycling. and that lessens the need for twice-a- week pickup. 10 news reporter emerald morrow is live at the how this is going to go over in the summer to get smelly - another thing that bothers them... - not only are trash days being cut, but their rates aren't going down... - in fact, they're actually going up - workers here at the solid waste station say the rate increase of about a dollar will help pay for a new transfer station - the current one is about 44 years old - but they want to emphasize that this has nothing to do with why they're cutting down on your garbage days - they say it really is because more people are recycling more and have less of a need for their trash to get picked up
