when i was here last week, this family was really scared. they didn't know what they were going to do. but we got some news this week that things have changed. we're here to catch up with them on thanksgiving day. i hear they've got something to be thankful for. >> happy thanksgiving day. thanks for having me over. tell me about the phone call that you got from the insurance company. >> the original voice mail said regarding the incident involving leah's prescription. so that to me was pretty evident that they had gotten wind. the news story. >> reporter: what is cot cost of the medication? >> about $700 out of pocket. >> how long does that left you it lasted us about a month. we have hay to turn to family who don't have it to help. >> reporter: but that one phone call changed everything. >> he was very, very nice. he was apologetic for he didn't mention the news story at all but he was very apologetic for everything. >> reporter: did you guys remember what your mom was like after she got off the phone. >> she was happy as she's ever been. >> reporter: what was that like? >> i was shocked and then i wasn't. i felt a great sense of relief but i knew -- i just knew that the story had basically lit a fire under themmism know that we wouldn't be where we the light on the issue that is going o i know it is still a huge issue. i know a lot of people, the outcome wade lot of really good siblings but sherry is my best friend. >> it was mutual. >> reporter: they've lived together all of their adult lives. tracy helping sherry through her own health problems that included seizures and a coma at the age of 20. this is where we take a brief detour from the story to talk about sherry's lymph for the of her mouth. >> i stuck my hand straight in the air and said siblings were adopted. so when they grew up, they knew they wanted to do the same. >> i knew i wanted to be a mom and sherry was not sure she wanded to be a mom. >> reporter: they agreed to be foster par don't four brothers >> they said well, there is actually six. they said about nobody will take six. nobody will take six. >> nobody's crazy enough for that. >> reporter: they were crazy enough. they both said yes. >> i'm like what did we just do? >> reporter: the kids come from a drug-addicted biological motherment their biological father is in prison. sis texas has close to 14,000 kids in we make things like chicken fajitas, pork chops, some green beans and potatoes. >> reporter: texas a & msm students mix and cook the ingredients. the food is then stuffed in small pouchs an placed in a high pressure oven. kills microbes making sure the five years. >> this is a sweet potato. good. it tastes just hike what you would get on the ground. it is good. >> reporter: before each mission, crew member pick out which foods they like in taste tests and then the orders are september up every three months in a supply rocket. mealtime in zero gravity certainly looks challenging but favorite
